I wanted to like these couples more than I actually did. HillTer were doomed when Ter was made to behave like…
I think Ter/Hill remained two sickly shades of white, which is such a shame as both actors are capable of much more. They could make a very dark project together and that would be interesting. I agree whole Johan thing was a bit odd, but I sort of worked out it was the only that he could express himself, the back story then explained it. I think they could have played the comedy harder, because they both have natural comic timing. Its like they had some high performance cars and took them for a meander around country lanes. Pleasant but unexceptional
I must be the only one that thinks its all the old tropes repackaged but still predictable. I am not saying its…
If it had been funny perhaps it would work better. I love a bit of trash, and I am bored, and the leads acting is pretty wooden, probably how its directed.
I must be the only one that thinks its all the old tropes repackaged but still predictable. I am not saying its…
Its relying on eye candy to gloss over the same old conventions, ie the women faints and she falls in to his arms. The two back stories, agh. The 2L's who think they are in with a chance, as if you not do not know there is absolutely no UST. There are a lot more, but you get my drift.
I love this drama! I also love the fact that adults are acting like adults.
I must be the only one that thinks its all the old tropes repackaged but still predictable. I am not saying its terrible but swop the sex of the leads and it would be even more obvious.
Yotha is getting a dose of social exclusion, the is no point in confronting him because he will just become defensive…
I have been thinking, while cleaning, and Wa is also doing the same to Yotha. That club is virtually Yotha's home, his safe space and he keeps showing up there, and everyone wonders why he remains so angry, its like picking at a healing wound. Wa may be Newton's friend but he should think more about his brother and tell Wa you can not come here if Yotha is here, if only to try and stop the trigger. He just sits back and watches the floor show, and shakes his head. In life you do not practice failure, if something is not working change your approach. The main thing that gives animals and people security IME is routine and predictability, and I think the tie is a metaphor for someone being reliable, Yotha gets upset when that is not there.
The Wa's explanation if still feeling responsible, he may not realise it, but its just a justification for his behavior, and again makes him feel important and valued. He is like a cheap sweet looks nice on the outside, but actually leaves a bad taste.
I love a grey shade plot, its more realistic, life and people are rarely straightforward.
Yotha is getting a dose of social exclusion, the is no point in confronting him because he will just become defensive…
I see Wa as more manipulative. You spend your time in your ex's brothers bar until late without your boyfriend, when you know your likely going see your ex, and your boyfriend will get upset. He likes younger partners that are a needy, so its not like he doesn't know what the result will be. He looks caring because he appears to stopping him from fighting but actually his repeated actions are the start of the problem, because Kloa is unable to control his emotions and he knows this, and makes Kloa look bad. I think Wa likes a feeling of superiority and control, the whole binary numbers thing, a bit smug. I am a better boyfriend because I put up with Kloa. He actually leaned into that kiss, and then later he shows concern because his boyfriend is injured but doesn't actually physically reassure him and stay with him, and says will feel responsible for his ex until he finds a new partner. What a dick. Do you do that to someone you love? It all sound very reasonable but it is more like gaslighting, I wonder if he did that to Yotha but he was smart enough to realise what he was doing, and that is why Yotha doesn't like him although he may have loved him, because he was being played. In real life I am a great believer in judging people by their actions, not what they say.
I would’ve said the same thing until I saw his standalone episode in Pachinko…he’s a good actor just has…
There is an interesting discussion with Jason Issac's( Harry Potter) about the role of an actor and the script/direction, this may be the right clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2fZbmdwszs A good actor can only make a script work if they are allowed choices, and sometimes the director, who is in whole charge will limit those choices. Directors like Clint Eastwood just let the actors do their thing with very little direction, so actors want to work with him, usually for not a lot of money, his films are always on budget. The 'bean counters' want a hit, and that is usually doing the same thing, using the same actors, doing the same sort of roles, an actor can only play the roles offered. This why drama and movies have become so predicable. I thought LMH did a really good job in Patchinko, he has real screen presence, I am watching Silo and Tim Robbins has the same sort of heft. Some people still want him to play the pretty boy, so there is a market for that and most of us need to earn money to pay bills. Perhaps like Hugh Grant he will come back in fifteen years as something completely different.
Yotha is getting a dose of social exclusion, the is no point in confronting him because he will just become defensive…
I like the fact that it shows relationships in a more realistic, most of us will have exes for various reasons, and a split is often for a good reason, even if it didn't feel like it at the time. I also like the fact that Boom gets to play something more than often a passive character, and his character likes a type of partner, Does he like the drama, and plays mind games? Was the kiss a bit of pay back?
