Why is everyone so sure there won't be a season 3? Yes, the webtoon did end but you all do not know the power of money...? 😅 season 2, despite in my opinion being less effective and enjoyable than season 1, still did very well in terms of audience. Therefore, getting season 3 is still pretty much a very probable possibility. Even season 1 was mostly not based on the webtoon, but we still got it.
About the absence of any intimate scene in the show, I completely blame the gov. We had a good share of those…
oh god..... this makes me even more mad 😅 of course they would not include that in the series, but that washed, toned down version of Chi Cheng in the second half was very questionable. He lost his charm as his characterization was just.... off. What a shame.

Or that even in the last bed scene there was not even a peck 😅 like c'mon, that has nothing to do with the Chi Cheng we knew in the first half of the series, the same Chi Cheng who would call Wei while masturbating and thinking about him....

Exactly! It's also a matter of credible characterisation. The complete lack of intimacy (as you said, even just no talk about it whatsoever) did not provide a stable and credible characterisation of CC. It looked like a different character, almost, much more toned down, while it should have been the opposite, since after getting together Wei was also totally on board with intimacy and just the relationship as a whole.
i love this comment so much. couldn't have said it better. i hope some peeps on twitter understand that it's not…
It doesn't really matter how many times one tries to explain it to them, they lack understanding when it comes to writing and filmography, apparently. One thing that I did not even include in my original comment is that we went from a CC that was constantly lusting over Wei, like constantly, to a character that was barely shown expressing sexual intent or closeness with his partner. Make it make sense. They do not understand that it is not about intimate/kissing scenes per se, but about delivering a consistent plot and a consistent characters characterisation 🤷🏽♀️
I am planning to start this ASAP because Apo and Mile are GREAT actors, and that is absolutely sufficient for me to want to start a show! Plus, its a historical series set in the 60/70s?! I am even more on board. Why do people sleep on good shows (cause I am sure this one is good even if I haven't started it yet) while they eat up every bad show with rookies that are terrible at acting? I will never understand that 😅
I loved the show from the very beginning — it hooked me instantly, and I will always remember Wei and CC with great fondness. However, the second half of the show simply did not deliver. And I’m not just referring to what everyone else is talking about — the final episode — my criticism goes much deeper. First of all, the second half was overwhelmed by too much drama. The issue wasn’t even the sheer amount of drama, but how it was handled. Plotlines became increasingly nonsensical, with misunderstanding after misunderstanding stacked on top of each other in ways that felt contrived — as if they were purposely avoiding resolution just to create more drama for drama’s sake. The storytelling became loose, sloppy, and at times completely illogical. CC and Wei seemed incapable of having a single meaningful conversation. While misunderstandings are fine in moderation, it reached the point where it felt like they were deliberately kept from discussing anything important — a very unrealistic and frustrating choice. The whole ex-boyfriend arc dragged on far too long, was confusing, and added very little of overall value. When the show began, I had assumed — as most viewers who hadn’t read the novel did — that the main conflict would come from CC discovering Wei’s initial motive for getting close to him. Instead, that crucial plot point was barely addressed, brushed aside amid an avalanche of other, poorly handled drama. Even before the finale, it was obvious that numerous scenes had been cut. And this brings me to another point. I will never understand those so-called “purists” who criticise viewers for being disappointed about the absence of kisses or NCs. This is not about “wanting to see those scenes” for their own sake — it’s about portraying a believable relationship. A couple is a couple, and even the most reserved couples share moments of physical affection. In the second half of the series, almost every kiss was cut, not just in the last episode. This lack of intimacy severely undermined the realism of CC and Wei’s relationship. For example: your boyfriend, whom you love deeply, has just been released from jail after a long separation. Would you really not run to him, hold him tightly, and at least kiss him on the cheek? That’s the bare minimum — and its absence made their bond feel incomplete. As for NCs, people misunderstand their importance. They don’t need to be explicit to convey intimacy or sexual closeness, at all. There are countless subtle, tasteful ways to portray that — and it was essential here, particularly for SW’s arc of fully accepting his sexuality and his sexual desire for CC. The omission of a scene where SW initiates intimacy for the first time robs his journey of its emotional and narrative payoff (and yes, right now I am talking exactly about the cut scene in the finale). And again, I am certain that many more scenes of all kinds — not just the graveyard moment or the bed scene in the finale — were cut. Those moments could have given the couple more depth and authenticity, showing them leaning on each other emotionally, mentally, and physically. Instead, we were left with a love story that felt incomplete, when it could have been powerful, moving, and way more real. Overall, the first half of the show was lighthearted, fun, and thoroughly enjoyable — I absolutely adored it. The second half, however, was sloppy and choppy, with poorly patched editing and an overload of nonsensical drama. A far stronger storyline would have been to have CC discover the revenge plan amid Wei’s mother’s death — enough drama to drive the plot forward, yet with sufficient space left for the full development of the main couple in every sense. I will have to decrease my final rating from a 10 to an 8, while still thanking Tian and Zi Yu for giving us CC and Weiwei, I will always remember them ❤️ (and can't wait to see especially Tian in any other series, he is truly an amazingly talented actor).
