The ending made me cry a bunch so I like it but I wish they could get closer. At first I feared it was a type…
"But honestly, those still feel like excuses." *clapping hands* YES!!! totally agree. If the director wanted to give us a kiss, FL would have ran to him, loose the hat as she runs (with the wind) and clutch ML to finally kiss him. Like Whitney Houston in "the bodyguard" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO3cSXgeVCk This longing glare feels so fake after such a long absence. The whitney's ending would have been my choice for this drama. Although I don't know if FL could perform such an emotional intimate scene. She was very cold during all the drama.
Glad that you tried it yourself. I Just watched the first episode and I like it, even if it is slow. But I will…
You are welcome :) Happy it helped. I loved "embrace in the dark night" too. The chemistry was fire. And I was eagerly waiting for the next airing episode. You might like "Your trap" also in my list. It is also very steamy. I did not watch "behind your smile". But now I am interested, thanks to you :) I love the actor and I want to watch him again.
The next Xianxia scheduled for Zhang Ling He is "eternal faith". I miss him already in this type of roles. He was marvellous and he conveyed a large palette of emotions throughout the drama.
Jing Tian was extraordinary as a medicine woman. Her next Xianxia will be "Si Jin". I can't wait. The leads character development was beautifully done and I miss them already.
Wow that's a lot.I knew that Lee Joongi was orginially slated as the lead, but I didn't realize Lee Minho was…
Thank you, , I enjoy sharing thoughts with you too. :)
The siblings relationship was clearly fishy but they could have developped it better. Despite the censorship, an unclear sibling status could have solved the problem but they did not take the chance. If they were not blood related the problem would have been solved. Too bad, the show looked sometimes made for children so much so that it was prudish.
This actress had little to none sensuality. Her pulling her hair was just awkward. I don't know how men reacted to that part. They could maybe be attracted to that. But I far as I am concerned, models in shampoo adds make a better job than this woman. I can tell that in those adds, those models are attractive touching there hair. So Big No No for this actress. However, I can tell that directing and editing did not help her. They could have used close-ups and slow motion to make this awkward woman seem sensual. But they missed that opportunity. *smh*
Oh my... Don't get me started on the time she wore the armor o_O. In a scene like this one, I would have liked the character to be at first mysterious and then gradually the audience would have understood that the climax arriving was her deciding to stay with him and they would have ended up kissing. But instead, she was like an anime character ; childish and funny. It is like, I was seing the question marks and the little birds flying around her head. To me, it was not on point at all. They lost all the emotion in that scene.
Filmed in the 90's. Yes, if it wasn't for the CGI. I could say that.
I would have probably indulged myself too if I had found the opportunity :)
What were the best kisses you watched? The best one I watched was in "que sera sera" (2007)
Wow that's a lot.I knew that Lee Joongi was orginially slated as the lead, but I didn't realize Lee Minho was…
I understand what you like about the actor so much. He is marvellous in this drama. He brings so much tenderness to the character. Sometimes I wanted to cuddle him. And trust me, I don't even know him.I only watched "the king : eternal monarch", so I am not in his fandom. But he touched my heart with this character.
Wow, 130$ ? You really like this drama. I understand you, after watching it. I want to give it a second watch ^_^
The director was wronged in my opinion, regarding all this embezzlement case, but he might have made some mistakes as well. I am speaking about the all process since the inception of the idea. From what I understood, they wanted Lee Joon-Gi, them they started to film the trailer with Kang Ji Hwan and they ended up fiming the drama with Lee min Hoo.
With all this mess. It is normal they had budget problems. I am amazed they could finally shoot the drama and that it turned out good enough for me to like it."
Given the circumstances, they spent a lot of money before even filming the drama. So it is not surprising that they had financial problems afterward.
Moreover the actress they cast was not able to mesmerize the audience in romantic scenes. So the drama could not be successful. I don't think the CGI's quality is a reason why the drama did not make it financially, because other dramas with worst CGI were successfull ( "My love from the stars" was released in 2013 and the CGI is not extraordinary. ) To me the big problem is the actress and her lack of chemistry. A great lead couple would have saved the drama.
Yes, I noticed the pendant and I did not understand where they wanted to go with it. They lost a plot point here. They didn't do anything with it. *sigh*.
Yes, I undestood right away that the fire woman and her brother had some push and pull incestious attraction going on. At some points I doubted they were brothers when someone said that they were the excellency's "minions". Hearing this they were surprised. So, it would mean that they were really the main villain's brother and sister. But yes, her touch was definitly sexual toward the music guy, who was jealous of other men.
The kisses here are not worth mentioning because of FL. ML was always believable and endearing as he slowly opened up to love. But FL was a mess. Yes I remember the wide eyes when ML kisses her. At that particular moment we should feel her longing and her surprise and at the same time her fear for escaping death and her shyness before everybody because she was kissing ML. But unfortunatly I couldn't catch any of it because the woman lacks chemistry with ML.
As for the editing. Editing could have save the drama. Indeed, the material might have played a part in it. They couldn't act for FL.
With all this mess. It is normal they had budget problems. I amazed they could finally shoot the drama and that it turned out good enough for me to like it.
Thank you, for the update. I just watched it. The story goes in a good direction. I was still surprised that Andre…
Totally agree. I hope the cheating couple get to be punished and that the ending will not be disapointing. Someone said that it was a 31 episodes drama. Another one said it was 20 episodes long. As I see it, it cannot be 20 episodes long. I've got the vibe that we just past mid-season. 20 episodes would be too short to develop the plot as it is right now on episode 19.
