Yes, I know, what you mean. But I rated the production, not the intention. My criticism is about the perspective…
But that's like saying The Kardashians are great because they pour tons of money into a high-level production. And from the story telling perspective this is a big mess - full of plot armor, completely ridiculous almost cartoonish Villain as a character paired with an actor that is nowhere near the charisma required to pull it off. So even though you are right in that from production perspective this is a high-end polished production, as a whole (which is what the rating is about no?) how can it be a 9?
Makes the movie look like a masterpiece of ages. How can the same person who wrote the movie come up with this ridiculous and utter landfill garbage?! Smells awful lot like Disney.
I agree with you but after everything you just wrote you gave it 9? Hate to break it to you but you are part of the problem! Enabling this brain rotten glorification of twisted power fantasy.
For the ones that rated this below 9. Everything ok at home?
Altho I love Yoo Ah In and the movie was funny and the chemistry was great, the movie was a total mess. From pacing to plot holes bigger than grand canyon. So no the movie was nowhere near 9. All good if you've enjoyed it that much but to think everyone should objectively rate it 9 is quite delulu.
And many more delulu fangirls/fanboys who's lack of IQ, taste and any critical thinking is more than evident when they don't have the mental capacity to to engage in a constructive debate so all they can do is resort to name calling, like we're in a kindergarten.
If it’s best actress award I would understand your frustration but she got popularity award. I know she is not…
I mean sure she might have been popular as an idol but what does that have to do with anything?
Oh you know that surgeon, he used to work as a dentist but was apparently handsome and people seemed to like him so he decided he deserves to be in the spot light as a surgeon so he went for it. And he's a really shit doctor but now that he's a surgeon still more people seem to adore him because he's handsome so lets just give him a popularity reward.
What did it ruin exactly? It was like 2% romance but kay.
Not a perfect romance but if you gonna have romance at least make it worthwhile. Even if we disagree on how worthwhile it was, one fact is undeniable - it had absolutely zero impact on the plot. If you completely cut it out the plot would be completely unchanged. Because her sister did all the frontloaded heavy lifting lol
She is a spoiled brat at first, but she will have character development after the misunderstanding is cleared…
Personally to me they were not funny at all (except for Dylan acting like an idiot for a bit), altho a part of me understands where they were coming from as these kind of antics have been successfully implemented in other series. Idk, might have been just the wrong combination of writing/actress. But it came across super insufferable, and spoiled, but not in a cute kinda way, in like borderline narcissistic villain way. That's the thing. If they redeemed her it might have been ok. For example in Love And Redemption (aka Love and Misunderstandings haha). Altho LAR is infinitely more annoying they did put in a lot of effort in her redemption. Like several episodes. You can see the action that came out of regret. Here we don't see any sort of hardship she has to go through as a consequence of her action. It's quite the opposite. Everything keeps falling/playing into her hands (including Dylan). The only thing the she turns the leaf over with is her relationship with her Dad matures. But that was there from the get go and it's not a consequence of anything. I haven't read the book so you have to tell me, is the writing similar in the book or have they changed it a lot?
What did it ruin exactly? It was like 2% romance but kay.
My point exactly. Only 2% = useless. 19 eps of insufferable, character. No redemption, and then few useless scenes, that were stained from those 19 eps before. So brought only annoyance nothing else.
She is a spoiled brat at first, but she will have character development after the misunderstanding is cleared…
She's really insufferable, borderline despicable throughout. There is no clearing of misunderstanding. It's just swept under the rug, no redemption nothing. They just start ham-fisting forced "cutesy" moments down our throats and we are supposed to pretend that it never happened and all of a sudden start liking/rooting for her. Such cheap emotional bait. I nearly stopped watching because of this.
I hope they focus completely on Dylan and get rid of Tian Xi Wei. They should stop ham-fisting romance into every single series. This one ruined what could have been a near perfect series.

Pretentiously attacking my character with 3 wild conjectures, after I question her statement is not overreacting?
I also think Dylan is better actor than Wang Yibo, but that's beside the point.