I love this show, bought VIP on YouTube and everything, but I still have a few things to point out, since criticism should always be embraced. The first half on the show, I would say up until episode 9/10, was way better, I absolutely adored it. The strength of the show was its silliness, the plan, the yarning for one another, the chemistry, it was fun. After that, things got messier, but not in a understandable and relatable way. Unfortunately the plot of the story the show is based on is NOT strong, despite what everyone seems to point out on here. The plot is actually all over the place, especially in the second half of the show. CC and Wei kept hiding things from each other, kept adding misunderstanding after misunderstanding in a way that is not believable, since they seem to be allergic to actually TALKING. Why was CC so hurt from the discovery of the revenge plan and especially from how Wei told him he never loved him, and then they did not even talk about it? Idk, all these misunderstandings felt rushed and on purpose, there just for the purpose of creating more drama, just as in any badly written FF (which is what this is based on, indeed). They did not even talk about how CC did not tell Wei about his mum's illness, which is also another important point. I'm not saying Wei should have 100% got mad, maybe he wouldn't since his mum told him it was her who asked CC not to, but not even talking about it seems unreasonable and just bad writing, especially since most of the times Wei thought CC was cheating with WS, he was actually with his dying mother... it does not make sense. Even the whole CC/WS/GC thing was unclear, why would WS come back after 7 YEARS? Its a freaking long time. Again, just a non sense pawn put there only to create drama. And the whole sleeping with GC thing, which was staged? Wtf was that. And the whole charade on episode 20? That was not fun, just cringy. I could go on for way longer but I'll stop here. I don't know, I still love CC and SW, I love their chemistry, but I will have to lower my rating. 10 is definitely way too much. Can't wait to see Thian is another show, that boy has TALENT.
I really don't get the negative reviews, cause despite some flaws, the drama was, for me, absolutely worth watching. It was one of those heartwarming slice of life dramas, which are my absolute favourite dramas, personally. I will miss our 미지 and 미래 dearly 💜 a big fat applause to Park Bo Young, thank you for giving life to such amazing characters. 미지~미래 행복하게 잘 살아라! 🥹
yeah, its beyond me, really. I dropped it after episode 5/6, if I recall correctly. Just garbage with pretty costumes.
