Shen Yi is just making one lie after another

*MAJOR SPOILERS*I'm giving this episode a 5/10 because I do not like how Shen Yi and Sui An handled the situation. Shen Yi already know the truth about Meng Hui being the girl he hurt back then and he knows that Meng Hui is unable to forgive the boy who left a scar on her face. Shen Yi wanted to tell her the truth at first, but it seems like he couldn't properly put it into words. He couldn't say it directly, which is why Meng Hui misunderstood the situation and thought it was Sui An who hurt her when they were kids. Sui An decided to cover up for Shen Yi and Shen Yi allowed him to do so. That's just not right??? Shen Yi is only succumbing to his fears. I know it's not easy for him to do what's right, knowing that he might lose Meng Hui if he reveals the truth. But Meng Hui doesn't deserve to be in this situation. Shen Yi proposed to Meng Hui while lying about his identity, and she ignorantly said yes. She doesn't even know if Shen Yi is indeed the person she wants to be with because she doesn't know his past. I just hoped that before Shen Yi took bigger steps in their relationship, he should have told her the truth. She deserves to know the truth and she deserves to evaluate her feelings for the person who changed her life. I just feel so bad for Meng Hui because her current situation is so fabricated. It's like she's made to be happy right now, only to make it even more painful for her later on. Shen Yi proceeding to lie about the situation and allowing Sui An to cover up for him is just plain selfish.

The first episode is good enough to keep me interested.

There's nothing much to see in episode 1, but it's enough to tell you what you need to know and to make you anticipate the next episodes. They already introduced a lot of characters and it gives some hints on their past. It took me a few days to finally give this drama a try because I thought it would bore the hell out of me, but thankfully, it didn't. The cinematography and effects are also good. Judging from the last few minutes, it seems like a huge portion of this drama would focus on their high school days as it unravels the history of the characters and their relationships.
