Yeh, i think the cuts would be more acceptable if didnt read the novel.
But i did and it's much more glaring.
Still, i love this drama and they most did a good job in adapting the novel.

IIRC, I think his mother was a maid turned concubine? He doesnt have much power since his mother was only a maid, so it was easy to take control of him.

Romance in the farm, was an easy fun watch.

I love DK in butterflied lover, he's part of the second couple. That's the first time i saw him not as a villain. Also try wanted detective, he's a support there too, but not a bad guy. 😁

It was a hostile takeover.
No one wanted to side with the puppet emperor. He knows he's alone, and he willingly gave it up so that he would a small chance to be left alive.
And if they're going to trace it, qi min is the only son of the deceased crown prince.
Also everyone knows he was just set up as a puppet emperor. He has no real power.
