7. Jason Kim needs to hire professional writers who can write down better dialogue and plot. Just give all your ideas to a team of expert writers who can whip up a functional screenplay that stands the tests of logic as well as storytelling. 8. I DO NOT CARE whoever the eff is Dex. Who the eff is he ?! 9. Action > Story as per Jason Kim’s formula. That’s not a sustainable formula. 10. Woojin needs a backstory. I still don’t know anything about Woojin except that he was a marine, was once a bloodhound for loan sharks, an amateur boxer whose dad was a bronze medalist.
EXACTLY!! THE ARCHER GIRL WAS SO BADASS WHEN SHE COME IN ACTION! When i first saw the intro of ep 1 s2 i was like…
She was there to tell geon woo and woojin about th dark web. 😒 that’s probably the only purpose she served. They found out about the dark web and IKFCs evil enterprise like that. But after that…literally nothing.
The most authentic and real character, and personally for me, the most likeable (of course after our two leads) in this show is Moon Gwang Mu (played by Park Hoon).
Although rugged and uncouth, operating on the margins of what’s legal. He still seems like the best adult in the room for Geonwoo and Woojin. Unlike Hong Min Beom (the 3rd gen Chaebol) and Min Gang Yong (the detective with the perpetual condescending air about him), who operate from a place of ego.
did they not have enough to pay for woojin as a main character...these shows are always cutting corners.
They definitely had the budget to fund the cameo carousel. Just who is this Dex guy ? What is a literal social media influencer nobody doing in this production? Why was that pastry boy needed ?
I agree but there's also a moment where they gave us a glimpse of the same Woojin. That moment where they're dealing…
That’s a great point regarding Geonwoo’s influence on him on living a good upright life. But there are soooo many moments where that spitfire woojin needs to rear his head. But it just stirs and fizzles away. You know what I mean ? It’s like he’s defanged or something
Unpopular opinion continued: 6. Woojin in series 1 was such a spitfire. A hotheaded guy. He loves geonwoo but he took no shit. He wasn’t the jokester he carried around to be. He was dangerous when angry. That fact was established in S1 when the loan shark he was trying to secure funds from for Geonwoo insults them and he just gives him one look. That look that tells you he’s a heart of gold, appears like a chill guy, jokes around and teases Geonwoo cos he’s so simple and upright but if you mess with Woojin he can make you cower with just one look. The guy who effing put up a fight with Myung Gil’s mercenaries alone in pyjamas.
But in season 2, the life has been snuffed out of Woojin. That spitfire spark is gone. Like what happened?!
Okay. So I am doing a second watch today (on a slower pace. Cos I want to enjoy the technical aspects of this production). And now I’m coming up with some unpopular opinions. (More will follow).
1. S2 DID NOT NEED THE RETURN OF IN BEOM. No matter what anyone says. In Beom was not needed whatsoever. Any screen time spent on his character in my opinion is wasted screen time. 2. When I started watching the show I whined a lot about “where’s the damn police?!!”. In hindsight, I’m thinking what difference did the police make ? 3. Villains kitted with all kinds of modern gadgetry to support their evil designs, like jammers and shit. And we have this whole law enforcement machinery trying to catch them and all they rely on is batons, cctv footage and tazer guns. Not even surveillance devices like wiretaps and or satellite imagery is utilised. 4. The hotel where the villainous enterprise was staying at (and the lady who alerted the bad guys in advance), just a passing mention. No indicments. Like what the hell does “going by the books” mean here ? 5. Wheelchair girl comeback. Was it required? If so, then why not the archer girl? Like did we need this character?
why don't they have any gun even the police to think they have strong opponents 😅
When the police guy at the end shot the ex-NIS black ops guy, I literally exclaimed “I love guns!!!!” 💀💀💀💀💀💀 and I swear to you, I hate guns. I absolutely hate hate hate those things. But when that scene happened I literally was missing guns 🤭😅
i get that people are not liking how gunwoo cries alot BUT if you have that type of trauma you think about everything…
I don’t mind that he’s crying. Actually I find it totally believable. Also we see that every time he sees a knife pointed at him he sort of flinches and hesitates. Cos he still has that memory of getting his face cut by Kim Myong Gil. It makes total sense that he’s emotional. He’s just a guy who wanted to be a great boxer. And live his life in an upright way that people want to role model (Manny Pacquiao type). So for him to end up in these situations, of course he’s gonna get overwhelmed. He has no criminal bone in him. He struggles with it. I don’t understand why people find him becoming emotional unbelievable or unbecoming. 😒
I am not happy with the ending. Did I need a season 2, maybe not. But I love Lee Sang Yi and Woo Do Hwan as actors.…
Also how did knife 2 survive that attack? Like how? I went back to season 1 to see what the attackers did to him. Dude doesn’t even have partial handicap of any kind 😳 wow
I am not happy with the ending. Did I need a season 2, maybe not. But I love Lee Sang Yi and Woo Do Hwan as actors. WDH is already in main lead era so for him to comeback and do this again shows how much he loves action as a genre cos it’s no easy feat to get in shape for this and do all that stuff that he did so impeccably. LSY still hasn’t cracked the main lead code, so for me if he gets a main role in this one, I’m all for it. Cos hey, working actors need as much recognition to stitch together a filmography that creates their own niche and place in a super competitive industry. So considering all that, okay I am fine with season 2. But do I now need season 3? No. I do not. If it’s all about achieving and capturing incredible stunts on film but get served a holes-riddled plot then I don’t want it.
Why don’t we ever get Woojin’s backstory. Didn’t he come from a family. His father was a bronze medalist at 27, as we were told in S1. Why does LSYs character feel like a prop or a side character.
The action sequences of WDH and his ability to make them look realistic is 🤌🏻 someone give this guy a spy show. A well written, like super well written spy show.
11. Where is woojin’s scar ? Just wondering. 🤔he had a huge scar on his tummy.
