this wasnt so bad but definitely felt like a rough draft of a final product - it would have been more enjoyable as a series with more time for character and story development
the fights carry the show tbh, and though the bromance was good, you spend most of the film frustrated that one of them is icing the other one out, which felt kinda unreasonable to me lmao like he was lowkey a shitty friend for that (at least they were self aware by the end tho)
the ending being unsatisfying? maybeeeee, but its hella realistic and was defs a HE in my books
i think im a part of a very small minority that didn't necessarily enjoy this show like others have - it just felt too overdramatic at times and i simply could not get into it...
nothing was wrong with the acting but i found the storyline and writing a bit tedious - i think the characters' age and school environment limited the story for me, making the show feel like a prequel to a main story we have yet to see
my face when i found out the actors/actresses playing the teens were in their late 20s and mid 30s tho????????? wowee they did a great job!!
i loved how this show holds intensity until the very end and does that by having an antagonist that's actually…
i was hoping hyeon ju would return to help out in the final fight - i wasnt sure why they made her character exit so soon in the story? it seemed so out of character, wouldnt she be the first one seeking revenge? so why did she fk off to rome when things were unresolved????
if it had anything to do with personal vendettas against the actress herself, thats fucked up!! give me the extended saeron cut!! rip to the her :((
i loved how this show holds intensity until the very end and does that by having an antagonist that's actually a PROPER threat to our leads and their friends - like goddamnnnnn, episode 6 was brutal as fuck but its also why the show is so good!! because the stakes are high as fk and the end is no longer predictable
the eye candy is fuckin INSANE - props to the leads for working incredibly hard for that god-like physique, especially in ep 7 🔥 i love himbo characters so much lmao and they were perfect!!!!
the acting was great, especially park sung woong!!! I'm lowk scared of him, his ability to make expressions that are so intense and warped is phenomenal!!
defs recommend if you're in the mood for something with great character dynamics, amazing action choreo and an intense plot
I still don’t get why Jeong family had to die who killed them and what sentence he got
im assuming it will be explored in any future seasons but i just chalked it up as a burglary gone wrong and that he got sentenced to 3 cases of first degree manslaughter
the webtoon its based on might explain it but im unfamiliar with it
although the movie has a certain charm to it that the show was lacking, it was still really good and definitely worth the watch!
the fight choreo wasn't so convincing in the first 2 eps but i thought this issue was quickly rectified in the later half and then peakedddd in ep 6 - the fight in the last ep was so gooddddd, i was hypedddd
if only it wasn't so short! but at least its bingeable - lets hope we get a s3!!! would love to see U Sol continue to whoop ass
hard asf!!!!! its violent and brutal at times but the camaraderie and mentorship balances it out quite well so its not as bleak as you'd expect!
the fighting was really fkn good!!! though there was a portion near the end where it started to feel like those slapping competitions (except with punches) lmao i had a good chuckle when it just kept on going and going
i love the overarching theme of persevering through one's limits to break out of a self-destructive cycle of passiveness/submissiveness, it created the perfect space for some satisfying character growth!
after many years, i decided to revisit this and i gotta say, its a great way to spend an hour!! its absolutely hilarious and cracked me up with all of the exaggerated acting and expressions lmaooo
to this day i still hope they can remake this storyline into a full length show or movie that fleshes out both the serious and fun portions that were all crammed into 67 mins - its just too good to pass up! i totally love a solid underdog story
this was such a delight to watch!! the absurdist, hyper-violent fight choreo was perfectly balanced with the lighthearted comedy and heartwarming friendship!
gamin is such a cutie patootie and it was lovely seeing how he became a light in everyone's life!
it started off with a ton of potential that then fizzled out by ep 6 and gave us nothing at all in the last 2 eps...
production was great but the story literally went nowhereeeeeeee! nothing was really resolved either regarding BaWoo's anxious/avoidant attachment style or JiHun's utter cluelessness and dismissiveness - realistically, without fixing these issues, they would not last as a couple!
another phenomenal season with an incredibly stellar performance by park jihoon !!!
you can definitely tell that while the first season was more focussed on the characters, this season was plot-heavy and a clear continuation of the story
I'm reading these comments and seeing a lot of complaints (some totally valid) but after reading an interview with the show's directors, its clear that a lot of people's qualms with this season directly stems from netflix's involvement in the production - which sucks because we wouldn't get this 2nd season without them but as we all know, anytime netflix gets involved with something, it goes downhill fasttttt
either way i loved ittttttttt and will gladly tune into the next season where i hope sieun can finally chill with his boys
i like how chinese dramas showcase all sorts of uncommon careers and their importance. it would be nice if western shows started doing this too - it would definitely make it easier for teens to see how many different career options are out there in the world rather than choosing something common right before uni and facing job market oversaturation
i very much enjoyed the camaraderie and teamwork between our lil group but most of all, the bromance between our leads! loved how everybody wanted zheng ren in their team/hospital but he was 100% determined to have su yun join him - their chemistry was great and i wanted to see more of it!
i wasnt the biggest fan of this show because its quite imbalanced in showing the pair's happy and sad moments. We see so many cold moments between the leads and barely any happiness and warmth that when they get together, I'm sceptical about them as a pairing
also I'm ngl yoo jae pissed me tf off! the writing for his character sucked bc he was not very likeable! he wasn't very forward in showing his positive feelings yet was very quick to get aggressive when jealous/upset - not very attractive behaviour!
perhaps the best use of the gen Z maximalism aesthetic I've seen yet!! not to mention its a fantastic exploration of teen love and their messy relationships with one another - they make airheaded, frustrating decisions because that's what we all did at 15-17!!!!
the actors were so good and had great range! i hope they don't get contractually partnered with one another because it'd be really good to let them have projects with each other + others
its a really good project and will definitely become a landmark piece in queer media like itsay
its an enjoyable, interesting and educational series with some great moments of friendship between our trio and bromance with our duo but it really does slow down towards the end before it flashbangs you with that copout ending
man they did my girl so wrong at the end but i guess she did what she needed to do since the alloy metal necklace would in fact have melted/distorted in a fire of that intensity
more depth in the story would have made this a lot better but it was decent! i liked the undercover cop aspect and wished they'd expanded it more though

excited for s2!

great start, totally disappointing ending
