While I was searching for a better version of synopsis I found one description that said he married his squad…
For me it depends on how they present it. GYY seems like a duty oriented person so giving up on love may not be too hard for him and if they don't show him suffering because of it I don't think I'll care too much tbh. I just want him to reach the goals he set for himself and everything else will hopefully fall into place (seeing how he ends up with a kid I assume there must be some sort of affection between them)
*****SPOILER******* (Not really but a guess that could be a spoiler, if I am right (who knows about that lol))…
While I was searching for a better version of synopsis I found one description that said he married his squad leader's widow. That could be it. All other descriptions I read mentioned the daughter, but you may be onto something.
Am I the only one who doesn't understand why GY and JNZ can't have a relationship? I mean they are old enough…
I guess relationships could be distracting and they need new recruits to focus on their training and learn discipline. If they're both in the military (and we know how strict of an organisation that is) I see how it could be problematic in the initial stage of their training. We've already seen them sneaking around to see each other (breaking rules). I don't think it's about them and what they do as a couple specifically, but more about the rules everyone has to obey.
When does xiao zhan get married .....is there a romantic moment between them or marriage of compromise
There are 12 episodes out and his future wife hasn't appeared yet so we don't know anything about how that relationship will look like. Right now he's in a relationship with Jiang Nan Zheng.
I have a lot to say but I don't want to rant so I'll just say that Song Jian She is extremely annoying. He's the only cadre that I really can't stomach, all the other guys are actually decent and most of the time ready to take responsibility for their soldiers. The whole pig situation was so dumb and irritating >.>
I have mixed feelings about this one (changed my ratings several times) but one thing that I absolutely love is Park Hyungsik in this role. He's ADORABLE AF. The chemistry between the leads is also good and the comedy is, for the most part, on point. It was better in the beginning tho.
The parts with the gang & high school gang are overused and annoying. It stopped being funny after the first few scenes, but they dragged it on throughout the whole show.
The story as a whole was okay-ish, interesting enough to keep me watching (until certain point around ep. 12-14 when it got too draggy for my taste) but nothing amazing. It's a comedy so I won't let it affect my score too much.
The one who carried the whole show on his back was Park Hyungsik tho. If nothing else I'm glad I watched it for his scenes alone.
After rewatching first two episodes it feels so good to know which of their superiors was what in that war simulation game. I was so lost among their faces and names first time around.
Exactly how I feel. I found him annoying in the first episode (a little bit in a second too), then started understanding…
Exactly! ðŸ˜
Also, seeing how these two like each other I'm really curious how they'll make Gao Liang her future partner. She's not on the fence and they're not focusing too much on the romance in the drama so I hope they'll manage to make is believable.
I dislike Gao Liang being such a cock block. The fact that he keeps getting in between Gu Yiye and Nan Zheng is…
Exactly how I feel. I found him annoying in the first episode (a little bit in a second too), then started understanding and even liking him, BUT every time he does that I can't help but find it extremely infuriating. Like bruuh, sod off.
Am I the only one who got heated when Gao Liang took the chance and used Gu Yiye's "accident" to spend time with Jiang Nan Zheng for her birthday? LOL. I don't even care about the romance but that got to me. I love her attitude tho, she's pretty clear who she likes and wants to spend time with, but also not rude to the other side. Whoever she ends up with in the end, I already like her personality.
I love the mix of comradery and rivalry between Gu Yiye and Gao Liang & considering how this is only the beginning I'm looking forward to seeing how that relationship evolves. Also, I dig the whole "slice of life in a military setting" thing they're going for in these first few episodes.
Off topic, but watching ongoing c-dramas is so different from watching ongoing k-dramas. I'm watching 4 episodes per day here and for k-dramas I have to wait a whole week for two episodes 🥲
Happy Holidays folks! We got one! For those asking about promotion, it was given a 3 hour heads up. Hey, better…
I was on the fence about whether to buy VIP subscription or not but seeing how XZ Studio keeps promoting it I'm glad I did. 4 episodes in and it looks like it will be a really good drama. We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas gift! 🙌
Gao Liang was so annoying in the first episode but I'm starting to enjoy him and Gu Yiye together. Serious and smart Gu Yiye and dumb and funny Gao Liang duo works surprisingly well.
Aside from that, I really like the visuals and the story so far looks good.
I'm waiting for a few more episodes to come out before I start watching, but from the clips that I've seen I really like how it looks. Also, can't wait to see Jung Hae In in this role!
I'm only on episode 5 but it's kinda boring? Nothing about it makes me eager to watch the next episode and there is something off about the interactions between the main characters. I'll try to finish it tho, hopefully it gets better.
I'm rewatching this after 5 years and I love it as much as I loved it the first time. The chemistry between the main couple is basically nonexistent so I honestly didn't care about their relationship at all, but the story involving Ji Dwi and Sun Woo is really interesting. Ji Dwi and Ban Ryu are my favorite characters and I just love their development and how they showed their inner struggles and conflicts.
I wanted to see if my initial opinion of this drama changed, especially after reading negative reviews, but no. I'm actually going to raise my rating after this.
I need more dramas about this period and less about Joseon.
