Replying to life is a drama May 1, 2026
They will release it one day, they can't reshoot or do something like AI face swap POJ did this.
At best we get a belated KSH season 1. Season 2 will never happen considering they abruptly shut down the production midway. Maybe they can salvage some S2 footage to shoehorn into an extended S1?

You know, after reading some comments from the typical hypocritical Kdrama fans, I want to see Huiju end up with…
The ML risked his own life while saving hers, but the 2ML mysteriously bailed after promising to look after her when she took the boy king out for a joy ride in her winged sports car. These two men are not the same.

I think Disney should completely re-shoot both seasons of Knock-Off with Byeon Woo Seok (replacing KSH, whose ongoing scandals derailed that project.) I'm sad we didn't get to watch that drama. The premise is interesting to me. And Disney needs more hits, to help support their bottom line.

Poor little rich girl with a prince wrapped around her finger. He wants love but she wants power. I imagine Hui Ju will indeed become both CEO & Queen of the world. But I suspect what she really wants is her daddy's love. Can our FL find true & lasting happiness?

Holding a grudge like that is extremely petty and speaks to his own emotional arrested development. His child did not willfully cause the death of his wife. His own secrecy did. The child had lost her mother—her only parent up until that point—and was dropped off at the house. She didn't look him up in a family registry, find his address, and walk there.

FL's father had years to grow beyond his initial harsh reaction. Why didn't he? The FL has managed to mature despite her harsh upbringing.

Based upon replies to my original question regarding succession, it appears that there are only two heirs to the…
There really hasn't been enough focus on the nobility to provide much grist for palace intrigue. We don't have any likely suspects behind the deaths of either of the former kings (who died of a heart attack, and smoke asphyxiation, respectively.) There really is not much or any reason whatsoever to even suspect that there is a plot to eliminate the monarchy. And it's obvious that the automobile accident was premeditated to take out the FL, but not the boy king whose presence was unexpected.

Considering we've really only met characters from four noble families (Yun, Min, Han, & Kim), the only ones who are likely villains to destroy the crown are the political Mins. And the prime minister does not seem inclined to murder his best friend or the child king. (Or his other friend, the FL, for that matter—at least until & unless he succumbs to jealousy. But I digress…)

Mrs. Han is married to Castle group's heir (FL's brother), and does not seem likely to hurt anyone.

Ms. Kim remains the queen dowager's pick for an arranged marriage with the grand prince. She does have motivation to get the FL out of her way, and could be behind the auto sabotage. But she seems a bit too dim for the task.

The Yuns want to preserve the monarchy, via the young boy king. They are the best suspects in my mind as enemies of the FL, but not the crown.

Something's going on. I don't know what it is. But in any event, I doubt palace intrigue is going to dominate the plot. It's more likely to just provide hurdles for our main couple to surmount.

And should the whole royal family suddenly die in a freak accident, then the new monarch is likely some American bastard of a past royal tryst! 🤪

So far it seems logical, once all the threads have been untangled. You may be correct, but I really do hope that all this does makes sense in the end!

I think that when the ML's brother ascended the throne, there was no crown prince until his son was born. The ML has been grand prince since his own birth. Even after his brother became king, his status wouldn't change. And when his brother died the ML was still grand prince, but also holds the additional title of prince regent, which will expire when the boy king comes of age.

Ti02, you are the scholar historian of this board. Thanks again for keeping track of the dates and the character's ages and the little details!

Yes. As of ep 6 there is currently no crown prince. The next one would presumably be the boy king's eventual firstborn son. But both the current previous kings were each in turn crown princes in early episodes, prior to ascending the throne. (When the ML's brother became king he was no longer the crown prince and his son became the new crown prince at birth.) The ML has always been grand prince.

EDIT:MEA CULPA - my apologies for calling YeAn the "Crown" Prince. I meant GRAND Prince but this simply…
[edited. Hat tip to Ti02] At the start of the drama, we knew of 4 in the line of succession:
• the king (the ML's father, since deceased due to a heart attack),
• the crown prince (the ML's brother, was the next king, but died in the palace fire),
• his son (the ML's nephew was crown prince from birth until he too became king), and
• the grand prince (ML)

If the boy king were to follow his father & grandfather into an early death, the grand prince would inherit the throne. If the ML were to also meet his maker, then perhaps the monarchy would be dissolved? We don't know of any others in the royal line at this time. Perhaps there is a zygote in the FL's womb? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I bristled at that scene also. For all his strict upbringing, no one ever taught the prince proper gun control.

Yeah. I can barely keep up. There are some twists coming. Speculating can be a fun way to bide away the time until the next episodes drop, but I'm gonna just have to give it a rest and just wait & see.

Minor detail—he does have one blood relative—his nephew, the king. And I'm still confused about exactly how much power the royalty really does or does not possess in this world. I don't think it's strictly ceremonial, like with IRL constitutional monarchies. I think the sway the royals exert over the nobles is a form of power.

I'm also confused about why all the prime ministers come from the same family. If the position is elected, why would that be the result? (Are the Mins really so good at running the country that everyone keeps voting for them, generation after generation?) So I've been assuming that the PM is appointed by the crown, which would be another form of power. 🤷🏻‍♂️

they’re just small throwbacks, you’ll mainly see them on the epilogues
The first scene was a flashback to school days and that abrupt cut to her adult self as business ceo in the conference room could have been better executed. The time jump would be more obvious if a young actress had been cast to play her younger self. (IU mentioned this in a BTS clip. She had wanted another actress to share the role (as in WLGYT), but the production insisted that she play her character's teenage self).
