I think there is a time limit on reincarnating someone, thats why Dun tian missed the window to save his family, even if he wanted to try. Also I think the entire process is not like its a sure thing. SYS definitely could not have waited for that long before he started the entire reincarnation procedure. Actually this was the biggest difference between novel and drama. In the novel there was a twist at the end, which revealed that actually SYS did ascend. When he took the demon spring into himself, he did not get corrupted by it, out of his willpower and his love for MQG, so he was powered up enough to ascend as a demonic immortal, something Heaven was not ready for. That was why he was able to grow the tree and help MQG reincarnate which was not something that was easily done, because he gave up immortality itself. It was not just a mere cultivator's golden core. That was why SYS was so OP, which some drama viewers wondered at the reason. lol
I think because the drama wanted to simplify matters and did not want to deal with the immortal stuff, so they just changed it.
From the most honest bottom of my heart this deserves the purest 10.
Haters were rating this drama 1 even before the series started airing TT drama fans really did their very best to claw back from the 8.0 it fell to and up to this level... but this drama really deserves at least a 9!!

yes I have found that sometimes the bgm overwhelmed the dialogue track too sigh... Its also possible because some dialogue seemed to have been captured live so the quality of all the tracks was not the same level...

Its sad that they felt a need to change something that was already great... sigh... but seeing comments from different viewers I can understand because people tend to drop drama after trying for only a few eps so very few will make it to ep8 just for a payoff. And they will drop the drama way before.
Her role is a bit different from the novel bcos the novel doesn't have her love line for either suyu or another…
I also vote that MRW should have died. So many comments saying poor Fei hua why is she stuck taking care of her? Plus going mad is hardly repentance. She is literally an empty shell now.
She should have gone down like she did in the novel. Drama already 'saved' so many other bad characters already, we can use one death for a villain that was coming to her. Not everyone will 'see the light' and I doubt she did in the end.

There was audience feedback in CN where some felt confused at the longer flashback so they moved 3-8 to 1-6 and 1-2 to 7-8 ... the fan sub most likely kept to the old version and hence the confusion.
As a novel reader I liked the non-linear storytelling because it was similar to how the novel slowly revealed stuff, but sadly it seems in this day and age, people lack patience for slow reveals *face palms*
