Goodness it always surprises me... the way we have such double standards when it comes to cdramas or kdramas. I've always noticed that mature kdramas get way more harshly judged than these cdramas.

Just finished it! It's such an underrated drama! I loved everybody!

Lee Je Hoon and Shin Min Ah's chemistry is honestly one of the BEST I've ever seen in Dramaland!! They're so terribly, hilariously adorable!! I clicked rewind wayyyyy more than I hit forward on most dramas. πŸ₯°πŸ₯° I'm so glad I watched this even with the low ratings. It's a beautiful, heartwarming story that really makes you think and cherish the present you have.

And don't even get me started on the exceptional cinematography. The muted, autumn-y color palette is so beautiful... perfect to immerse yourself in on a rainy day! I loved the way some scenes were shot.

Watch it with your heart, not your head!!

Currently at ep 11 and I'm starting to become irritated to Je Hoon's character. I see him as a close minded person…
The beauty is in the way his character changes and grows... "Even if it's just for one minute, I want to spend it with her." Can you believe he says that?!!

To everyone saying both women were annoying, you haven't watched many historical cdramas, have you? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Goodness. AOL's FL is nothing compared to half the others I've watched :P

The article is biased. It clearly favors LAR. One of the article that makes no sense is that saying AOL has no…
I agree that the article feels a little biased(no hate toward the author πŸ˜…). Even though Jin Mi couldn't feel emotions, there was LOTS of overflowing chemistry I felt between the two. The whole story is epic, deep and passionate. I didn't think JM was annoying... she was cute and made me laugh quite a bit... and we also get to see that adoring look from Phoenix every time she does something funny. I missed her dorky self a LOT after she completely matured. DL as the phoenix was such a swoony character 😍😍

Even the saddest scenes were written so unbelievably well. I usually hate sad scenes but the dialogue and the way those scenes are shot make it so epic and tragically beautiful that I can watch them again and again. Another commenter here said it was "artistically beautiful". I agree wholeheartedly. It was a mesmerizing watch.

So in the end, I think it's based on your personal preference. One thing I can say with AOL: you have to read between the lines. They don't vocalize every emotion, you have to feel the love more than rely on their words.

People found this boring?? Excuse me what? Wow, i am shocked. Except for the last episode this was pretty intense…
I know, right? I had my heart going so fast half the time... especially those near misses 🀯... I thought it was because I watch mostly rom-coms.

Those people who find the drama boring are the 1% of earth's population lolxDThis drama has a very high score…
I know... but this comment section makes it look like that 1% of the population all group here and throw hate 😳

I think the biggest reason people find this drama boring is because they enter thinking it's only a crime thriller. It's not. It's a fusion of genres and it's beautiful. If you want a fluffy rom-com, this isn't the one. If you want a complete crime thriller, it's not that, either.

The writer wanted to write a story of a marriage where the woman finds out her husband is not the man she thought he was. The thriller/psychopath/detective aspect was added just to heighten the drama. If you watch it for what it intended to beβ€” a gritty, deep story of a relationship between two peopleβ€” you'll love it.

The FL had to make such difficult choices. She was so strong. LJG and MCW totally gave life to this couple. Analyze the relationship and emotions, not the crime/thriller part. The drama makes you think a lot. There are little things and big things you have to observe. The writers don't explain everything with words... this is an "actions speak louder than words" drama. Because you can't trust any of the words they speak.

I agree it depends on everyone, I also think ratings are subjective. I seem to always give High ratings, but I…
I usually check MDL ratings and then Viki ratings(which have lower standards lol)... if you take an average, it's usually very reliable as to whether the drama is good or not. Could you name a few dramas with low ratings that you liked?

My comfort dramas also include I'm Not A Robot, Lost Romance, 18 Again, Oh My Venus and Touch Your Heart... I've lost count of the number of times I've re-watched them whenever I felt low :)

I don't know but everytime i want to finish, WLFKB, GO AHEAD and PLAYFUL KISS but couldn't pass WLFKB ( 2 EPISODE…
Go Ahead is a little heavy/dark in the first few eps because of the boys' moms and all, but it gets better. I loved the adopted "family" and the way both the fathers band together to raise their children. It's really beautiful and the OST is so healing.

I really, really loved Hyun Soo but I was so blown away by Ji Won's character too! Her struggle to leave or love…
I have that one on my overflowing, neverending watchlist! Guess I'll buo it up and check it out soon! :D

Flowers of Evil is truly a masterpiece. I actually took a long break from Kdramas and that drama took me back…
I really, really loved Hyun Soo but I was so blown away by Ji Won's character too! Her struggle to leave or love the man she used to think was her whole world but was lying to her all along... I thought she was one of the strongest FLs ever. I could have never anticipated the decisions she made. The OST put her feelings so perfectly into words:
"In my heart, if this is love I'm not afraid
In my heart I'll always be by your side...
Even if it's regretful or painful, I don't care
I'll hold out my hand and go to you, It's where I need to be...
In my heart, even if this heart comes crashing down, I love you."

I loved how everything in Flower of Evil screamed TRAGEDYYYYY and we had so many heartbreaking scenes but the writers still gave us a beautiful ending.

They are such a beautiful couple... honestly the way LJG just broke down like that... the scene was so raw and full of emotions, there was no pretense or lies, just two broken people clinging to each other.
