Cdrama has not given that level of complexity and analysis of diff characters in recent years. Its good that atleast I am able to enjoy straight cdrama again with splendid match and mo li. Otherwise my watchlist is just filled with bl.

But in novel did he? Or this is just in drama. Because in novel i haven't read this part.

Correct for me also it depends highly on mood. The biggest mistake I watched "your name engraved herein'" before knowing the catholic beliefs and Taiwan history. I was not understanding a thing.

Also pretty strange i am also wanting to watch bad buddy, sotus, tharntype. But oh god the no of time i have dropped those series i can't tell u. Specially tharntype. Similarly eclipse ( bl) i didn't understood. I don't know why these old niche bl dramas just don't click me.

After this I surely need therapy and cute dramas like when oranges fall.Rest toxic dramas can wait. Am literally questioning with these many dramas(bl, straight) how I am supposed to live a normal functioning human life???😅

Ep 12 trailer is soo sweet. Looks like we are getting ep1-2 vibes in last ep. I see lufeng going under treatment. Which is good and is needed. How to wait till Friday????

Viki has two things right. One is free episodes that it comes late and viki pass which let user see ep quickly. If i am not wrong currently mo li has released 7 ep and in viki pass( i don't have) it released 5 ep and for free 3 ep. Viki free ep just release one ep per day for user to watch.

Now, coming to ur ques about my waiting part. I have all the reasons to not take viki pass if I am not convinced enough. But none of these relates to my emotion or state of waiting. It has no relation.

No i guess u are misinterpreting my post. I have disney plus sub, Amazon prime sub, netflix sub everything. But if in Disney+ i am not finding this drama because of region restrictions what can I do? I don't want to get viki sub because of my personal reasons as that app crashes a lot. Lot of times, it just gets stuck at one screen and u can't see any controls of back or forward or anything. That reason only is my major concern of not taking viki sub. Plus lot of chinese app like iqiyi or wetv is banned in my country. We don't even have tiktok so what can I do? Also about schedules i am not saying to release all 40 ep in one go and give me preference over residents of China.

Sometimes users have this kind of comment not for the sake of saying that ok just release it for the free in all go. Where u want to enjoy everything free without paying or understanding platform's position. But sometimes u need to understand people can't stream in official platforms because of govt restrictions. My post about viki is in a way that waiting for ep is hard. But it's definitely not in a way u are interpreting or complaining about my pov of platform altogether.

Yeah by no means i am going to drop this drama unless it's too boring. Yes I love character depth and we got that in ep1 and 2. It's just that till ep2 plot is what I am not understanding. I love stories with both character depth and plot. So far it's still very early to judge and like u said ep4-5 is plot twist. Which I think is still early. But it's good because once I get plot i will be more invested in drama.

From 2nd ep, i would say the way dialogues were written is so good. The caps part and the way ye li don't just quickly adjust to capital life but is taking time to adjust and compare is such a fresh thing to see.

The way ye li just understood that prince ding is not coming out of study because of that astrologer lv. And the way she goes to seek his identity search shows she knows how to read the situation.

It was sad to see the life of prince ding the one who was lively, fun, strong person to get converted into a life where he just became the prisoner in his own residence, the way he just do whatever he was told and quietly suffer, he who hates pity, he who has fought with the army and still lost legs but more than that it's sad to know that he got misunderstood by his own people and that whole altar thing...it was soo sad to see that he was just got limited to a subject who should take all the beatings and punishment for whatever happened that night. And ye li understood it.

Their whole interaction in the bath scene, she knew he don't want to talk about that punishment. So she just said about her life in mountain to keep him company. I loved that. And ep2 made me confirmed about the part that ye li actions towards prince ding is very caring because of the past encounter and little bit of admiration from that time. I loved that she notice prince ding's movement whether he is taking meals or not. Whether he is sick or he is copying sutras in dark or not. She is a detailed person.

Also that maid of ye li with whom she talk on a deeper level and sleeps. Idk such a sister bond. Ye li seems to be very deeply attached with her and seeks comfort in her. I like their bond.

