Title Zhan Zhao Adventures Spoiler
FINALLY FINISHED IT AND IT WAS SOOOOOO SATISFYING! They tie up all loose ends, and the story concludes really well.

The pace was fast enough to keep me hooked but not too quick to the point that we can’t keep up with the story development.

The scenery was breathtaking, camera works amazing, and the fight scenes was oof 🤌🏻 mamma mia! The fight scenes were amazing, all the actors were convincing and did really well. They also acted well, every side character has their own flavor and no one was sidelined nor hollow. I love how every character has their own arc, even Zhan Zhao. The cases were pretty interesting.

I must note that I love all characters, even Shao Jizu. He performs exceptionally well in his final arc. His expression was so damn good. He is a man who put his utmost loyalty in the person he follows. He is fiercely loyal, unfortunately his loyalty was misplaced. I wonder if he is the love child of Prince Xiangyang with the woman he truly loved, because he seemed to put a bastard on an extremely high pedestal compared to his legal children (dang I forgot the word).

Jizu’s bracelet that showed during his dying moment also made me realize that he never really hated Linglong. He has always been so in love with her, but their paths just made them mortal enemies. Their relationship will always be my roman empire! Too many what-ifs exist between them both.

I also love how they wrap up the issue about Zhan Zhao’s poison in a subtle, little details. We just need to concentrate and watch it closely. Some people might’ve missed it and thus I’ve stumbled a comment saying that they somehow forgot Zhan Zhao’s poison when the answer was right there all along.

I also love the ending scene where Zhan Zhao wears his uniform and standing in front of Kaifeng Tribunal, meaning that this wraps up one of many cases he solve during his career as the Imperial Cat. The epilogue opens up a possibility of second season, but I think they might leave Linglong out, or no longer play a big part in his future endeavors as she nows bears the heavy responsibility as her Manor Leader.

I always love how the director keeps hinting very subtle romance and love triangle between Zhan Zhao, Linglong, and Jizu. Linglong’s feeling towards Zhan Zhao was pretty much confirmed, but the director keeps us guessing whether Zhan Zhao actually has a shred of interest or not. But the director keeps hinting that he might have a bit of feeling too that develop during their adventures. In the way he always smiles softly for Linglong’s attentive way, his anger when Jizu shot an arrow at Linglong, his softness when he calls her name, and in the way he always seems to see her only when she runs to him, despite many others beside her.

Overall, this drama is amazing. This is the very first Wuxia that I actually watch earnestly and finish on time. I love it so much and there was never one moment of boredom. I think it ought to have higher rating because for me it’s a solid 10/10! ⭐️

Title Zhan Zhao Adventures Spoiler
Judging from Episode 31, it was crystal clear that Xiangyang Wang's illegitimate son is Shao Jizu. He can't fake the longing in his eyes when he saw Zhao De Peng. As for Zhao, he must've been threatened by the Xiuluo spies who disguised as musicians.

But I am really curious about what Shao Jizu said. If it's not only for Linglone Eye, then why would Xiangyang Wang insisted on his son to marry Linglong? That's what makes me really curious.

And I believe Hu Xiao Chen is way more evil than the Zhu elderly guy. Zhu is indeed evil, but I can sense his sincerity and his hatred towards Xiangyang. The way he kept saying about the peace and stability of Wanshan County didn't seem fake either. Maybe he did all of that to protect Wanshan, like sacrificing a few to save the mass. On the other hand, I believe Lord Hu is way more evil and manipulative.

I was curious about medicinal ink so I asked Google. Here it is according to Google:Yes, medicinal ink is entirely…
Woah! Thanks a lot for the info, I was pretty sure it was a real thing, given how detailed they made this drama, but the explanation helped a lot in understanding the special properties of the inkstone.

There are 8 episodes left and so much to unravel. Two of Xiangyang's pawns hasn't been discovered either, but cases are piling up here and there. I wonder how they'd tie up all the loose ends. I hope they won't rush the ending...

Ugh, I just want to slap him every time he's on screen.
But he’s really good at playing this NPD character! He kept saying he hates Linglong in front of others but in actuality, his feeling is just hurt from her constant rejections! 🤣

Isn’t Bao’er basically a puppet emperor for now, since he’s still a child? I’m sure most of the actual…
He would either grow to be a wise emperor under the guidance of morally upright people like Qianqian (whom I believe would made tons of fair laws as she actually transmigrated from modern world), Changyu (we’ve seen how much she cares for the people, especially because she grows up in the village so she has more experiences and deeper care towards civilians than most nobilities), and Xie Zheng (basically Wei Yan 2.0, as long as Changyu is okay he’s okay, if someone or something endangers her I fully believe he would be even worse than Wei Yan).

