First time in my life I see a girl in a historical drama cross dressing as a man and look believable. Princess Yang Ying doing a fantastic job interpreting the role of a teenager prince, she actually act and speak as a fifteen noble young man 👏🏻
On episode 10 and the women in this drama are chef kiss for real my god I'm so happy, I love all of them 😭 The FL is soooo my type gosh I'd let her do whatever to me 💕
Plus the brotherly bond between the ML and his soldier friends is so heartwarming, I love the scenes with them all together teasing the ML about his relationship.
(also the ML's actor is way better than I expected?? This man has very expressive eyes and damn he /knows/ how to play a yearner, I'm liking him a lot so far)
Btw the actor who plays Chu Zhao, damn what a pretty face?? I hope his acting is just as good because I don't have any idea who his character is, but I'm already intrigued by his past trauma + scheming to gain favor.
Saw only the first two episodes and while there are some questionable moments, it left me wanting for more, so I'd take that as a win (still wish they had explained how the hell her master found He Yan almost dead drowning in a river, but maybe they'll tell us later? Who knows.)
Also am I the only one who's having problem with the audio? Sometimes it switch a bit and it turns weird, but maybe it's just because I'm watching the youtube version.

Tbh I hope when they'll have Zhou Ye pose as a man for her character, they'll work well with the make up bc I want it to be believable for everyone to mistake her as a man. She's an amazing actress so I'm sure she will deliver no problem on her part 😌
It's been almost five years since I saw this masterpiece and Yin Zheng still remain the most beautiful opera performer I've ever seen in a drama. He just look stunning when he's wearing opera make up and costumes, paired with his amazing acting, he managed to lure even me in his performances when I don't understand a thing about chinese opera.
It's basically old fashion cupcake in a different font 🥺 I don't know if I will like this as much as old fashion cupcake, but for now I will be along for the ride 💕
Hua Yong, you're one crazy fucker, but honestly I'm kinda living for this 😂 I advise everyone to turn off their moral compass while watching this because, apart from maybe Gao Tu, everyone here has VERY questionable & toxic behaviours lol.
(hua yong going "can't you stop assuming the worst from me?" to Mr. Sheng while actually doing beyond the worst to just trick his man into falling for him was hilarious not gonna lie)
It's seriously really good, one of the best wuxia bromance cdrama I've ever seen! I recommend The Blood of Youth also if you still haven't watched it, another very well made one ✨

Cheng Yi is a pretty good actor tbh his performance for now was amazing (and I fear I'll probably cry buckets from here to the last episode 🥲)