I indeed haven't been watching in months and haven't visited this page in 2 months, right since I stopped watching. I was on MDL for other shows and I actually thought about checking this page again after a long time to see whether maybe things had gotten a bit better. Although I doubted it, and indeed they haven't. On the contrary, I've seen people who liked it just fine and even those were criticising the latest episodes. I will get the hell out, dont worry, I wont lose time on shitty shows. You're welcome 😘

it just kinda funny and entertaining to see how people praise it. Thats it. I haven't vidited this page in month, dont worry, I have way better things to do 😘
Well good thing this series is wonderful and well loved by the Thai general public who are the most important…
Yes, there IS indeed objectivity in this world. You can not like Rothko, of course you can, but that doesn't change that he is a well renowned and acclaimed artist. You can have preferences amd you can not fully understand an artist's work, but you still recognise his/her value as people who are KNOWLEDGEABLE about art have praised such work. This show is OBJECTIVELY bad. And you are very wrong, Zee and Nunew are definitely well known enough in many other countries to draw this kind of audience (of course among people who like BL). My opinion is shared by many people, which means that, personal taste aside (and bias for the actors aside) many many people recognise the MANY flaws this show presents. One can still enjoy it, but not recognising the shows is objectively poorly written, produced and directed means that one is either 1) biased (which most people are) 2) used to watch shotty shows and thus absolutely not used to what quality even is 3) fan of Zee and Nunew, thus willing to eat up anything that involves them (and their NC scenes especially). Since you brought up art, is there anyone who could actually study/see Michelangelo's "The Last Judgement" in Rome's Sistine Chapel and say "sorry, personally I don't like it". NO. Cause it's OBJECTIVELY one if not the most praised piece of art to ever exist, together with the David. There is objectivity in this world, and no one prohibits people from enjoying whatever they wanna enjoy, but not recognising that this show is drawing audience only for the main actors and the fancy costumes, and that screenwriting, directing and just about everything else are objectively bad, is what blows my mind. No one actually knowledgeable about cinema, or an expert, would praise this show, not even close (apart from, maybe, costumes and some locations), thus your comparison with Rothko doesn't stand its ground. Have a beautiful day.
Well good thing this series is wonderful and well loved by the Thai general public who are the most important…
Yeah, because Zee and Nunew are in the show, and people like the product that Zee and Nunew are, even if they'd produce a rotten banana. ESPECIALLY in Thailand. Not because it is a good show. Literally, one can like or enjoy whatever show they want, but there is still objectivity in this world. And this show is OBJECTIVELY awful. The characters are all over the place, characterization is shit and definitely NOT consistent at all, everything is absolutely unreal, the "plot" seems to be there just as a side job, cause you kinda need to have a plot you know, Zee and Nunew are unfortunately not enough, that is the vibe it gives. That is what the producers and screenwriters went with. We have this two actors that are a product, like most ships are, let's create a random plot and spend a ton of money on costumes and fancy locations to make these products look cool and nice. That's how it went. And it totally shows. If you actually have eyes and a bit (just a bit) of common sense. Dropped this after episode 5 or 6, don't even remember. We definitely deserve WAY better shows than this ridicolous product. And Khanin is the most unsufferable main character I've ever seen. He went from a strong, nice, free London boy to an absolute useless and unlikable spoiled brat. Cause again, they have no idea about what a consistent and well-written characterisation looks like.
I won't call that "censoring" because the whole series would be lmfao. They just have a different style…
That is not true, many Thai BLs were already pretty explicit way before KP. I have been warching since 2016 more or less, so no, many shows had explicit NCs way before KP. They absolutely did. One of the many examples, and one of the oldest? "Together with me". Or even Tharntype, never liked that show, but it definitely featured many explicit NCs. And there are many other shows like that, way before KP.
I think during the first day or two they upload it automatically, and then fix it later.
I just find it a bit comical that they took some time to better edit and sub it, and then the subs come out all over the place, that's it 😅 hopefully they will fix the issue. "Don't take it so hard", well I'm not complaining about random stuff, subs are essential to understand the series, today's episode was hardly understandable. That's it.
It's obviously AI translated. I suppose they will correct the subtitles soon. Hopefully I understood everything.
Well, still not good, we are paying for VIP, so I at least expect decent subs. Again, in previous episodes there were some slip ups here and there, but nothing much, it was absolutely fine. But nonsensical subs is not what I am paying for. I overall understood too, of course, but most of the times you had to guess everything, and in other cases it was still impossible to really understand what they were saying.
guys ... be honest ... did they edit out the love scene? I'm struggling to believe they didn't.Im not one of those…
I also do think it was censored. It would have been better if they had just shown nice kisses, and then cut the scene. But tbh what really bothered me was the nonsensical English subs throughout the entire episode. At least on YouTube (for which I am even paying VIP). Most dialogues did not make any sense whatsoever. And to think that they supposedly took more time to better edit and sub the episodes...? In previous episodes there could be some slip ups here and there, but nothing much, it was absolutely fine and understandable. Not in episode 12 though. Maybe other platforms have better subs, idk.
