In his next drama, 'I Believe You', Lee Chae Min plays "an iljin character… who has no ability to empathize with sadness and pain, and he harasses … a friend of the same age as him."
I keep replaying the scene in my head where the inventor guy play as a hero 🦸 & bombed them bodyguards.…
I would love an entire series about this guy — along with his great uncle, the actual historical water clock guy. (Aside, ISTR the water clock guy appearing in another K-Drama, but I forget which? 🤔) I expect there should be interest to watch a proper Joseon Steampunk!
Not first and not last person leaving that rotten company.
Thank you for your thoughtful replies. I also wonder about how GM's situation affects their artists insofar as advertising agencies and brands may be reluctant to engage with the studio as a result of news reports like this one, which features a photograph of a seemingly-abandoned broken down building as a false front for the secret ownership of the agency. I doubt Prada is inclined to make any more deals with such a shoddy & suspicious operation. I also wonder what Subway & Kopiko (etc.) would say about this. So again, it is reasonable to surmise that GMs artists suffer as a result of their agency's mismanagement.
Not first and not last person leaving that rotten company.
It is not hateful to take note that this agency takes a much larger share of its talent's earnings. This news is important to prospective artists so that they might make good choices when aligning themselves with potential partners and avoiding exploitative contracts. Now that most of GM's talent knows they are getting a worse deal than if they had alternate representation, I expect more of them will make management changes as soon as they are legally free to do so.
Not first and not last person leaving that rotten company.
I am aware. And GM is continuing to profit from his success (and ongoing into the future as royalties continue to accrue). I do hope the agency will release a fair share of the ongoing revenue stream with the artist. That article claims the agency has been retaining a larger-than-normal percentage of their artists' earnings. KSH is no longer the cash cow he once was. I fear how they exploit their talent in order cover the exorbitant costs associated with multiple damage control teams of very expensive attorneys, fixers, and publicists as a result of their executives' own legal woes.
Credit to Lee Chae Min for thriving despite the vampires' fangs in his neck draining him of his life force.
predictable ending, bcs this drama is just giving almost same ending every time travel drama.
Why are travel dramas, romance dramas, and sports dramas so predictable as if the writers automatically assume people don't want to see ill-fated lovers fail to get together in the end, hardworking underdog athletes lose the championship, or time travelers totally mess up history beyond repair? It's as if there is some unwritten law for writer's which demands that things have to work out in the end! Personally, I blame the studios who are constantly chasing ratings while catering to advertisers.
The only thing being worse than bad quality is being predictable. This drama is both 🤡
As the comment directly above yours explains, predictability really is not the criticism you think it is. There are genres such as love stories which remain eternally popular despite common core predictable elements. Sports dramas is another genre in which predictability is not a deterrent. We want the people to overcome hardships & fall in love just as we want to watch determined underdogs win the championship.
Relatable characters and how the story is told is so much more important to our enjoyment!
I think it's overrated drama it just looks like a cooking show with similar story line just predictible script.
You have a right to your opinion. Others share your sentiment. Also, it is reasonable to acknowledge that a very large number of people have enjoyed this production very much, and more will assuredly follow as a result of word-of-mouth and the publicity resulting from its high ratings.
Fans of Bon Appetit, Your Majesty may want to check out Yoona's recent guest appearances on the K-Reality show, "Chef & My Refrigerator" (Netflix). This is a fun cooking show where chefs compete in 15-minute rounds using ingredients found in the celebrity guests' personal refrigerators, which are delivered to the studio.
Actress Lim Yoon A was a guest in two recent episodes where she discussed her own cooking skills and her preparations for her role in Bon Appetit, Your Majesty (episodes 33 & 34.)
Finally! My sister who has been obsessed with Food Network for the last 15 years has been pulled into KDramas…
You both might also appreciate watching the K-Reality show, "Chef & My Refrigerator" (also on Netflix). This is a fun cooking show where chefs compete in 15-minute rounds using ingredients found in the celebrity guests' personal refrigerators, which are delivered to the studio.

Also, many of the chefs were also featured on last year's popular Netflix K-reality cooking show, Culinary Class Wars, which will be returning soon for another season.

What's sad is seeing the artists' being trapped by their contracts. Gold Medalist should release anyone who wishes to leave, rather than allow them to be tainted by Lee Ryang & Kim Soo Hyun's scandals! But of course, this will never happen because these sociopaths' only concern is for themselves.
Because the original Network is tvN which broadcasts the episodes weekly, before Netflix is allowed to stream…
I just learned that Lee Chae Min's former agency is accused—among other crimes—of embezzling its artists' wages! LCM was with Gold Medalist (owned & run by the family of falling star Kim Soo Hyun) up until three days before BAYM premiered. I trust the actor's new agency, VARO Entertainment, will take much better care of him.
Oh, good for him. Distancing himself from Gold Medalist is not a bad thing. I suspect they must be too preoccupied…
It's even worse than that. Gold Medalist is revealed to have a fake paper company masking ownership and also is alleged to be embezzling its artists' earnings!
Did Lee Chae Min ever receive any of his earnings from Bon Appetit, Your Majesty? I read a news report that his former studio (Kim Soo Hyun's Gold Medalist) is accused of embezzling much of their talents' wages & royalties.
Weird too that sasaengs’ “browsing” don’t share this news:https://www.koreaboo.com/news/kim-soo-hyun-gold-medalist-agency-weird-finances-accounting-suspicious/
Weird also that not one of KSH's defenders replied to this post!
Lee Chae Min's former agency Gold Medalist is alleged to have embezzled much of the wages and royalties due to its artists.
On August 20, 2025, his exclusive contract with Gold Medalist ended. That same day, he signed an exclusive contract with VARO Entertainment. Bon Appetit, Your Majesty premiered three days later, on August 23, 2025.
Gold Medalist is mired in multiple scandals related to falling star, company frontman & part-owner Kim Soo Hyun (Marry My Husband) and CEO Lee Ro Be (aka Lee Ryang, KSH's half-brother, who is also dealing with scandals of his own), it appears likely that Lee Chae Min may never recover the back pay and royalties owed to him.
