I’m on ep4 and the ML is really starting to get on my nerves. They most annyoing thing is that the drama tries so hard to make him cool and powerful as if everyone is beholden to him when in fact he’s just acting like an angry little dweeb. Does it get better?

Spot on! Me too! Usually is the bullshit angst and endless
misunderstandings that make your brain rot. And turn everyone into irredeemable spoiled nasty teenagers. Still don’t get how people can watch that garbage, ENJOY it and rate it 10?!

Right!? Totally agree! Finally a xianxia that has just the right amount of everything. Even the cliche tropes weren’t overused so they were bareable.

What was that!? The VIPs were beyond cringe this season. Absolute trash. This was embarassement even to the most amateur of high school plays. When will Korean industry stop picking up random forigners that are not actors of the street and putting them in shows?! On the whole this season felt super hollow. Something just didn’t feel right. All the interesting inticate interplay between human greed and survival instinct was gone. It all felt mechanical and all the bad characters were saved by luck more times than politician with good PR only to die the most boring deaths. As if to justify they were not so bad. It reeks of western moral self-righteousness so much. It’s more than apparent that after season 1 success the Netflix HQ (USA) smelled the money and had to get their dirty hands on it. You could just fell they wanted to quickly wrap up this so they can reboot it in the states. Shamless money grab.

Agreed. For me it's mostly how f****** self-righteous most of these writers are lately. The villains do the most despicable things and they get away with it, and in the end it's just slap on the wrist.

Great thank you for letting me know! I will most definitely not watch it now haha I also hate these so-called "misunderstandings". And how they lazily always use it as a cheap emotional bait. Do you have any other recommendations?

No I haven't, was going to but I've heard/read some bad things about it (or should I say stuff that really usually put me off) so not sure I'm going to watch it haha. Why is it bad in your opinion?

Finally someone said it, bravo! All these delusional teenage girls putting him on the pedestal. After watching this garbage and reading all these reviews I finally realized this genre is basically full braindead people and immature teenage girls.

I think you’re actually the one who’s watching with your head up … somewhere. Not only there is no chemistry it’s borderline distasteful harassment. Or maybe where you come from when someone grabs you or tries to hug you and you disgusted violently pull away, bout 40x times, that’s considered undeniable chemistry?! You clearly have teenage ML blind worship infatuation sydrome.

Really glad there are still some like-minded people on here (re SML). I’m on ep8 now and already started skipping their scenes together. I really like her and her taking iniciative is great for a like 2 episodes but it’s becoming borderline repulsive - if the roles were reversed people would already scream pervert and creep. But it’s mainly to do with how bland and boring ML is here. I like “emotionless” ML (fairy and the devil, love and redemption) but all those characters have depth from the get-go, despite their lack of emotions and most importantly the actors portraying them are have gravitas. This is nowhere close. And all on the nose exposition praises make things even worse. And then add to the mix SML that comes alive and steals the scene anytime he’s on screen. Don’t necesarily want him to be the romantic interest but the more they try to shove that ML and FL, who are severly lacking in the chemistry department and who are clearly a thing because of the plot armor, down our throat the more I subconciously rebel and start wanting for SML to be with her because he’s clearly more interesting choice and arguably better looking as well. Or it might just be because FL is trying too hard for him. Is anyone else feeling the same? And if yes for those who are further along, does it get better? If not would I miss a lot if I skip their/his scenes?

Yeeees. The ML is super bland and meh in this one. But as soon as the SML comes on screen everything comes alive! I’m only ep8 but getting more and more annoyed because with each passing ep I’m liking SML more and ML less. Not a good start.

Really?! She was so bland and monotonous. Especially her delivery. Felt like I was listening to TOPIK preparation audio lol Not to talk about her acting. All of her reaction shot. when she didn't have any lines, were of somebody who's in their head being more concerned about how they look and thus trying too hard to make us believe she's listening. Typical model stuff.

Exactlly. The show went from 10 (with a few caveats) to -1 in ep10 or even a bit before. They went completely against the character. The charactwr that basically made this show: kind, loyal, positive, endearing etc to selfish, ungratefull in span on 5min. With no build up or good reason whatsoever. She leaves the family and the ML that basically saved her life on more than one ocasion because of the fear that it might influence here career, but literally 5min later when the shares scandal comes up she’s like: I’m not leaving you unnie. Facepalm. And in the later episodes Ranjoo was relly annoying but they kept pushing her as a good character. Complete garbage.

Nobody saying LBFAD is perfect and I agree with you that the ending was rushed and costumes at times looked like some cos-players came up with it. You not liking Esther Yu’s“childish behaviour” is a totally down to your taste, I can’t saying anything against it. I also can’t say anything about you feeling it was tacky. But what I can say objectively - with a fairly certain degree of common sense, is that “missundersandings” in Love and Redemption were on a level of 2 year child who is just learning to speak. And it was done for the sake of pure emotional baiting, hence why it was so ridicolous. If you like this show, again it’s your perogative, not questioning that, but if you tell me that nothing is wrong with those missunderstandings and the show is 10/10 then I would say if you are that “dumb” target audience? Nothing wrong with teenagers, we were all there onece, but for the most part they are not the most self aware and hence acurate gauges of the quality.

The most ironic thing is that when I got to that part I thought I’m really going to enjoy it, but it felt just pathetic.
