yes, the comparisons are truly tiresome esp bc they're so repetitive in their nature... personally, I really didn't like the Japanese adaptation, so when I heard about a new adaptation (whether it be Thai, Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, etc) I was excited! Just like “uncle” “daddy” (or whatever pet name, take your pick) don’t literally mean a family member or caretaker, etcetera. maybe imagine this: someone’s pet name is “kitten” or “puppy”, does that mean their partner is into beastiality? Or let’s say “angel”… sacrilege? it’s all in the connotation, we all have our own feelings and experiences that come with those, just some food for thought 💭
