I'm liking this series now that i picked it back up but can someone pls explain to me wth was that first episode.…
I am assuming you started watching the first version which starts with Ranran and then it flashes back to the past? The official playback has been re-edited after CN netizens complained so now it progresses in a more linear fashion, showing the Animated Opener, the 'legend', and then Ep1 is Su Yishui hunting down some demonic cultivators in a graveyard...
The two different editions align back with Ep9 of the drama... Ep1-8 have a slight re-order.
the ML is not a demon. The demon's child is more like some 'vessel' capable of housing the demon spring... because his four pillars Ba zi is the most Yin. They have belief about birth times so Yin day, Yin hour etc
For me I never expected the FL to get back her memories at all. In fact I was dismayed that the drama gave her…
I saw it as a continuation of their fate rather than falling for a different person, because Xue Ranran is still the same person, its just that now they didn't have the painful memories of their past and are sharing new adventures.
The romance trope that bugs me, is falling for a possessed person, now that is a real slippery slope LOL which is the 'person' that is being loved? The possessed or the spirit that is possessing the body? Dramas like 'Oh my Ghost' and now 'Haunted Palace' serving those tropes up very deliciously ^^
should i watch the ori version or the rearranged version?? i am now watching the ori version ilegally (i have…
its just rearranged episodes from 1-8, there is no two completely different editions. First original version is Present Time, Ep1-2 flashback to past Ep3 - 8 ( 8 goes back to Present )
The new version is Past, from Ep1-6, and halfway in 6 it goes to the Present
just realized after watching, this is a mix of xianxia and wuxia right? leaning more towards wuxia? since both…
Yes the director Yin Tao has said its not really the usual xianxia because almost everyone is still at Cultivation stage.. their fighting styles is more wuxia esp Su Yishui who is quite a skilled fighter even before he started his training with MQG
That's correct. Male lead is close to 50 when they get married. And that's why FL teasing to call him "Su baba"/…
Su Yishui was only a teen when MQG took him in... most likely 15-16ish... he was supposedly 18 by the time she died... in the novel it took '20 years' for her to be reborn ( she also fell prematurely ) drama cut it down to 18... He should be around 36 around the time she is back anyhow..
I am confused about the ages of the characters....after 20 years shouldn't the ml ans sml be in their 40's and…
Su Yishui is 36-38 in the present time. He looks young because his face supposedly 'froze' when he was cursed with the Spell his Shifu placed on him. It was one of the points of envy for all the other cultivators who aged for the last 20 years ( in novel, in drama was 18 years ).
Everyone else was supposed to age, Su Yu as well, but I guess typical of dramas, they want to cast a younger man as second ml.
In fact in the novel, RR never regained all her memories. Both RR and MQG is the same at the core. She can pick…
I know they are running the same core OS but to me, Ranran and Mu Qingge are different people. As in they have experienced different things in their lives and have different bonds to others.
They are essentially the same because their soul, personality, moral values, thought processes, decision making is more or less consistent, but Ranran does not feel like she has to take care of Mu Ranwu, and neither does she need to. No matter what relations they had in her 'previous' life, its over esp after MRW basically murdered her with the help of outsiders. Ranran is also kind of more 'tough' in her dealings with others, when in the past she seemed to have more of a 'bleeding heart'. This was noted by Su Yishui when he seemed a little 'disappointed' when Ranran didn't beg for Bai Baishan because he expected her to be soft hearted like before. ( I think that line was only in the novel though )
So for me, Ranran should get to stay who 'she' is, there was no need for Mu Qingge's memories to need to 'download' into her to 'complete' her, because she is her own person. She does not need to be 'overwritten' and become MQG again so MQG can be considered to 'live' again. She truly got a 'second chance' with a new fresh life.
Has no one ever reached 100 million character heat index on iQIYI? And how do we check?
Yeah he is the first to reach that lol Diamonds really voted very very hard... just as they voted super hard on Tencent's character chart for Tushan Jing
Second place is Cheng yi for his role in MLC and its like barely half of Su Yishui's total...
To see this chart, we need the iQiyi CN app, which most of us cannot get. I can only access the web version of iqiyi.com and searching for 桃豆世界 gets nothing, so think its an app only function.

I am very very slow, but so far really enjoying all the tiny things I missed before...
Like if you look closely in Ep1, Su Yishui visibly swallowed hard when Mu Qingge was beaming at him so cutely hahahahah If Wen Hongshan didn't arrive with her sisters, I wonder what he would have done lol
Can someone explain the appeal of stupid chin\cheek armor in Wuxia dramas?
LOOOOOOOL no its a very very strange fixation on the part of those costume designers and guess what its spread over to the actresses' wardrobe too * gasp of horror *
Just reached 3/4 of the drama. It follows a lot of xianxia tropes (the downside of watching many of them is starting…
"one-dimensional npc students and servants" I feel what you say here, because in the novel, they had way more to do than in the drama. Yu tong had her own little mini arc, with a husband and child ( haha did you see that coming ) but now she is just reduced to background character.
Some people said this drama was too long but I felt LDT could have benefited from being a 50 ep drama. Another 10 eps would have managed to flesh out the camaraderie of the four students who have fun and also tough times studying, being punished together. All the effort of them studying is not shown at all, due to limited budget and air time I guess.
Those four were always going around having bbqs, truly enjoying the Xishan carefree student life, to the envy of the other sects. I missed seeing that shown in the drama.
hi, sorry to ask but what’s the spirit spring placed in sys body?
Actually I was disappointed that the drama made the Spirit spring seem evil. In the novel, it was just a force of nature that belonged to the Netherworld, and on its own it was an entity with great power that actually balanced that realm. In the past the human realm's first Demon lord tried to harness the powers for his own ends. In this time, its once again being stolen from where it should have been, so that certain people can harness its powers to win their wars.
When I think Spirit Spring, I think of Kaonashi, No Face from Spirited Away. It was tempted by emotions and greed of the human world, and it only wanted to 'play'. In the novel it begged not to be sent back home because its purpose there was too boring lol
FL has never show love to SML, she treated him like a good friend. SML’s love is one sided. When she knew about…
Even the SML knows, but he just enjoyed deluding himself hahahah But honestly there were some moments I felt MQG could have been more crushing towards him.

He was 36ish when Ranran is back... they got married after around 3-4 years
How did you get 50...

LOVING IT!

Just get on the train, no need to take too long to decide hahahah
Like if you look closely in Ep1, Su Yishui visibly swallowed hard when Mu Qingge was beaming at him so cutely hahahahah

He was a reluctant disciple but they were never really enemies?
