The cliche of sml to force ML jealous.. what a bad schemeAnd the sml is already annoying...another drama with…
ML is a strict Taoist and although he has feelings for Wu Zhen, he's protective not possessive, but of course it's human nature to be jealous, and in the novel, the character did experience jealous moment, but it was not played out in any drawn-out fashion. Mei Zhuyu suspects Pei Jiaya and need to stay close to him, and the need to protect Wu Zhen because he doesn't know her powers.
Now what is current status it's been 2 hour when I asked you about heat index
heat indexes I was following a couple of drama earlier this year and well, it seems like it can be manipulated too, the way those scores happened, it didn't feel organic. I know why they do it and why it's important, and why it works. big money involved.
Also, on most MDL pages, people are always talking about the ratings lol. I rarely rate shows while it's ongoing…
Ratings aren't really meaningful. In addition, they are subject to manipulation. The difference is that Xu Kai doesn't have water armies to prop up his scores when water armies shoot it down. I was following a few drams and notice that pattern, even they get hit with massive 1's but they can come back with massive 5's that exceed 1's.
It's hard to find anything appealing with Mei Zhuyu when his character barely has any development other than hanging…
its' only ep 15 or 16, earlier comments made, " plot hole, plot hole, how dumb he breaks his legs jumping off the tower gate"or "why he passed out." were premature comments. The quality of this production and the unique IP exceed dramas with higher MDL scores which don't always reflect quality. This drama flows more like a continuous cinematic movie with a central storyline than common drama soap opera style stories one conflict after another. This story is one that you immerse yourself into it from beginning to end instead of rush.
I was wrong to assume he had no powers to defy gravity. Mei Zhuyu indeed was only pretending to not be able to land on his jump off the tower gate and rather break his leg than show his true powers. I just saw a clip of him gliding in the air across the waters. It means he does possess qingqong to perform these acts. In addition, the clip shows Mei Zhuyu fighting with his sword. Both of these things, qingqong and swordsmanship aligns with wuxia martial heroes, and the label wuxia can apply to this drama.
Qinggong (轻功), or "lightness skill," is an ancient Chinese martial arts technique and training method focused on developing extreme agility, lightness, and the ability to perform gravity-defying feats, like jumping high and moving with incredible speed. While practitioners use physical training to increase their bodily lightness, the concept is often exaggerated in wuxia stories to depict superhuman abilities such as gliding on water or scaling walls.
In wuxia novels, protagonists often hide their true powers to create drama, show humility, or surprise foes, though it’s not always the case and varies by character and story. They may downplay skills to stay safe, outsmart enemies, or keep a low profile in the dangerous martial world, often reflecting virtues like restraint and wisdom valued in wuxia codes.
Honestly, I was thinking why would Xu Kai would take a role that he can't swing a sword.
in the novel, Pei Jiaya was a few years older than Wu Zhen, handsome, gentle, refined, tall, elegant,
not a nice guy "but my cousin has malicious intentions, and I have to worry that you will attack the people around me again." She paused, "Especially my husband" " if Pei Jiya really wants to make trouble, Chang'an City will have turned upside down." "when her cousin Pei returns to Queensland, the 'rat lichen' she made will take effect, and then she will have to invite her cousin to be a mouse for a few days. As the saying goes, treat the person in the same way."
Episode 12 was absolutely lit!!The fight scene between Elder Hui and Wu Zhen was epic—well-shot, intense, and…
unfortunately, Mei Zhuyu is an expressionless man. see here is a description from the novel, "Mei Zhuyu sat on the edge of the bed, holding a civet cat in his arms, expressionless for a while, " an interview, Xu Kai said the director told them to not widen their eyes because they both have big eyes, or the director is looking for a duller vibe from Mei Zhuyu, opposite of dazzling Wu Zhen
in the drama, their identities became known to each other, there was plague god approaching Chang'an. Cat Lord…
I put a spoiler. it's how it happened in the novel only. no one knows the script will go. So, if they follow the novel, chapter 35 marriage and chapter 45 they discover each other identity, which means discovering each other identity could still be a ways off.
