Not bad. Draggy at times. I didn't really feel the chemistry of the leads but the second couple was cute.
Yeah watching it again but realised why I didn’t overly shipped the main’s romance….my personal opinion is that the FL is an excellent actress, her works are all known to be popular with great ratings but I for some reason can’t place her as romantic 🤷🏻‍♀️
Same thing with King Eternal…..there she also had a top ML but even though I enjoyed the drama, the romance for me was the same as here.
Perhaps it’s like a case of a great actress too good at what she does yet some performances you just need a deeper emotional experience in real life in order to act it out??
It could be just me but I much prefer her in non romance genres

SML acted & mirrored the Korean version but the reactions from viewers are polar opposite!
He is disliked so much here & after finishing this drama it stayed in my mind why I felt this way when they’re literally sticking with the scripts from the original.
Conclusion was simply the actors portraying their roles….Sung Joon (k-dr) was too good playing the in-love boyfriend but then again how can you dislike him when the FML from the Korean version was actually cheating & coming off as a 2 timer the whole time.
Unlike this version….the FML put a lot of effort in her relationship & majority of the drama was only an unrequited love from ML.

Title Forever and Ever Spoiler
Im planning to watch this but before that, I want to know if there's any breakup, toxic or annoying character/s?…
No breakup, no toxic themes or overly evil & annoying characters…maybe an overly stubborn mother.
You can totally understand this without watching the prequel.
The connection between the dramas is not completely linked…more like they feel a deeper connection amongst themselves, especially when they visited certain sites or read abt a certain point of history….a feeling like an ongoing déjà vu, like they’ve known each other in their past lives & are ment for each other.
That’s pretty much it!

Look like no Thomas character in this season. I know at the end of last season they give a hint his body been…
Same.. but then again they haven’t release the rest of the casts🤷🏻‍♀️
S1 they made everyone who were found disappeared except Thomas, he was only seen entering a room.
And they didn’t finalised the story of the young boy with the Mum (his character was too involved in season 1 to be forgotten), so maybe there could be a crossover of that ghost village again in S2

Excellent!
Love it when you watch a drama & it goes beyond your expectations!
Granted I didn’t cry but the emotions were defitnily there…rating it 9.5/10 only because I wanted to enjoy more than just 12 eps.
If there’s a season 2 I sure hope it’s double the episodes or more.

is this drama interesting? I'm asking if i can watch it
Judging from your watch list you will find this drama very interesting 👍🏻
Actually even if you’re not into it’s genre, this drama will still be an excellent watch.

Nice little drama…adult relationship, relatable bickering & no annoying scheming second leads!
Can’t really put my finger why some parts I don’t click with but it was nice to enjoy a more matured drama for a change.
Timing is also good for ratings….watching a drama when you feel like experiencing a certain genre & it hits the interest spot in you, the little negatives usually won’t mean much. 👍🏻

Xiao Lanhua is basically a baby born spirit, she only 1500 year compare to other immortals like DFCQ who is 30000…
Ahh I see what you mean…chipmunk is a bit much on the personal attack…l’m just glad it’s a plot direction & not her doing it on purpose like so many others.
I personally don’t think the director’s choice to have her do it was a smart move cause her acting was already innocent in the beginning but towards the end as a woman in love her voice was soft & even sensual so was perfect as such.

We already have long discussion here like 8 hours ago
I agree!!!
I watched the last 5 eps today but before doing it I popped in here for some reason & got spoiled for the ending.
Granted it wasn’t altogether a terrible spoil cause it was looking like a tragic ending which I would have hated….but then I didn’t feel anything for their sacrifices because I already knew they would be ok

Imagine it's her natural voice 🤡
I had the same issue…you ain’t alone in thinking that…trust me it’s only in the beginning and it’s not completely her natural voice like many are so quick to point out…she’s manipulating her voice a bit to sound childish to play out that she’s a young fairy.
In comparison to the 2nd half..same voice but without the childish sounds she makes..and as a woman in love you can really see & hear the sensual side of her voice.
I stop noticing it at around ep 10 onwards I think…before that it was a real struggle

No of course but it seems the misunderstanding is there…would like to add it’s not hate but that it’s a critic.
To be honest as K & C- drama lover who’s watched & rated over 300-400 dramas I completely understand the difference between the 2 as most of my rare 10 ratings are dramas like these with actresses like her.
And like I mention to someone before, I’ve seen her interviews & absolutely don’t have an issue with her voice… but just like criticising an actor for their acting, the childlike way of talking used with her voice is also an act.
Ofcourse I’m near the end of the drama & it’s so unnoticeable that it seems ridiculous that it was even thought of in the 1st place….that alone indicates that her personal voice wasn’t the issue & that it was an act added to it.
In saying that…I feel that if I or many like myself were to personally ‘hate’ her voice then even continuing this drama would be impossible…& that would have been a shame.
And the fact that she’s a professional voice dub before all these is the perfect way to acknowledge that it is also a job that is open for criticism.
But I’m not regretting commenting my original comment because if the director put her up to it then it’s a criticism mainly directed at him….but we now know it’s all part of the plot.
Perhaps if I had waited & watched a few more episodes, this comment section wouldn’t have even happened but of course if others like myself had the same issues starting this drama then it’s all worth the debate to better understand

Yes! It’s by no way stopping me from continuing but the voice is just making me zone out from going with the flow sometimes…I’m currently on ep 12 & enjoying the swap cause she’s not doing it then.
But thanks for the comment….was starting to think I shouldn’t have an honest opinion of a drama on a public grading page.

Yes I’ve figured that out as I progress through the drama but thank you for explaining anyhow…your comment would have explained everything quicker for me otherwise.
I heard some ppl also had an issue with it when it started and since I’m starting the drama later than most I’ll go ahead & leave my original comment & all it’s contents up here for future viewers to understand better like you said.

It’s the mindset that needs to change. Not everyone will be lucky to have the calm, natural, sexy tone that…
Oh gosh…you’re getting way too deep with this.

1st- I never claim to understand whatever you’re emphasising.

2nd- I never said I’m judging her voice to her as a person and yes I’m also someone who talks cute to my husband when I wanna act affectionate.
Note: Again all that has nothing to do with the drama

3rd- I clearly explained that I don’t have an issue with her voice…I’ve already seen her interviews & think it’s cute but the child like ‘Way’ she used her voice was clearly enhanced.
And you don’t need to explain the plot of the drama…I’m watching the same one you did.

4th- I’ve explained that I’ve later found out that she was told to do this for the start of the drama.

5th- Don’t assume I know nothing about the struggle of speaking another language- not that it has anything to do with my original comment 🤦🏻‍♀️
But yes I know all about it as I speak 3 languages & grew up with a Chinese grandma.

And lastly but not least….I clearly apologised for sounding like I was judging.
I’ll take it on board & move on.

I don’t claim to be insensitive with ppl’s misfortunes….unfortunately ppl seem to assume that’s my intentions after writing a 10 word comment.
Apologies if that’s what you read into it.
I don’t have an issue with her voice since I already know she doesn’t always sound like it hence my frustrations…it’s the constant baby sounds she enhance.
I’ll also would have an issue if a fav actor I know very well is voice dub cause it’s simply distracting.
But I’m only in the beginning & someone else has explained what I needed to hear & that it’s purposely done and won’t be either noticeable or continue throughout the drama.