Thank you, for the update. I just watched it. The story goes in a good direction. I was still surprised that Andre…
I agree. In the previews we saw the wife asking for a divorce. I think that the husban will snap. He cannot possibly accept to be rejected by the wife and that Gina will lose all her momentum with him. In his weird and possesive way, the cheating husband is jealous of Andre. I was so pleased to see Andre give his high mighty speech and just bounce. Leaving the controlling wife to her mess. I am happy that in this drama the poor people are all good people . Only the rich people are weird. The wife is disgusting. She is exactly like her cheating husband. She wants it all. The position, the job at S-Plaza, the position at the soccer club, the affair with Andre, and other than that she wants to control her son's life. The husband and the wife are the same kind of cheaters. The difference is that the wife is not as confident as the husband.
Wow that's a lot.I knew that Lee Joongi was orginially slated as the lead, but I didn't realize Lee Minho was…
I will look for this caucasian guy. LOL. Lee Min Ho indeed is such a great actor, wow he was 25, it is even more impressive. The clothes don't stop the chemistry. I think FL could not convey enough emotions to be believable in this role. She was childish and everytime she got close to ML I did not feel the sexual tension the audience should feel. To me she was not on point for this drama.
Yes the villain was sick, I liked him too. He was too much sometimes but it goes with the role. He was hard to beat until the end. I appreciated his presence. As for the fire woman and the music man. Those were one-dimensional villains that did not bring anything valuable to the table. They got beaten in the end thanks to the location they were in. I must admit that I clapped when they finally killed the fire woman. I wondered how they would do it because she looked so powerful. I think that this couple of villain was there to show that ML had a powerful archenemy.
I also like the second couple. Those two had a beautiful chemistry. But the queen was very melodramatic. But I still liked her.
I don't think the director embezzled money. In my opinion he was framed. Because all the people that I know who did really embezzle money are now in Dubai or in Russia. Where there is not extradition policy. If he had taken money from the production, he would not have ended up in a little rented room in Bundang-gu comitting suicide. If he had access to a fortune, he would have left the country before the travel ban was issued. I don't buy it. The poor man suffered a lot, to the point he was desperate because he couldn't proove his innocence and he chose to die. This is great that the crew and cast were finally paid. I think that the real culprits are still at large and they did not get punished, because the legal process ended with the director's suicide.
The scriptwriter made a fuss to save her face. If she didn't bring anything new to the story. All the scandals she made was just unfair. She holds some responsibility in the director's suicide.
Thank you. This depiction of your imagination fits mine too. This is exactly what I wanted to watch. They could have done it if they had given FL a platform or a stepladder. and the editing were good enough to hide it. The editing is another flaw of this drama. But I will not elaborate on it. There is to much to say.
When I think about it. It is amazing that I liked this drama so much. I think that it speaks to me in its own way. ^^
Thank you, for the update. I just watched it. The story goes in a good direction. I was still surprised that Andre left the soccer team and I am very annoyed to watch Gina living her best life with the cheating husband. That guy is so disgusting. He wants the wife and the mistress. Now that the wife is labeled as a cheater herself, it seems that she will have to stop retaliating against Female lead. It was delightful to listen to the wife saying to Gina ( paraphrasing) : I hope you are happy about what you get and the way you are getting it. This is what I call : sleeping your way up the ladder.
Wow that's a lot.I knew that Lee Joongi was orginially slated as the lead, but I didn't realize Lee Minho was…
WOW . "caucasian American face stunt" in disguise? I missed him. Was he the one with the hat?
I don't know about you, but I love this drama because of Lee min Ho. He brought the "aloof general" kind of character to another level. Watching him I felt his struggles and desperation so much. He could gave her warmth but at the same time be very reserved, without being awkward. He made me cry at some point, when he was struggling with his hand. Believe me, I barely know his dramas. I only watched "The king : eternal monarch". But with this show. I understood why he has such a big fandom.
Kim Hee Sun's acting was indeed childish and awkward especially in the intimate / romancing scenes with Lee Min Hoo. I agree, it felt weird when ever she put her head on his shoulder or even embraced him. I don't know why. It is such a pity. The story was beautiful and it could have been a great financial success, despite the lack of budget. I kept watching it because of LMH and I don't regret it. It was very melodramatic at some point but General Choi Young was alive in this drama. And I could understand his every moves. Even the logic of her coming from a wormhole was believable to me. Too bad they cats someone with a no kissing policy. That ruins romances. I don't know why those kind of people insist on acting in romance dramas. ( same for Allen Ren in China. I heard he married a jealous wife:/) They should leave the romance to the kissers.
Thank you for the description of the last scenes. I couldn't find the BTS but this is just very sad that the ending was not well executed. LMH would have saved the day. Because this longing doesn't suffice after such a long absence. But if that author was on set troubling the director. The director could not make the most of it. So the ending ended up being disappointing. Poor guy he suffered a lot.
Update : I found the BTS. This scene would have been perfect if it was like in whitney houston's "Bodyguard" movie. She runs to him, they kiss and he kissing he takes off her hat passionately. ( withney had a scarf) But that girl with a no kissing policy could not let that happen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DO3cSXgeVCk
Wow that's a lot.I knew that Lee Joongi was orginially slated as the lead, but I didn't realize Lee Minho was…
I just watched the drama and it is on my Top List, but only for Lee Min Ho. The FL's acting was disappointing and I wished the ending featured a kiss. But now that I read that this woman has a non kissing policy. I understand why she was so weird in the romancing scenes. This drama is the perfect example of 1 good actor saving the entire show. Thank you Lee Min Ho <3 PS : I am so sad for the director. :/

My last post about it :
"Kang Ji Hwan was also supposed to play the part of General Choi Young. They filmed the trailer with him but they did not filmed the drama with him. He sued them and got compensated 500 million won allegedly.
