Murder the Chaebol prince, force a bebe company crisis, buy up stock when the price falls, cast aside ex-gf/bastard…
It's long been a known truth in business circles that there is less than 1 degree of separation between a successful CEO and a sociopath. They both display limited concern for the feelings and well-being of others. Both can exhibit strong charisma that attracts and influences others. They possess the ability to read and manipulate emotions effectively. Both are willing to take significant risks to achieve their goals and tend to make confident decisions without hesitation. Both prioritize outcomes over processes at the expense of ethics.
Chaebols breed this trait in their offspring. It takes a callous disregard for human suffering to enact mass layoffs, suppress wages, fake evidence against rivals, etc.
The real exception are the compassionate, kind-hearted CEOs which only exist in fiction. Real-life examples lack the necessary survival skills and don't last long.
I just don't understand, why is the MLs half sister going so far to inherit the company? Like, why does she hate…
She knows it's inevitable that ML will be given her position as CEO by daddy. It's uncommon for a bastard to rule while there is a legitimate heir (also she is both female and younger). Now that the prince has returned to the kingdom, her role is entirely threatened.
Can someone explain to me exactly what the 🔥plot would accomplish? For the brother, I mean. His family’s…

What was he supposed to do? Neighborhood markets only have a very limited selection, and he did say he would buy "the brightest one!" Anyone visiting the chandelier section at their local 7-11 would make the exact same decision.
Unpopular opinion: this drama shouldn't have villains. This is a kind of plot where villains are unnecessary.…
Agreed! The villains are two-dimensional and lame: endlessly-greedy chaebols at the top, eating their own vs. bottom-feeder loan sharks feeding off of the misfortune of the common folk, down below.
It's great if you love gaslighting, lies, & deceit. Oh and what's better than brutal loan sharks getting generously…
People want to see characters stand up for themselves, not reinforce the materialistic "enough money solves all problems"/ "only rich people can solve these problems everyone else must be a victim"/ "the strong dominate the weak and the weak have to put up with it". Never underestimate the power of a righteous vigilante. Fighting!
I really like great scripted entertainment. Sadly, the bona fide10/10 examples are too few and far between.

Why did they present child FL as a champion then, defending her sister? What was the point of that? "Checkov's knife" refers to another scriptwriting rule: If you show something in Act 1, it should make a reappearance in act 4.
Also, I'm not as frustrated as I may have led you to believe. Mostly I'm relieved to have made it all the way through episode 9 where the lies are finally unraveling and the healings can begin. But as good as the good stuff in this drama is (and it's the good stuff which has kept me along for the ride), this is in no way IMO a 10 (which is the assertion that started this whole thread.)

I guess you don't take things personally. You don't mind when the bank gives your mom a heart attack, chases you down darkened streets, kidnaps you, threatens to toss you out of a moving vehicle, or threatens to cut your organs out while you bleed to death and watch. You don't mind this at all.

Verbal exposition is another example of lazy scriptwriting. Not every viewer (including myself, in this example of the thugs mad about the cops) is gonna catch this. Good scriptwriters know the classic rule "show, don't tell."
Also, I never suggested ML rescue her. We saw from flashbacks that FL is supposed to be a fighter, so let's see her fight to defend herself. When the thug threatened to toss her out of the moving van, she shoulda coulda said, "let's go out together", opened the slide door, then grabbed him and tossed him over herself out onto the street, and under the tires of another car. Boom! Then she could strangle the driver with his seatbelt, causing a crash which defeats the other two thugs and walks away, like a hero.
10/10 wouldn’t change a thing I’m loving this. This will go down as my all-time favorite K drama.
It's great if you love gaslighting, lies, & deceit. Oh and what's better than brutal loan sharks getting generously rewarded with no repercussions to crimes like kidnapping and inflicting heart attacks?
As of ep 8 I can hardly believe I'm still watching this. Usually I drop a drama which leans so heavily on lies, white lies, gaslighting, & deceit. I consider it to be lazy scriptwriting. At least in this case the lies feed into the ML's family dysfunction, which is a slight step above. But enough already! This has been dragging on for far too long, and the production dares to present increasing emotional damage as entertainment.
Also, there is not anywhere nearly enough violence. The loan sharks should have been brutally beaten, not rewarded for their crimes & abuse. Now they get to live on and continue terrorizing other innocent families. Mr. Ma should have his face bashed in with his camera. And the ladies (ML's mother & his bastard sister) should be carrying tasers—their men deserve to be shocked into submission!
I just Realized this is a Netflix only drama.... so does this mean all eps drop at once??
Definitely. Netflix originals always drop all episodes at once. It is only when Netflix partners with a domestic studio that episodes are released sequentially. In that case, they are typically released immediately after broadcast in their originating country. (Also—even when Netflix decides to include localized audio dubbing in various languages—they still release each episode immediately after broadcast in its original language but include localized subtitles. They then update the episodes days or weeks later with the localized audio dubbing, as it becomes available.)
is the fl ml girlfriend will stay with him till the end or they will break up!? thank you
I dunno. There is no gf in the webtoon. The gf is a replacement for a sister. There was a female alcohero who gets her powers from booze but is replaced by a dude. And there is a new female calorihero character who gets her powers from eating.
Not so far from reality. We have a US President proclaiming himself a king and who considers himself above the…
Each of those "revocations" (nationwide injunctions) have since been overruled, so my point stands.
Our Constitution divides our government into three separate but equal branches: the Legislative, the Judicial, and the Executive. The legislative and the judicial cannot override the executive. They can only cite constitutional violations. And this must be proven in the courts of law.
So far—even though in the short-term some District Judges have been successful in their attempts to impose nationwide injunctions upon Executive actions, these have been struck down after review by the Circuit Courts. There have been no exceptions.
