I decided to watch this movie after deciding to ditch my school works and just chill.

It was a lighthearted movie, perfect for those who just want to sit back and kill some time. I loved how the main characters started off as friends and were able to get to know each other before getting into a romantic relationship. Their friendship became the foundation of their bond and I just personally appreciate stories like that. The lead characters are very charming because of the pure intentions that they managed to express throughout the movie. They were so carefree and cute! The actors were okay and did a good job on their roles, I believe. There was no any major drama or obstacle, so you wouldn't be stressed out or frustrated while watching it! I think it's something you can watch as you eat a bucket of ice cream in your pajamas!

First things first, this movie focuses more on the drama instead of the disaster. It's heavy on the background story of each character, which means it touches more on the audience's empathy. So if you're looking for a disaster movie with a bit of thrill, I suggest not to expect much from this movie. However, it all depends on your taste so I'm not saying it was a bad movie. I loved that it allows you to connect to the characters. It's just that the movie's approach is different from what someone would usually expect from a "disaster" movie.

Some part of the film felt like they tried to stretch it too much. I personally think that the "origin" of the virus was kinda lame and got me thinking, "that's it?" so I felt like it was unnecessary and that they could have come up with a better origin or history of the virus.

Perhaps one thing that allowed me to enjoy this movie is the fact that I watched it during the quarantine due to COVID19. It's like seeing a whole sense of reality inside the movie. The panic, the lock down, the hoarding, the spreading of the virus. If you're looking at this movie right now in your homes because you want to watch something related to our current situation, then yes I would suggest you watch it. I believe the movie was able to exhibit the importance of staying inside your house, social distancing, and basically everything they tell you to keep yourselves safe.

Also, you might cry.

PS. I gave 2.0 for the rewatch value simply because I don't really rewatch stuff. It doesn't mean it's real bad.

I LOVED THIS MOVIE SO MUCH!!!
Okay, no, I haven't read the manga before watching this. So I was able to enjoy the movie without any expectations. (I tried reading the manga after watching the movie though!)

Let's talk about what I didn't like in the movie. Actually, I'm a sucker for the student-teacher trope (oh how I love Close Range Love and Sensei), so I decided to watch this in 2017. However, I didn't like the character of Shishio sensei. It was so obvious that he was trying to get closer to the female lead, in a different way. Like, who gives you a nickname out of nowhere? And given the situation (that a teacher like him shouldn't fall in love with his student), I just think he wasn't thinking and acting his age.

For the things that I liked about the movie, there's quite a lot. First would be the story and flow of the film. It was very lighthearted and fun, it's a perfect thing to watch if you want to relieve some stress and just have a good free time. It's your typical school setting, so of course some things are going to be childish. But they're not annoying at all, so it's fine! I love the character development of Nekota Yuyuka! The way their friendship blossomed and the way they tried to be as best of a friend as they could be for each other, was so cute and sweet to me. Mamura is very adorable! Like really, really adorable. He always made me want to protect him! His character was so sweet.

The setting and background were great. I don't remember much about the music, but since I didn't hate it, it was probably okay lol.

Watch out for the ending! It was perfect ♡

I remember loving this when I first watched it in high school. For years, I claimed this drama as one of my favorites and always recommended it to other people. I decided to watch it again because I wanted to feel something. But my opinion about the drama has changed.

I am not complaining about how the they wrote Nanhee's story—someone who is constantly beaten up by other people about her unconventional appearance and is often stripped off of opportunities because she doesn't fit their standards. No matter how much we hate to see it, this issue happens in real life. It may seem like an exaggeration, especially when the actress playing Nanhee is actually pretty, but this happens to some people. And I love how they portrayed it. Those with low confidence about their appearance would definitely feel for Nanhee.

I'm mainly bothered by Segun and Nanhee's story. Segun was really rude to Nanhee without the ring; insulting her a lot of times and harshly saying that he's not attracted to her. While I do understand that his harshness was meant to showcase Nanhee's reality, what baffles me is that this is Segun we're talking about—her love interest. It's really weird for me to see a man constantly beat up a woman about her looks then end up falling for her, dating her for real, and everyone else being okay with it as if he never treated her badly. Not reciprocating her feelings was valid, but the insults were just unbearable. Imagine dating someone who could have sworn they would never like your face.

I still enjoyed some of the scenes, but I guess it just made me confused whether I want them to end up together or not. I didn't feel as giddy as I did before.

The story just really warms your heart as it tackles the various relationships of people: with their sibling, their partner, the friend they have feelings for, and their parents. Each character have different issues that made them go back in time. Some of them have regrets, untold feelings, or things they want to find out but can't connect to the other person anymore. However, due to the rule that whatever you do in the past won't affect the present, these issues were not solved by time traveling. Instead, the characters had to pick themselves up from the present and continue their lives from there. Only this time with more understanding and courage.

The movie tells the viewers that we can't change the past and we should not spend our present regretting over it. Because it's the present that determines how our future would be like and whether the misery of the past was worth it. Another lesson is depicted through the line "drink your coffee before it gets cold," which basically says that do whatever it is you need to do before it's too late. Live in the present while it lasts.

I loved the movie for the stories and lessons. It was able to make me cry and fall in love without being too heavy or overwhelming. Although some of the aspects of time travel may not make sense sometimes, it's not much of a big deal if you won't let it get in the way of appreciating what the movie wants to show. Watch out for the old couple because they sure are my favorite!!! The way the old man smiles at his wife every time she gets happy looking at the fusion of coffee and milk just gets me every time ugh.

PS. Ito Kentaro is so cute and his character is just lovely. I already lowkey liked him before, but I officially have a crush on him now!!!

This drama will play with your feelings

At first, I thought the plot of this drama was interesting so I decided to watch it. There was a lot of cute scenes that made me go awww, but for the most part of the drama, it was just me getting mad over the characters.

Shen Yi lied. Sui An covered up for Shen Yi which caused them to make more lies. Shen Yi can be a bit manipulative sometimes, but it's very, very subtle that some people might think he's just being sweet. I also had a lot of doubts about Shen Yi's feelings for Meng Hui so that was very frustrating. Xu Xing Yao is so fricking annoying, I just wanted to smack her face throughout the entire drama. Xiao Ba's presence is so unnecessary and annoying. Some factors of the story also irked me a bit; sometimes when Meng Hui changes into a different person, I just couldn't wait for her to go back to normal.

I said that this drama will play with your feelings because it did with mine. It made me want to ship them together, but it also made me want them to just break up. A lot of times I felt like the situation was unfair for Meng Hui. I got mad a lot of times. Some parts I wanted to cry (but I didn't). Some parts made me feel giddy. Some parts gave me trust issues. You would root for Shen Yi, but then he does something dumb and you'd want to punch his face with a chair. However, one thing that I liked about Shen Yi is that he was very patient with Meng Hui's disorder no matter how tiring it must have been to cooperate with her. I really had the most issue with the characters because a lot of their actions didn't match the way I wanted them to handle things. But I guess if the characters did what's right all the time, the drama would have been too perfect, too unrealistic and less relatable for the viewers. I think the drama was able to grasp the complexity and flaws of individuals and relationships.

I liked the supporting characters the most; Wei Lei, Ah Tao, and Xiao Mei. The side couple is something you can look forward to. Their parents and co-workers are very supportive too, so I appreciate them as they added a light element to the story. Shen Yi and Sui An's friendship is also cute. The OSTs are great and that's one thing I love about it!
