I'm probably the only one who sees it that way, but I'll write anyway... In my opinion, the main couple had no…
I do partially agree, I would have much preferred someone else as Jiwon, not at all credible as a gymnast, lack of charisma, to be honest I don't even know how someone could fall in love with a guy that is as plain as a cardboard. Also, if in the novel the lead is a professional gymnast, an Olympic medalist even, for God's sake you cannot pick someone that looks like a scaredy cat that has never run half a mile in his life, just because most KBLs insist on this concept of "the muscular big guy who falls for the cute, little, plain guy." They could have chosen better.
However I did see some chemistry between them, and Choi Jae Hyeok made the series overall enjoyable for me (the first 4 episodes more than the last 4).
Overall a good watch! I feel like the first 4 episodes were stronger than the last 4, but overall a nice watch. Most of it due to Choi Jae Hyeok, not only a candy to the eye but also (and most importantly) a very good and promising actor! I loved his expressions, his eyes, his movements, he really did a great job. However I do not feel the same about the other lead, first he was the absolute least convincing person ever to have been a professional gymnast (an Olympic medalist even!), both physically but also in terms of character/personality. They could have chosen a different sports, darts or something, I don't know, or a different actor altogether. I felt like the "angst" towards the end was there just for the sake of being there, it was not properly lined out nor it made much sense. Not that Jiwon's inexperience or concern about rumors/people were not understandable, especially given that it's Korea we are talking about, but Jiwon's speech when they "broke up" did not make much sense at all (not even in Korean, which I speak), and the whole controversy was portrayed quite weakly. But again, overall a nice watch, I've enjoyed it ☺️ HOWEVER THEY DID US DIRTY WITH THE SECOND COUPLE, WHAT WAS THAAAAAT 😬😭 I wanted more of them :( why did they have to hint at anything without giving them a decent storyline and an even less decent ending (actually, a non-existent ending....). I DEMAND a spin off with them 😭
The show is actually quite funny and light hearted. Just a revenge plot which will however lead to different outcomes.…
Thank your for your honesty and kindness! I absolutely agree, it's different when sexual misconduct is applied to a character that you are supposed to be drawn to/cheer for. And the supposed gang rape thing is not even the only "sexual misconduct" by CC, some of his interactions with Suo Wei are also very borderline sexually violent, however in this specific case it's a bit harder to judge because Suo Wei is tricking him, rilling him up constantly, saying things like "sleep with me, what difference does it make for you, you have slept with many men but I have never", while being on top of him, and whenever CC tries to make a move then Suo Wei (for now of course) absolutely retreats like an ocean before a tsunami 😅 I kinda understand, a little bit, how frustrating it must be, especially for an overall morally corrupt and "I've always had everything I wanted" type of guy, such as CC. But still, it is only a show, and hopefully viewers know that a NO is always a NO in real life, doesn't matter what you said/implied/did before. In the end, despite some rough mannerism, CC has never really done anything bad to SW and has respected his nos. But still, hopefully people are able to discern it from reality.
I can imagine the amount of shows you gotta catch up with!! Take your time, I'm sure you'll find the ones that better suit your more than valid taste and ideas. Xxx ☺️

I totally get your point. However when I wrote "a bit of a psycho" referring to CC I was talking about his obsession with snakes, the fact that he goes around carrying snakes on his wrist , etc...The gang-rape scene is, in my opinion, not too important nor relevant, first of all if I recall correctly it is only implied, no one said it was going to be a "gang rape", I actually thought it was more of a beating, plus that's the environment they are in, you don't expect kind and sane people attending illegal snake fights, if that is even a thing. And that person was not a random person that had been abducted or something, and we know nothing about it, nor about him. Definitely something I would not have included, but it is definitely also part of that kind of environments, where morality is not really their top priority. You should see the show for yourself, and draw your own conclusions, instead of relying on other people's opinion on a scene that is 10 seconds long and absolutely irrelevant to the show. While in other cases I absolutely agree with the fact that such scenes need to be portrayed in a very serious way, in this case I do not think it holds that much importance. CC is a spoiled rich kid who does not care about most people, and it is okay to have morally corrupted characters in a show, it is still a SHOW. What about all of those BLs with gang members who kill people? Would you still condemn them the same way? Again, it's a show.
