ep 22 now. This show reminds me why I prefer anti-heroes. ZZ with his self-righteous ideals is so frustrating. He's like the kid in class who will remind the teacher that there is homework.
I would say this drama is definitely ahead of it's time. I haven't started watching Queen of Tears yet, but based on some tiktok clips it reminded me of this drama. The FL was made to look bad but secretly she had suffered on her own. And it was the lost of their baby that was the catalyst to them giving up on their marriage.

The writing was great so far but I'm struggling to believe that Ning suffered no PTSD from the previous life. They highlighted XiWei's trauma from his childhood events so much and yet when Ning woke up in her 2nd life she showed no signs of terror with YL and yet she was scared of XW. And did she lead YL on in the 1st life? Why was he so enraged to the point of sexual assault if they weren't even in a romantic relationship in the first place?

Although, one thing I still do not understand, maybe someone can explain without too much spoiler as I'm just on ep18. I don't understand how NingEr became 'bad' and power obsessed in the previous life. What 'revenge' was she talking about? I get that her Mother was kinda biased and mean to her but I don't see that she was ever abused in their household, except for petty crimes from her staff which she actually punished them back. Her Dad and sister were also decent people.
Ep18 now. I'm so surprised because all of the 'most awaited dramas' in my list turned out disappointing for me, even the ones which are highest rated. And this one happen to be below on my list because although I like both Bailu and LingHe, I remember months ago I watched a video of the summary of the story and I felt there was no romance and honestly the political aspect might bore. But here I am getting hooked on all court intrigue even though the romance still hasn't started yet. It has a very interesting and intricate story pacing so far.
