Mei Si calls Mei Zhuyu "little fish So they kept the child wu zhen vibe it's just funny to me, mei zhuyu sails off with her in that carriage of his that she made fun of earlier in the drama
it just dawned on me earlier the criticism why she takes a bath with her clothes on, well she was not taking a bath, but why have the appearance of having clothes on in a bathtub, but in this scene, mei zhuyu asks her why she doesn't have her clothes on after changing back, so I think that when she changes back, she is always dressed as before she transformed, which explains why she had her night gown on, after the cat jumped into the bath tub.
oh, it's hilarious. that line, even the cute novel lines didn't come up with that - "it's a male."
in the novel, he never said drink slowly, he forced the cat to drink it, and that's why the cat ran away, then I forget who told mei zhuyu he doesn't know how to handle women, to force her like that, but mei zhuyu thought but I needed her to drink it, in the novel after drinking it, the cat later turned into a child wu zhen
Never tell Mei Zhuyu he's on a different path with Wu Zhen, he will never accept it. He already said when he proposed to her, life is too short, I will never let you go.
Oh, they did edit something out, it went from he was by her side, to suddenly he's fighting wordless book. that was super apparent, even to a dense person like me. another scene, they were by her bed, now they're suddenly shifted to rooftop. I don't think they're mistakes, for whatever reason, they had to do this.

so that's what wisteria demon is good for, a tool for mei zhuyu
that's interesting, even demons don't like "sinister aura." I used to think in storytelling that demons are evil like you think a devil is, but apparently demons and devils are different entities
Mei Zhuyu is an impressive man. Even after she told him everything, he stayed calm and took it all in. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t upset—he clearly was—but he kept his composure. That’s what helped him realize she was in danger. People like him don’t let emotions take over. They stay steady, think things through, and act when it counts.
this has to be Tian Xi Wei's best role of her career. The character is so rich and multi-faceted. It's the kind of role when done right, she can show her range, which she did. I feel like her performance is good enough to get a nomination for outstanding acting award.
To me, the mood of the intro music at the beginning of each episode subtly echoes Mei Zhuyu’s character—calm and composed on the surface, yet quietly steeped in longing. As the melody unfolds, it shifts from yearning to joy, sprinkled with whimsical and eerie tones that reflect the drama’s emotionally rich and dreamlike atmosphere.
The end of Ep 31 and start of Ep 32 I like rewatching. I knew this director who loves to shoot super up close will benefit Xu Kai's super nuanced acting, especially his eyes.
These are very stable and consistent Vlinkage scores. It never got up to high 80's that dramas like Joy Life or Tale of Rose would get, but very steady, means the audience was loyal and engaged. Maintaining mid 80's is considered difficult to do and likely garner you top popularity ranking which it did, if it maintains this through this week, it can get top ranking back-to-back weeks. I believe it will because the last few episodes are even more engaging. I'm just afraid the ending may shock some. Do viewers really only want to see all happiness? I think some angst makes for memorable storytelling.
Top 10 Most Influential Male Characters in August 2025:❤️ Mei Zhuyu; Xu Kai #Moonlit Reunion#❤️ Han Li;…
Pei Jiya made the list, I'm not surprised. I really like how he played his character. I think his portrayal of Wu Zhen's cousin is more compelling than the second male lead portrayal of Wu Zhen's deputy, aka Wordless Book. I looked him up and most of his dramas are 24 episodes. I feel like this may be his breakout role that helps him to land better roles.
"I hope she can live well. As long as she's alive, I can endure it, even if we don't meet each other again."
So they kept the child wu zhen vibe

it's so great to watch a drama not knowing what will happen next
this drama is so funny, just when things get serious, it gets delightful and hits you unexpectedly.
There’s a classy vibe to the production quality—it’s polished, tasteful, and clearly crafted with care.