Guyssssss should I start this one??? At the moment I am only watching Revenged Love (obsessed) and Ballboy Tactics, which is about to end. I could do with a bit more action, and this show seems promising. However, if it gets too messy (messy would not be a problem per se, but when these particular shows get messy they are barely understandable and it gets too difficult to actually follow the plot). What do y'all think? 🥰
I was debating wether to start this before it ended as I usually like to binge watch when all episodes of a show…
The show is actually quite funny and light hearted. Just a revenge plot which will however lead to different outcomes. There have been some "not so amazing" scenes, especially because CC is a bit of a psycho, but overall it is very nice, the leads have amazing chemistry and the story for now is not overly complicated. Although it will definitely get a bit darker, or most probably just more intense, cause at some point of course the truth will come out, and CC is already far too gone now, imagine later on. You should DEFINITELY give it a go and see for yourself. Totally understand you wanting to wait and binge watch it later, we are all suffering a lot while waiting for new episodes every freaking week. But watching it while it airs is also fun, you get to comment on it and discuss with people who are also watching, so overall I always prefer it this way (plus, I have no patience at all).
Between this one and Revenged Love, I consider myself MORE than fed. 🥹😍Gwon Jeong Woo is so handsome that I cannot really function properly when he's on screen, omg. And on top of that, a very natural and promising actor as well. I speak Korean and both his enunciation and delivery of lines sound very natural.HOW CAN WE WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEK FOR BOTH SHOWS? Cruel.
Their characters are nothing like Lian and Kuea, and at this point I just laugh at any of you who think they are…
You lost everyone at "Khanin is bold and in charge" hahahahah it is you who are watching a different show, surely. You are just blinded by the actors being your faves. Not the same show, but similar dynamics and similar characters, and very similar nonsensical plot and bad writing, that's for sure. Enjoy whatever you want and let people dislike your faves. A bit of objectivity would be good for you. But you do you, boo, if your standard in actors is so low.
although i agree with you about most things here including nunew's acting, i think you are being way too harsh…
you are a joke. Stop replying to every comment as if we were talking about your cousin or something. You are enjoying it? Nice! Amazing for you. That does not mean people are not freaking entitled to their own opinions. And for the record, just to let you know, sets and costumes are definitely NOT the most important things when the rest, and especially the writing, is pretty nonsensical and plain bad. And that's not subjective, that's a fact. They should have spent some of that budget in decent screenwriters, as well as better actors, and also in more training when it comes to fight scenes, and fencing scenes. I know about fencing, and the effort they put is non-existent.
Cute story, typical Korean style, which means beautiful filming and good acting. I have butterflies watching it,…
I do agree, I am liking this story a lot, simple, but well executed, good acting, and JungWoo is...... too much to handle 😂🫠😍 but yeah, I also wish they'd chosen someone even just a bit more believable as a gymnast...... 🥲
It had been SO long since a KBL made me GUSH to this level over the two main leads, OMG 🥹 literal butterflies throughout these last two episodes. And Jeong Woo is just..... freaking IRRESISTIBLE. I personally could not hold eye contact with him not even for two seconds, what a candy to the eye 🥹🔥 HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO WAIT A WHOLE WEEK. Agony.
I don't think I could get enough of Jiwon and Jungwoo. My new obsession. OMG. The last time I felt this way was…
freaking same!!!! Quite a few things reminded me of Semantic Error, the hat, the "trial period" thing, but not in a bad way, I am GUSHING over these two 🥹 waiting a week will be proper TORTURE 😭
I don’t know how things work in Thailand — whether they have theater programs, performing arts colleges, or…
OMG how could I forget We Best Love 🥹 very good one. But yeah, generally speaking, they mostly are all over the place for me. Even one of the most recent ones, I forgot the title, the one about the older brother who found and took the 13/14 yo kiddo and then they randomly get together in the end (while the oldest had been behaving as a full on father figure the whole time, worrying about his siblings' schooling, money etc...). It got so much praise, and I was honestly flabbergasted.