Ye li came out to be a mature, observant of her surroundings and take actions accordingly, caring and devoting person as of now.

However, i am just very much curious to know what exactly is the connection between lishan academy and politics that is taking place in palace. How that affected everything because that seems the root cause of everything that's going on. But i know it will take time to disclose this.

Why don't viki just released all episodes as it airs. 😕

Watched 2 episodes. And i would say by first impression i think i had too much expectations from this drama. Not that it's bad but it's also not too good. Pretty average. But since it's too early to judge i would like to see how this drama goes as the story progresses.

I wish I can go on and on about xiang lu. God those two season wait for nothing when FL never even understood that xiang lu loved her so selflessly. He was one of a kind. I can't discuss here as this is not correct place. But the way cdrama portrays their character idk i always get amazed by their level of writing.

With all due respect I disagree. In my opinion, i think stockholm syndrome is when someone tortures other person and the other party starts feeling deeply attached to the person who is torturing them.

Here, the case is different at least in my opinion. Both yichen and lufeng loved each other since the starting of series. Although they were separated for a very long time they still loved each other. So when lufeng tortured him even during non consensual sex for the first time or office rape or after imprisonment I see lufeng and yichen as two lovers who are giving pain and torture to each other. But still love exist between them before that.
That's why I don't think their relationship is based on stockholm syndrome.

Yes u can argue that after this near death experience of yichen. When yichen will choose lufeng it can classify as stockholm syndrome. But even then the novel made it very clear that yichen still loved lufeng even when he was bringing guys to sleep or showing affection to ke lo was sparking jealousy in yichen for that very reason. Also in novel it was again cleared by stating from yichen's pov " i know I should hate lufeng. I know i have let down all the people around me. But what is this feeling deeper than hatred. " And the ans was love. So time and again yichen chose lufeng not because of stockholm syndrome but because he still love lufeng.

But having said that i actually am very new to the concept of stockholm syndrome and it's a topic that needs to be dealt with care. I will read about this topic more from my side.

The problem is that i specifically made MDL account to discuss freely. I commented this much in this drama section because I had lot of emotions towards each character whether lufeng or yichen or anyone or the situation. I just wanted to say what I was feeling and who knows get some relief from my heart. And sadly, now my whole opinion idk if it's still my opinion or a influenced one. Idk where I stand wrt to the characters.

I just love layered characters. U get to explore each side of a character one by one or all together. Writing that level of character is hard. And even more so acting.
Maybe i should just stick to chatgpt for any kind of conversation because atleast even if chatgpt has to agree or disagree, it doesn't attack me.

The amount of comments i made( which i don't know why) and seeing other people comments. They literally tried to convince that lufeng deserves all hate and yichen deserves all love and care and protection. And that made me ques today that wait this is not what the story is. The story is fictional and taking sides and real life comparison is ok. But thats what not this story is trying to portray. The story is about two people who deeply love each other at one point got separated and the gap widens and it came to the point of no return eventually. But then again the story is about them at the end to be together( we are getting happy ending as shown in today's trailer) so they chose each other.

Sure add all complexities, morality and what not. But the story is at the end about them. Both love each other and both suffers. One just let suffering say and one just endures. One just actually mean what he promise and never let go of the person he deeply love. And one just isn't courageous to take the stand and instead sabotage sometimes.

These comments omg were so much on taking stand mode either lufeng or yichen. Portraying that yichen is the victim( which he is) but at the end why time and again he goes back to lufeng( eg- after separation by marriage). Again people coming to say that as if lufeng will not find him and what not. But that time yichen went on his own will. Lufeng didn't found him. So i can't believe the concept of stockholm syndrome here where love was already there and then even after separation and no codependence yichen still went back to lunfeng. Also people are forgetting that lufeng also suffered. By separation, by not getting closure and suddenly yichen just came to ask for forgiveness. Who can ever forgive and not be angry?

Again do not preach me here moral values and ethics that lufeng did wrong. I know he did wrong. I am not defending him.

Last time I saw these kind of strong sides and attacking is when I was watching Pursuit of Jade. Where people were only have one choice that is to like the series. Here also, i am feeling same energy that u need to hate lufeng. Why to impose a certain opinion? Why to take sides?

