Why I'm leaning towards situation B is that it seems Japan was still on the totem til Mongolia let go. If you watch the people on the background while they show Mongolia on the totem, Katsumi and Okami were not with their team. Also, when Mongolia let go, the 4 Japanese members celebrated as if they won 1st place. Makes me think JP was on the totem the whole time but Netflix edited it and made a point not to show them. So it is possible they were 'holding on' for 40mins and it was only discovered after they let go and the totems did not fully drop.
I'm not hinting that is intentional or dishonest, it's also possible they think it is not too heavy or the other person is carrying the weight that's why it's lighter.

I kinda doubt this. I think people were just overcritical of Korea. We did see the totems dropped heavily when Korea let go.

The only thing that they left vague is how the partially engaged pins of the totem challenge were discovered.
a. Did Japan immediately report it after feeling it was lighter? Kudos to them then!
b. Did they pretend to hold on and only discovered after the totems did not drop fully after they let go? That's a bit 🤔
c. They really can't tell that the weight was less.

Also contrary to others, I agree with the decision that only JP repeats the challenge. Mongolia did so well, it would be a waste if they were in worse conditions on the rematch. They don't have to suffer twice.
And thankfully, JP did well on the sack relay and avoided further repercussions on having to repeat the totem challenge. Had that been the sway points, I know many would question the rematch decision.

I think they knew, even Alexandra mentioned she had some doubts about sending all their big boys first and what if they lose. But they are just too confident they'd win 😆

So many bird brain comments on tiktok. I'm not even rooting for SoKor, but if you're gonna slander atleast give a believable argument or proof. All they have is ' tHis iS a kOReAn sHow , of coure they will win' 🥴 , ' they have a history of rigging' 😵‍💫. I know it's a hard pill to swallow if your team got eliminated but it is what it is. So far the first 9episodes are CLEAN.

Agreed. Alexandra clearly said that she had some doubts about the lineup. But I guess the rest (specially the men) were too confident that they couldn't even be bothered having a plan B.

I think it's because they learned their lesson from the bad decision in the hurdle game. Korea thought they got it by sending their big players in the first game and then AU (Dom) smashed them. Now they went for the too conservative approach.

Yeah, Alexandra mentioned it briefly that they should atleast plan in case they lose. But they probably ignored that thought as all the previous games (plus the minigames) were dominated by them.
It would suck if they get eliminated because of this. But in the end, strategy is also part of the game.

Yeah, I also wondered why they used SungBin as throwaway. I'm guessing they want to reserve MinJae incase deathmatch is about strength, and then Amotti in case it's about endurance. The only one that doesn't make sense is KDH himself, he shld have taken the ropes instead. But I feel this is where him being assigned leader played out. He probably wanted to have more control in the last game so he convinced the others, or probably overruled the decision on where SungBin plays.

Yeah, he gets stressed out pretty easily.😆

I hope (and I'm guessing Netflix actually will) they release special episodes. Some behind the scenes and added commentaries duries games. This was actually a fun season.

It irks me to no end reading comments saying it is rigged just because a team made a gamble about the deathmatch. C'mon, it's no secret! All the other teams knew the chances of it happening, that's why they strategized in saving some big players for later. Only ** who seem to be overconfident didn't even consider it.
Even I as audience knew something was up when they said only 3 can compete.
This is a game of strategy too and not just strength.

It will be a tragedy if AU gets eliminated. But they can only blame bad strategy. 🥲

man, I love Team Mongolia. It's not that they are seen as underdogs, but they exude silent power. They're all pretty cool and chill (specially their leader and the MMA guy).
