personally, its strong for me - you can tell they find each other very endearing and don't want to be apart (all three of them really, but especially ZZ and BYT)
i loved this show so much, its got amazing wuxia scenes, great cinematography, some surprisingly in-depth themes around the conflict of killing/no killing, and most importantly, an amazing friendship between the trio.
ZZ's whole perspective on killing is that its a slippery ass slope and can incite others with a lesser moral capacity to do the same, and that his position/skill does not give him permission to be judge, jury, and executioner. As well as the fact that killing those villains wouldn't change a thing - they'd be replaced, and lauded as martyrs while the real heros would be vilified as outlaws.
Makes sense in the grand scheme of things tbh, but i did like how that didnt stop BYT and HLL from following their own moral standards and kill/injure when necessary.
I loved the bromance, I loved the friendship, and I LOVED that Ling Long wasn't just a damsel in distress. She had her own goals and shit to sort out and if the plot had leaned towards romance, that's all her character would be written for, taking away from her self-autonomy. imo, she is so drawn to BYT and ZZ because they show her respect and admiration, while she detests SJZ because he is condescending and views her as just a future bride.
the ending was great but it was also rushed. I would have loved to see how the hell ____ escaped that trap at the end!!!!
oh this is soooooooooo camp! i just know the actors had the time of their lives filming this lmfaooooooo how did they keep a straight face during their lines 😂
Everything 'My Roommate is a Detective' got wrong, this show got RIGHT. In their essence, they are both very similar shows but this one is not afraid to lean into the male leads' ambiguity, allowing the show to focus on the plot and their relationship - and with a short runtime, it ended up working greatly in the show's favour.
It was so damn entertaining and I haven't seen a character as lively and charismatic as Shao Shang in a long timeee - he is an absolute gem of a character and the actor plays him so well!!!!! so much expression and energy!!!!!
On one hand, I'm glad the ending introduces a season 2 continuation, but it's also frustrating because now we gotta wait for it!!!! let's hope it comes out sooner rather than later 😭🙏🏽

oh this was so fkn good!!!!!!!!! the cinematography was beautiful, the storyline was fresh and well-developed, the cohesion was fantastic and it was an overall terrific show! definitely a favourite of this year so far.
the acting was phenomenal!!!!! sea's role in the first ep and krist as the antagonist were especially memorable - they acted their fkn asses off!! sky n nani were incredible as expected; their micro-expressions and physical acting really made this a delight to watch, especially with all of the tension and chemistry between their characters. godji killed her role too! i loved the depth she had as fei! easily a 9/10 show
its a lovely slow burn, slice of life drama! i loved the realism of the story and characters and the way it brought up mature topics like handling mid-life career changes and having ageing parents etc,

at the end of the day, he's still a teenaged high school student in a relationship with an adult working at the school he attends. Anyone would side eye the fuck out of their relationship in real life but because its fictional, its whatever (i dont really care abt it either). problem is, their writing and development was just so lazy and insincere that it made their relationship seem more iffy and questionable
i enjoyed the fuck outta this hahahha it had a great balance of romance and yearning with political intrigue. I do wish the sister had more development in her relationship but it was enjoyable nonetheless

exceeded my expectations tbh! the characters developed a believable yet odd relationship knowing the other person was not who they claimed to be and it became an interesting and kinda twisted dynamic....but then they ruined it in the last two eps and got rid of all the mystery and made it just romance :/
i really do think they should have made the cop more formidable and capable, idk why they would make him so useless and then expect the audience to believe he's a good cop

it was pretty average but wasnt too bad tbh. If anything, the characters didnt feel fully explored as we got a very superficial characterisation of them. i ended the series not knowing anything about anybody except for what was written blatantly on the script.