I'm not really sure why everyone thinks that Gun's forgiven him because of the kiss when I really don't think…
Yotha is getting a dose of social exclusion, the is no point in confronting him because he will just become defensive and aggressive. I think Gun is working out what is going on, he is still hurt, and didn't kiss him back, but he is trying to understand, even Yotha says he doesn't know what to do. Its symbolic that Yotha follows Gun, because that it means Gun is actually more in control.
I **really** need Gun to hold Yotha accountable for him kissing Wa. Even though we as the audience know why they…
I actually think Gun not confronting him is good thing, because he has time to process what he has seen, he has never experienced this before, and the fact he does not argue with Yotha gives Yotha nothing to fight against, which seems is the only way he 'solves' problems. If arguing with Yotha worked he wouldn't be in this mess, he because he expects to be hurt, so he come out swinging and makes every thing worse. Gun has put him on the naughty step, which is basically how you teach small children good behavior and how to play nicely without violence.
Dramas that are the most human and real are always the best. Human villains are simply more terrifying than cartoonish…
I watched a Chinese commentator on Youtube, I think she is Chinese, and her opinion was culturally they can never allow themselves to admit they are wrong, so its hard to accept others ideas. As a mum the greatest kick is when you have taught your daughters something and they are so much better at it than you, and learning how they think of different ways to do things. My daughter has just had her first baby, I think the only thing I hope I have taught her is to do what works for her, and as long as you have thought something through you made the best choice you could at that time.
I am so impressed with the script, starts of as something pretty much standard, you can almost see the plots points and then diverges in to a road trip movie, is perhaps more sexy than Taming of the Shew but It Happened One Night (1934), when word play was more foreplay because of the Hayes Code. http://www.thecinessential.com/it-happened-one-night/modern-romantic-comedy
We completed it last night, watched over two days. We watch a lot of action movies, and if we had know how good it was going to be we would have watched in one go on a afternoon. It basically a movie divided up, and if you like blood and a plot that keeps pushing forward, with a bit of black humor, no stupid side plots, and no tagged on token romance, its great entertainment. I think the confusion in the plot, which is pretty simple is basically down to costume design, they all look the same, which I supposed is the point of the film. Who are the 'good' guys?
It gives me the vibe of a watered down fifty shades of gray XDNot my cup of tea at all.
Now if had a dose of Secretary (2002), that would have been interesting. All that time on my own and I would have been looking for ways to fill it. I would have started with a better wardrobe.
Spoiler Alert: This Show Is Ruining My Life (And Literary Analysis Skills)After Episode 7 of The Heart Killers,…
If you take modern drama reference its Wang Yang, who in The Fearless and Stand or Fall, his character takes 30eps to decide whether to screw them or screw them over. There is no fun in a knock out punch. Cleaning cupboards, I may come back to this.

Is it more Romeo and Juliet, two households both a like in dignity, both warring with two sets of two lovers, and guns instead of sword fight? Everyone forgets there are three killings in R&J If its was Shakespeare, who always played to the standing pit, we are missing the comedy side commentary, and the pop at the pompous. Where are Mark and Neo when you need them?
We can agree that this was a mess right? In good way (the brothers are so dramatic, why did you undress him Fadel?…
I can count on the fingers of one hand the amount of film and dramas that accurately depict moving a body, I have moved dead and unconscious humans, it a drama fantasy, like women wearing perfect make up in bed. I get the Kant/Bison impression but I think most men are very good at living their lives in compartments, what Kant may be saying is fake because he he saying something what he thinks he should say, not what he really feels. He has more at risk, his brother, so that is his reason for taking risks. IME men rarely tell you what they feel. Bison. You only torture what you care about, you want a reaction, the care may be hate, why spoil the fun killing them, you are regaining control. You want to demean that person to show how little they mean to you, or like a cat playing with a mouse you get a thrill from the experience. I actually thought the episode was interesting, relationships are often complicated, you can often hate parts of the person you love the most. If you slam a door in an argument, or in this plot kill someone, you to not get a further chance to vent, or make up.
This has been on my TBW list for a while. Having just tried to watch a few UK/US detective drama, this is so refreshing, The male is as usual brilliant.
Who every does the set dressing deserves and award. I don't think since Moonlight Chicken I have seen sets that actually looked lived in, so you get a sense of place and time. I hate songs as part of a plot, and usually skip them, but even the rap was not bad.
