MDL is not the only rating. Moonlit Reunion received an above average Douban of 6.6. so, I'll take that one instead. the typical correlation I've seen is 8.5 on MDL will get around 6.5 to 6.8 on Douban. But lately quite a few 8.5 to 8.8 on MDL are getting 5.5 on Douban. What does it all mean anyway? Just a number.
It's common in stories/shows/movies to get an episode that seems to be mostly lighthearted. It's the breathing…
I felt what you said but I wasn't sure if it's just me. You validated what I was feeling but didn't understand. I think you're saying all the chess pieces are finally arranged for checkmate. after what you said, I need to rewatch it again,
This drama is like a wave that keeps cresting and pulling back. I have a feeling the final four episodes will be incredibly intense and end on a powerful emotional high.
This looks really cool so i want to share. A kind of what if they meet again in the modern world ^^https://youtube.com/shorts/QatRQYssBTc?feature=shared
I've been thinking about this, and WZS is no worse than the ML. He loves WZ obsessively (just like MZY) - but…
I rewatched the scene where Mei Zhuyu forcefully kissed her. It was emotionally complex after everything that had just happened and everything being said. Her words were like daggers — sharp, relentless, each one plunging deeper and deeper, meant to push him away. When she said she’d live freely and travel the mortal realm, he asked her to repeat it, and before she could, he did forcefully kissed her. It was the only moment in the entire drama that he lost his composure, overwhelmed by the fear of losing her. In this context, I did not feel he was violating her. They’re still married afterall, and both the drama and novel portray Mei Zhuyu as so strong in love, he was alwasy brusing her, not abusive. However, that kiss was not out of love but desperation, him clinging to her, refusing to let go. When he proposed, he did tell her, "no matter what, you cannot leave me, life is too short, I'll never let you go. You're the one who provoked me and stir up desires in me."
MZY never "stalked her," the way I watched the drama. The word stalking is totally out of character for Mei Zhuyu and I never saw him doing that. The times he went to her he knew she was in danger. The time he dangled the Wisteria demon over a fire was another desperate attempt to get her to talk because he felt she's not being honest about why they can't be together. After she lost her memory, he wanted to protect her from Wordless Book, then he wanted to help her to regain her memory even if it meant losing her because she will need to cultivate for 100 years. Yes, his sect brother said that after what happened between them, Wu Zhen would not go back to him, if not for her memory loss, that's true. Mei Zhuyu is with her now because he saved her from maniac wordless book trying to force a demon core inside her and almost killing her and then she lost her memory, he wants to help her regain it. I don't see any stalking behavior.
I actually think you are very astute to notice these details, but I view them differently.
HUGE SPOILER!!Don't open the links if you don't want to be spoiled:https://x.com/moonlitreturns/status/1962822626264453254?t=NGbm1XnpX_kIf-QzhSEejA&s=19https://x.com/Nchdlwlrma/status/1962810573865001032?t=-yFoHLj1gYv2qJj7Xgevqw&s=19
OK that doesn't mean it ends that way, right? but I love Xu Kai's acting in these scenes, never believer naysayers, they always speak too soon.
Xiaotian's character is mostly cute and adorable in her drama! It's the first time I'm seeing her as matured and…
no not at all, and your English is really great. I'm just saying I'm different, I don't see her as flirty, but flirty is what is being used to describe her because she may appear flirty, but she really isn't.

Mei Zhuyu is one heck of a gentlemen. She hugged him and said your heart is beating fast and so is mine. She wanted him but he politely declined and slept apart from her, because he did not want to take advantage of her memory loss, knowing that she didn't even want to see him before she lost her memory. So, out of respect even though he's still legally married to her, he didn't sleep with her.
Wu Zhen did not fall in love with Mei Zhuyu simply because he was handsome and talented. He treated her well, that's why she fell for him, but also because he's handsome and talented. Even before he saved her, she had already fallen for him, but he was too reserved, so she needed to be the one to chase.
Mei Zhuyu was never obsessed with Wu Zhen. It was Wu Zhen who caused him to have desires that he tried to not have. Their relationship took many episodes to build up. But Mei Zhuyu is a decisive man. Once he made up his mind, he wanted to marry her, he said it was for keeps, even if she is tired of him, she cannot get rid of him.
I think Wu Zhen will give Wordless Book the proper justice.

It's not you at all! it's okay, flirty is okay to use, everyone says she' flirty but it's just me, I don't like that word for her. Nothing to do with your English, your English is great.

I may be the only one, but I never saw Wu Zhen as a flirty character. I thought she portrayed Wu Zhen very respectable lady who stood up to anyone. She really did feel like Wu Zhen in the novel, just like the way Mei Zhuyu in the drama described her, "You are an excellent lady, You are the bravest, most determined, and most outstanding lady I've met. You're even more outstanding than most of the men I've encountered."

She didn't meet a man she liked until Mei Zhuyu.
