I don’t know if we watched the same show bc you can’t really be comparing an attempted r*pe, by a trusted friend of 10 years nonetheless, to albeit lies of someone whose only mission is to protect someone they barely knew… lying isn’t ideal, of course not, but you cannot even begin to compare the intentions behind the actions of way versus charlie. I get it, regardless of the intentions, the result hurts but at least charlie will face the consequences of what remains after he ensures the safety of his lover… whether it’s death (bc that could have been the case, it was a risky plan), heartbreak (babe not finding out about the death, or if he did find out and not want Charlie in his life, etc). Both Way and Charlie were brought up by Tony but took different paths, yes trauma, manipulation, verbal and psychological abuse alters an individual. While these may be contributing factors that led to their decision-making, it does not for a minute justify what way almost committed. like the saying goes: “just because your pain is understandable, doesn't mean your behavior is acceptable.”

I found that disappointing bc the first thing that charlie does is ask if babe is eating and taking care of himself in the novel 🥺 I actually think Pooh's acting is perfect for this role, fits the character to a tee (if you get around to reading the novel, you might see Pooh in a different light) and as a rookie, he's doing so well 💚 I keep reading comments about Pooh's acting as coming off emotionless, but I genuinely don't see that; however, it might be the jarring differences in the acting delivered by Pavel in contrast to Pooh... side by side, one might feel that way 💭 in the case that Pooh's acting comes off as underwhelming at times might actually be how the character was intended to be, in the novel Jeff refers to charlie as a "robot" until he meets babe 👀 thanks for sharing your thoughts, I wish you a happy reading if you end up giving the novel a try! 😊

I know where you’re coming from, the series lacks the depth of the novel in that aspect bc when you read the novel it helps understand where both babe and charlie are coming from as you get their POVs 💭as for why charlie couldn’t tell babe, again it wasn’t mentioned in the series, it’s bc way had been manipulating babe for so long…as a result, way is still linked to babe in a manner that way has the ability to essentially read through babe. so if babe knows the plan, so does way… does that make sense? bc way and babe are still connected in that regard, charlie truly had no choice but to keep it under wraps 🥺trust me, charlie hates himself for it and doesn’t deem himself deserving of being in babe’s life… he knows he kept another secret from babe, even though he promised he wouldn’t 💔as for babe, he goes through HELL when he mourns charlie and knowing his lover is alive is more than enough for him 🥹babe tells charlie that he forgives him bc he knows charlie will only ever do something for a reason… that reason always boiling down to babe 🫶🏽✨
