Absolutely agree. I see some of the "top rated"FLs when they hug...their bodies don't connect or touch. Its like you hug your brother. There are only a few younger actresses willing to be "proactive"This FL and the one in Blossoms in Adversity know how to convey they are in a relationship"" with an emotion comfort rather than..oh yes..... its now the kissing scene so gotta just get through it and close my eyes.

This show should have been retitled Mothers Choice Forever! Shes gets calm advice from YZM to leave her daughters workplace to her own as its her battlefield and not enter it. Next day she TURNS UP with food in front of a staff meeting. Theres no credibility here. Directors and screenwriters what are you doing to the audiences expectations. You should have tagged this Family drama ONLY.

I agree. I'm a fan of XK and don't mind YZ. They are both talented and successful actors at the height of their popularity. This comment is not about their capability or performance. They have been the Leads of multiple romance dramas over the past decade. Perhaps its 'weariness'', we know they've had "chemistry" with many other Leads and they are doing a good job here ( in spite of the disturbing mother) but its like they've had so many 'partners"its not as engaging as Gala Zhang and bestie as its fresher and more appealing. Not sure how much longer this romance career path can hold out. Just my opinion and can be proved wrong of course. Its hard to grow when there is a genre you stick to/your company keeps promoting contracts to. Just a thought only. Note I am a fan and wish them well.

While the mother may be culturally appropriate , in terms of story telling and quality of drama she is ruining the show. She has no engaging quality or charm, maybe shes supposed to show their is no life without her supposed devotion to her children while unaware of the toxic damage she is causing?

Its C drama where you suspend all semblance of reality and logic......

6th Prince has extensive filmography.... I remember him from Time and Him are Just Right where he played the younger brother and Shao Yao from this drama played his older brothers love interest.

Apologies, I'm here for XK BUT honestly, how could the characters of MCH and MCZ have such hapless, weak, impatient and rash parents. Genetically speaking and all logic aside as this is C drama, theres no way those children could have the current character and intelligence they displayed if they grew up with the behaviours of those parents. Gosh its frustrating, I'm going to FF.........usually you should be able to see a semblance however tiny of where their patterns of preference and behaviour come from.

I agree so far its a gem. Theres been a lotta coal dust we've had to sift through to get this gem.

Now this is an unexpected surprise.... a welcome one so far of course...after such,imo, lacklustre costume dramas for over 4 months. Hurray!
