the cast and firstkhao's chemistry/acting skills carried this show tbh. the story and plot was okay but the cast really pulled through and made this an enjoyable series to watch. If it had been any other pairing, i think i might have dropped it. really goes to show their acting prowess i guess
interesting plot, good chemistry between the leads and some surprisingly excellent cinematography for a vert series! just wish the subs were better! lets hope we get a s2 as well
a really quick and easy binge that ended up being surprisingly good!! i would have loved if it had ended with more of an impact or an oomph or something but it was good nevertheless
great miniseries with solid acting, plenty of chemistry and some lovely cinematography! though i wish it was longer, a shorter format suits the plot better and makes it more impactful
i personally liked the other version better since it had much better development and plot than this one but this was still a decent watch - would be great if proper subtitles were available tho
a really good short drama! i wish the subtitles were better but this was such a well made project! choreography…
i just wish they didnt use so much female suffering to push the story forward, like the fate of ji niang and the courtesan house, and even the origin of the female villain
a really good short drama! i wish the subtitles were better but this was such a well made project! choreography and acting were quite impressive and the story wasnt overly rushed
it started off quite good but the entire middle portion felt wasted to me - it wasnt as intense as it could have been, and lost its sense of danger and urgency. towards the end, it felt catered to a more juvenile audience while i was wanting something more psychological and compelling
its good to pass the time but not excellent by any means
Perhaps the best and most realistic manipulation I've seen on screen! Their chemistry was so damn addicting and well acted, and the overall cinematography and lighting was so damn beautiful!
I loooved this show and I hope we see more of a similar quality from china. They killed it in 2025
i actually enjoyed this season a lot! it was more reminiscent of the first season and its constant narration and quick-witted, sarcastic humour which i kinda missed when watching the previous seasons
i get why people were upset about kikuchi but i liked the way it ended - it felt true to the whole point of the show which is to satirise the cliches and tropes found in bl 🤷🏽♀️
i absolutely looooveeee the trope of a younger dude becoming lowkey obsessed with his older mentor figure and becoming more hardboiled as the story progresses - and this story fits it perffeccctttttlyyyyyyy
Was not expecting this movie to be as good as it was after reading the manga and watching the anime, I didn't even know it existed until recently actually!
It was such an easy breezy watch that was really charming! Much like the other works of the story's creator, it was cute and somewhat thoughtful! I enjoyed it!!
it was definitely a cute, fluffy romance but i reckon they could have done soooo much more with the eps they had - some of the middle eps felt so slow then all of a sudden things got serious when there was only 3 eps left
i liked the conflicts they went through at the end, it was realistic and balanced out their fluffiness nicely but it really did need more depth and gravity, i didnt like how the writing barely got into it and then resolved it straight away
was a decent watch but early eps dragged on and ending eps felt too rushed :/
loved the bromance in this!
its good to pass the time but not excellent by any means