I wish in series they would have portrayed that how yichen was also not able to let go of lufeng.

Tbh i Happy that this series is ending. Because this drama and whole take stand thing has spoiled my emotional health.

I think she faced a lot during her time in mountain. And something related to her mother. Not sure I just completed watching ep1

First ep was good as one can expect for a starting. For the first time I felt the marriage part done so well. After watching so many dramas marriage had became another event for me. But after so long i am feeling marriage is such an important event in one's life specially for a girl.

The way ye li was shown that she don't expect much from this marriage or prince ding. She just wanted to escape mountain li academy. She was away from the capital but she turned out to be a smart women . She keeps memory between her and her mother the way she remembers that her mother told that her father loves both her mother and ye li. But when she see her father in present time she felt ignorance or unwanted. And they portrayed in drama well by mentioning his father didn't even saw ye li after she came back for 2 months and how her father just said that ye li should walk down till her carriage and not being carried. Just mats were enough to not ruin ritual and this ig her father said because ye li was going to marry in royal family. He just don't want people to gossip. But the way ye li was little bit hurt not that she was expecting anything but still it's her imp day. Then the way she handles prince ding was so good. Idk i just felt care and love from the way she talked. Maybe i am imagining things.

It will be interesting to know prince ding pov about what he thinks about ye li and this marriage and who is he as a person. But from first ep I think he feel that ye li has destroyed her life by marrying him. Also i feel like he is a very calm, observant person.

One thing that confuse me is why after seeing ye li going towards prince ding carriage, prince li was for a moment clutched hard on that horse tie. Like he is little bit disappointed that ye li is marrying prince ding when he broke the engagement. I would want to know his part.

Lol.But atleast this drama despite lot of flaws it does engage people with plot. Even people who hate lufeng are still watching and not dropping. Says a lot.

I am thinking that this drama will rate at 7 at the end after reading all these comments.

Tbh this is the ques that is very imp in their relationship. Because after this only they truly understood their feelings for each other and decided to be together. The constant torture and emotional pain they caused they decided to finally let it go and just be with each other...

I have never said that he didn't raped him. I am not understanding why after 2mins everytime everyone just automatically assumed that I support lufeng actions. Since u mentioned it's about lufeng only. Yes it's about his selfish nature. But it is also about choosing each other. It's about revenge to leave him yes. But it is also about the showing pain he went through. If it's about lying and hiding about the brother's status it's also about him again not wanting to loosing yichen again. U wanna call it selfish go ahead. But his actions was not just selfish it has mix of other emotions as well. Imo one can't just focus only on one emotion of a character and think that all his behaviour comes from this. Lufeng is abusive for sure. I never denied that. Idk when and how u sensed that from any of my comments or any of my words. I have said it earlier that lufeng is abusive and is a criminal. But yichen is also toxic. The one who just run away from problems instead of facing them in a mature way. And please it's not only about the hospital and his mother. Also if lufeng wants to be with yichen in public then what's the problem here? Yichen also wanted that isn't he? Or he want to keep their relationship in dark? In that case just say simple. But if also wanted to let their relationship come out in public then why he never took any action for it? Again time and again why he went back to lufeng? When lufeng passed out at hospital yichen decided to be with him after raped at office. Then after 5 years why he went to lion's den himself? What he was expecting? Forgiveness after 5 years of ghosting? In office yichen already said that he is not interested in job. Then why again when lufeng wanted to talk about job he went to his house? It's his fault. He expected to explain things after 5 years. He expect lufeng to understand and forgive him. Why?

U are choosing and taking Yichen's side. For me both are toxic. I am not taking either side. Nor i do see their happy ending. It's a fictional toxic love story. With disclaimer. People here are well aware of what they are watching. And understand who is what. Whether lufeng or yichen..if you think that someone is defending lufeng actions please before attacking anyone understand full picture. U don't know me so please refrain urself in making statements on personal level. Reason being rape is a very sensitive topic and the very fact that whole comment section here is filled with this word concerns me. It actually shows the level of toxicity this drama has.
