Honestly, I like DH, but he is doing way too much for someone he isn't in a relationship with. It isn't certain that NB wants to be with him, and while the gestures are sweet (decorating the area for her and being super romantic), it might be considered overkill and make someone uncomfortable. Those are gestures that should be saved when the relationship is confirmed, otherwise people can just feel obligated. I hope in the next episode that they are either confirmed or he is let go. For both of them.
I like how jae eon and bitna are shown to be the parallels of each other and i really liked the conversation between…
I really liked that scene too. BN and KH are the same as NB and JE. BN and JE are both uncertain about their relationships and don't want to close up other options in case the relationship ends. They also don't want to get too close and risk the relationship completely if it ends. What JE said in this episode was really indicative of his feelings ("Close enough, but not close enough to hurt each other") Neither he nor BN want to lose NB or KH so they don't want to keep them to close so that if it ends they will never be able to be friends again. Of course that doesn't really work because the other party is invested, but as seen with NB and JE, they did gain some friendship when they ended their friends with benefits. Whereas if it was a sincere relationship and it ended, they may not have been able to do that (at least in JE' and BN'sPOV).
The toxic thing about him is that he’s very manipulative and every single move he makes is clearly calculated…
I (respectfully) disagree. I don't think playing hot and cold is necessarily manipulative, especially if the person doing it is known for it. He admitted to playing the field, and made it clear that he wasn't committed. If he was sincere from the beginning then it would be different, but he wasn't and she knew. Again, this doesn't mean that NB doesn't have the right to feel used, because she is being used. He is clearly using her (for sex, distraction, a feigned relationship that he won't commit to...) but she was consenting to be used. And when she no longer felt that the relationship was fulfilling, she ended it. Her disappointment that he didn't fight for them or that he wasn't ready to commit, while sad, is her responsibility. She knew, and he had been honest about what it was from the start of their liaison. I'm not saying that emotional abuse isn't a thing, I just don't think that was what was happening here. Becoming emotionally invested in someone or in a relationship doesn't mean that you are being manipulated.
Maybe my standards are lower because I watched Cheese in the trap and countless other dramas with toxic men, but I don't think JE is that toxic. Yes his relationship with NB is not healthy, but it was a 'friends with benefits' relationship. That was known from the beginning when she kissed him right after he kissed someone else. She knew. I'm not saying she's not right to be mad at him, because her feelings are very much valid in this scenario and everything she said during their 'break up' was right. But honestly, I think the worse thing he did in the relationship was lie to her about whether he was seeing other people (right before he was punched in the face for that lie by another girl's brother).
JE obviously uses intimacy as a shield and a distraction from real feelings and sincerity. Every time NB tries to open up with him about himself, he uses sex as a way to divert the conversation. Since they don't have an established boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, this isn't necessarily toxic behavior.
Idk, maybe it's because friends with benefits break up then become boyfriend/girlfriend have been so normalized (with movies like No strings attached, or Friends with Benefits), but I guess I don't think of this as toxic behavior.
Now that might change, if JE becomes possessive and mean. but so far I don't see that. He has had an instance of jealousy which NB has called him out on, but I think there is a very obvious difference between what is going on between JE and NB and what was NB's ex-boyfriend (who was clearly abusive and toxic).
Either way, the show is going about to show that he is trying to change. Whether or not that is true is something we'll see in the next half of the season, but so far he hasn't done anything really bad. Yes, he's flirted with many girls (in front of other girls he's flirting with) and at worst that makes him sleazy, but everyone knows what he is. But it's clear he's changing because the last episode said he no longer hung out with women, and the other students find him more approachable and honest.
I'm honestly pretty excited for this show. I think it's really good. the way the director shows tension is amazing, and I honestly think this is my favorite SK show so far.
Wait I am confused. How did the bamboo forest confirm that BH is SY reincarnated?
That scene during the meteor shower... when SY says maybe they'll meet again and she'll be in a form he didn't expect... I interpreted it as saying she'll be BH. But I might be wrong.

So I guess that BH and SY both had a journey to go through. SY needed to find the will to live and to fight for herself and have confidence in herself. I do think during the first week, she was stuck as a vegetable in BH's body in the present. But after that week, after finding the will to live, she still needed to learn how to be confident in her own ability and that's when she shared her body with BH. Meanwhile, BH had to learn how to love someone besides himself, and be self sacrificing, and he achieved that when he was willing to die for CJ. (and also maybe BH needed to learn something about his sexuality ;P) I do believe that BH is SY reincarnated. I like how the Bamboo forest kind of confirmed that. Anyway, great show!!!
So from what I understand, everything went back to before people interacted with people from the future. So the time paradox fixed it so that they might remember, but it would go back to before they did anything with those people. So it would be like a vague dream/memory. That's why he woke up on the plane and isn't dead. Because time changed to before he was associated with any time travelers. His business took off probably because it always would have and it didn't actually rely on Sigma's investment (he would have found other investors). As for HTS seeing KSH, I think it was his hallucination, but he chose not to take pills and get rid of the hallucination, but instead decided to stay in it. As for Sigma, ....well, crazy doesn't go away over night. One act of kindness wasn't going to stop him from obsessing of HTS. But now he doesn't have the uploader/apocalypse to rise to power. But he still has the memories. I don't think anyone forgot, just that they went back to before they made any actions surrounding time travel. But who knows.
I understand why this drama was cancelled, but I'm really bummed for the cast. I hope they all can get new dramas soon and that this doesn't affect their careers.
