Wow, you are in it for the long haul. Personally, I absolutely dislike shipping real persons, I only ship characters. This is because I feel that shipping actual people takes their agency away. But, for the first time ever, I am finding myself on the edge of breaking this rule. I think it's because some of us want that kind of love and devotion that Im Sol and Sun Jae had. Or because LR caught our attention during a particularly vulnerable moment in time. I hope both find their person, if it's each other, then I guess everyone would be celebrating (and ngl, that'd be nice.)

Gotta say, it's a very cleverly written story. Viewers are probably taken aback by the outlandish direction and execution. A realistic depiction of this script would have be yawn-inducing.

Yeah. They should have tweaked the story. And they could have shown them reincarnating and remembering their love in the past.

I didn't mind the tonal shift. However, the modern portion seemed to lack the sincerity and urgency of the past.

I disagree.

I absolutely loved the historical part. The modern part wasn't executed well. The sageuk portion was deliciously angst ridden. It could have been a whole movie by itself. Love rewatching the sageuk bits.

Not to get pedantic here, but I think it's something to do with BWS voice and its texture. In the way he pronounces the words, there's a certain warmth and roundedness. It's kind of difficult to explain... Like why certain languages appeal more to the ears than others. Why certain songs sound best when they are sung by certain singers and not others, irrespective of their singing prowess. It's also to do with psychology. For instance, there's this song, Don't Dream It's Over. It sounds the best when it's sung by the vocalist of the original band, Crowded House. There's an acoustic version by Six Pence None the Richer. However, it just doesn't hit the same despite the fact that there's absolutely nothing wrong with their rendition.

To be honest, I don't mind if someone gives LR the lowest possible rating. What drives me up the wall that they diss those enjoying it and/ or calling them juvenile for liking it. How does my loving something matter to you??? If I were them, I'd give my rating and move on to other things. Not pop up here time and again to sermonise other people on how they should be spending their time and on what.

Actually, inspite of not spending too much time on side characters, what I meant was none of them seemed 2D. They all had their separate lives and motivations. I hate when time that ought to be devoted to the MCs is squandered. However, side characters cannot exist only because the script said so.

Is that the 19 year old Sol calling Sun Jae a creep scene? Did he get actually annoyed because of the realistic acting? 🤪 The perils of getting too into one's character.

Yet, the supporting characters don't seem to solely exist to prop the main characters and fatten the plot.

Also, there's actual, laugh out loud situational comedy that should be in a romcom.

It's implied.
