The actor who plays YZM 's assistant is such a character. I like him.

The mother is right. I'm noticing the father has no capabilities. He can't seem to handle anything. It's no wonder MCH became so capable. She had to take care of everything for her parents.

Now I"m starting to get a glimpse of the hard life of MCH's mother and why she drives her daughter to marry well.
but these sad stories are unfortunately all too common.

Their place is flooded, and she worried about MCH's shoes getting wet.
She says, "what kind of life is this?"
"One-person is not competent marries another person less competent, how can they live well?"
She says to her daughter, "life is hard without money"

I'm just starting on ep 13 and now that YZM is letting down his guard a little bit, he turned off the cold , distant stares, and is more open and allowing himself to be more vulnerable with her.
I like XK acting, the eye expressions are not fixed, but natural and spontaneous convey deep emotions, the subtle gestures, the sad lonely resignation in his voice, which reminds me of the opening music, that sound of longing for something.

Is there some hidden meaning here after that sad story of his past "I want a refill. I want it warm."

the son sleeping on the balcony doesn't surprise me because the house is so tiny, he can't share a room with the sister. Mother prefers a girl have her own privacy, but they make no secret in the family that the daughter is the favorite and he accepts it because he loves his sister. This is reality of life for a lot of people. In HK, I heard if you are really poor, you are lucky to have a space that is just big enough to lie down. the long travel time is reality too for people.

yes. that makes sense. she left a successful wealthy businessman who cheated on her and found true love with a poor man who truly loved her. She said to her grandson that he's so much like his grandfather. She also said to the grandson "have you never sought after something meaningful?"

yeah, it's not nice but she's all too familiar, these types of Chinese women the way they talk to their husbands, these nagging wives, this drama is so real life, except the happy ending is not that real life, in real life, things don't work out like a fairy tale

Why did the wealthy, independent, smart, wise, sophisticated, lovely grandma marry the fl's grandfather? If the fl's father was born poor in rural China, wouldn't the fl's grandfather's situation be similar to her father?

the drama does not tell their story so who knows, maybe she's right. there is something about the father the drama does not tell us what his issues are.

I like the bf. he's sweet, adorable, and kind, just not smart, unreliable, no backbone, etc. etc. etc.

I think both fear each other's families, so they just avoided it. Neither of them wanted to confront it.