But politics were never simple or linear. It’s not a fairytale that end with happily ever after. There would always be morally corrupt people in the court who sought power like Grand Tutor Li and the likes. So who knows? That’s why I’m actually really curious as how Bao’er would grow up to be because he’s basically the second Qi Sheng but with fundamentally better ministers.

Your last paragraph gives an eerie prediction of the future in the worst case scenario. It also concerns me how young Bao’er is when he ascends the throne with so many adults around him to “guide him”. He could easily turn into second Qi Sheng with a bit of psychotic streak from his father.

Also, his scene with Changning when he said when he rise to power he won’t do anything to Prince Regent and Great General Changyu feels so ominous and weird, hearing it from someone as young as him. Almost feel like that thought entered his mind for awhile. He was new to the politics so how come he already had that kind of thought? That means there’s already a sense of wariness towards Xie Zheng and Changyu in his heart.

If this story turns darker, who knows? Maybe one day Xie Zheng will turn into Wei Yan 2.0.

The Lin'an scene left me bawling my eyes out. Especially Wang shu and Man Di. But generally, everyone made me bawling on a workday!

Then, Wei Yan and Xie Zheng's scene made me cried my heart out. Like, Wei Yan loved him so much and cared for him like his own I feel my heart shattered!

Dang my eyes will be puffy tomorrow morning 3_3

Have you ever thought that at around episode 18 - 32 there were valid criticisms? I'm not a hater. Here it is…
I'm just sad that even such dramas can generate this amount of hate, it's just unbelievable the world we live in..

Um.. chill gurl, I didn't mean reviews like yours. This page exist for us viewers to discuss about this drama honestly. Opinions are subjective, of course it can be good and bad reviews, and viewers have various tastes that it's impossible to be liked by all people. What I mean is something like, as I quoted it

"This drama is so boring man.

trudging the first 10 episodes. How long is he gonna act like sick man. just going through those sleepwatching heghhh.."

"i watched ep 1 and quit in disgust, the acting is so fake and the dialogue is crude and/or silly. Very common with cdramas. The drama is a bunch of pretty scenes without real acting and content. So .... no to cdramas"

and

"Tian Xi Wei's reputation is really bad, she always have the same ugly bangs and cannot act. She is only in the same league with Ju Jingyi and Dilraba who are also known for not being able to act. They're not pretty but they think they are too pretty, with zombie make up and same hair styles so they refused to act.
Zhao Liying is an A-lister, TXW is not even close. She's paying the news to say she already reach ZLY's height of popularity."

I literally meant HATE comments, not honest comments based on facts, so chill up girl.. you're very entitled to have your opinions on this drama, nobody's judging you for it if you give proper elaboration and not just spreading baseless hate, especially towards the actress or actor.

Btw I noticed there are more and more haters swarming in the comment section of this page and other pages about this drama, this is genuinely infuriating. Previously, the comment section was wholesome and we got to express our opinions and discussed about the newest episodes, but I feel like there are more and more people who spread negative vibes..

Please, if you don't like the drama just shoo away, nobody is forcing you guys to watch this..

I don’t like it. It looks too bulky for her and betrays who her character.
OMG What a great observation! I didn't really mind it, but when we think about it, what you said made total sense! That's why her armor in Lucheng was much more fitted to her, rather than the Capital's armor. And I noted that the one she wears in Lucheng allowed her to move more freely, I believe to be lighter in terms of weight, and was more comfortable, hence more suitable for warfare and fightings. The one she receives for the ceremony and entering the capital was more colorful, bulky, and rather showy. It highlighted the difference of intention both armors were. One was tailored with sincerity and practicality, the latter was made to flaunt her as political move.

Can anyone shed light on me?
Are the cities in this drama fictional?
Is Jingcheng Beijing? (Literal translation means Jingcheng = Capital City right?)

Where is Longcheng? Where is Shengcheng? Why is their dialect really different from Jingcheng people and Yunan people?

Where is Gangdao? Hongkong? Are they Cantonese?