I don’t know how things work in Thailand — whether they have theater programs, performing arts colleges, or…
OMG same! There are a few exceptions (like MODC and very few others), but Taiwanese BLs are just... weird? I don't know how to put it, but apart from those indeed weird dynamics between leads, their "action" BLs are always so unrealistic and especially all over the place that I've always found myself unable to follow the plot. I have always wondered how people could actually follow and freaking understand what was going on. Insane 😅 even more insane is the amount of praise they receive.
We’re probably getting killed for that but finally, someone can agree that Nunew isn’t that great of an actor.…
I thoroughly agree. Even the ones that I like and appreciate more, it's just a concept that I do NOT like. Even pairings such as First and Khao, I'm TIRED of them together. I wanna see them with other people, I wanna see them trying other things, other themes, also realistically how many characters can the same two actors play together, before one gets tired of it? In the end, the dynamic will always be similar. But as someone else said already, pairings are more of a product to sell, rather than actors, unfortunately.
We’re probably getting killed for that but finally, someone can agree that Nunew isn’t that great of an actor.…
NN the actual actor and Zee the one lacking..... please, that shows you how people really do not know anything. Zee is not a great actor, possibly non of the guys in Thai BLs are (there are very few exceptions, one being Gun for example), but there's room for improvement and with a different partner he could skill up. NN is just, not an actor in my opinion. I swear Dunk in The Heart Killers performed better, but also because at least Style was written better as a character. We do have to recognise that both Khanin and Charan are poorly written characters, so delivering a decent performance gets harder.
although i agree with you about most things here including nunew's acting, i think you are being way too harsh…
I do see some improvements too in NN's acting, but it is not enough in my opinion, there are way better young actors out there who don't have the same chances and who could deliver a better performance. I think it particularly bothers me because I feel like Zee could do so much better in terms of acting partner, but he's now stuck in this ship and I think he will be for a very long time. But I do agree on the fact that writers and directors did a very questionable (if not terrible) job, to the point that both in Cutie Pie and TNP Zee's acting too has not been good. He's not that great of an actor either, but still better than Nunew, and if paired with someone else he could deliver a better performance, and work on his skills more (like with Saint for example). And most importantly, his skills will most definitely NOT increase if he keeps acting in pair with NN, simply because it means having to play these cardboard personality characters like Lian and Charan. I can't help it, I met him as Fighter, with his bandanas, his quirky smiles and silly faces, his sexy vibe, and I cannot stand these last two insufferable, emotionless, whitened characters 😪
We’re probably getting killed for that but finally, someone can agree that Nunew isn’t that great of an actor.…
Totally, we are probably getting killed for this 😅 but it is the truth. Nunew is not a good actor, and this "fixed ship/couple" thing (which is something that I already don't like per se, when it comes to acting) is making Zee also not that great at all. I completely agree with you, I kinda struggle to put into words NN's acting, but yeah, it feels unnatural, forced, just cringe. Who would fall in love with Khanin, judging from what we are seeing of him? Definitely not Charan. Although, Charan is also as plain as a cardboard, even though I firmly believe Zee can act better than that, its just a badly written character (for the show, I mean, the novel must be different) in a badly directed show.
the issue is NOT having filler episodes, they are more than normal. The issue is that the plot sucks, the characterization of characters is absolutely INCONSISTENT, Khanin from the beginning and Khanin now do not even look like the same person. Fight/action scenes, as well as fencing scenes, are beyond ridiculous. Nothing makes much sense, and I do not think it will get any better, as you seem to believe. This show, like many others, is based on a bunch of scenes put together, with loose ends everywhere, without a clear and consistent plot. I would not have had too many issues, if they hadn't hyped it up and presented as the "high budget high production series", its just as nonsense as Cutie Pie, but with nicer clothes.
However I did see some chemistry between them, and Choi Jae Hyeok made the series overall enjoyable for me (the first 4 episodes more than the last 4).
