They don't understand that Chinese Paladin has elements of that in it, whether it's from the game or in keeping with the initial CP adaptations. I've watched some episodes of CP1 and the fl and sfl have childish speaking tones (fl is an adult act like a naive young girl out of a fairytale, but eventually become mature) too maybe not as much as Qi because of her character,
and naive personalities (don't know what a guys adams apple is or what two people do in a marraige chamber, etc.), and life size almost like stuff animal that can talk like in a children's program - why? , lots of humor (two adults fighting over food with chopsticks was in CP1 too), and magical things that seem like out of children's fairytale but really more like what you find in Mythology stories.
But Sword and Fairy storylines contain heavy philosophical themes, tragedies, deaths and even sad endings and definitely not children's drama, just because it contains childlike elements and contain humor, the stories are quite serious. The stories often explore themes such as fate, destiny, love, sacrifice, and morality, raises questions about the meaning of life, the nature of good and evil, and the consequences of one’s actions. At the same time, it is entertaining as well as enlightening, and include action, adventure, romance, and comedy.

Xu Kai loves to eat especially spicy food. He is also a very good cook. There is a cooking vlog of him cooking. He seems like such a normal guy for a celebrity. For example, in one of his livestreams with Jing Tian, he said he went shopping to get buy some organizers for his stuff and that he found a store the prices were good, and he "saved a lot of money." Jing Tain said "so you are a good shopper". Then Xu Kai realizing what she is insinuating said "No no no, i couldn't' sleep so I went to the store". Then switched the subject. I don't think it looks good for his reputation to be this normal of person. He seemed to be caught off guard and just genuinely being himself because sometimes in those livestreams when it's just him and the female lead, they sometimes make small talk.

In another interview, they asked him if it is important that the girl he marries can cook really well, and he instantly said "no, I rather she is a kind person".

I don't know but I don't think so.

His demeanor, gestures, and imposing figure convey a sense of authority when he portrays this kind of character. Bian may look like Bai Jue and Boxuan, but I can sense the differences in how Xu Kai is portraying Bian. There is a different aura between Bian and Bai Jue. This is why I watch XK dramas. His versatile expressions are like admiring art.

His demeanor, gestures, imposing figure, those expressions of being cool and aloof when he portrays this kind of character. This one comes off darker than Bai Jue.

yesterday I saw 9.0 for age group 25 -34, the largest group, but it dropped today to 8.8. MDL shows every age group is over 8.0. the two largest age groups combined 18 - 34 make up 1/3 of the audience gave it 8.8 to 8.9, yet the score everyone sees on MDL is 7.6. Go figure.
The psychology is well, why am I rating it a 9 when it's only average 7.6, am I overlooking something, maybe I'm too generous.

I can only watch for free and Tencent has uploaded the free episdoes to You Tube. I will watch it slowly (cuz free means I'll be way behind VIP) and savor each episode and take time to understand fantasy world of CP6. I found that I really enjoy rewatching the humor. And there's plenty of it. The humor is so good.. it's not stupid stuff or crazy funny, just very subtle, cute interactions that are humorous, timing is everything in humor.

this drama does not deserve a 7.6. the story, acting, fight scenes deserve better. Ratings are subjective so if someone can rate it a 1 , I can rate it a 10, and that will still only average to 5.5.

I don't' know what's going on with MDL, the watching is 8.38. When I go to the by age group, it's all above 8.0 (yesterday was 9.0) and even the 13-17 has increased from 7.7 to 8.2 today. Why is the overall not at least 8.0. The early days of airing is critical to momentum of heat index. If a viewer is deciding between another fantasy drama with 8.0 and CP6 is 7.6. which do you think they will watch first?
The low 7.6 also influences others psychology, they think oh, there must be flaws I'm not seeing. I guess I should rate it lower too. You're putting up 7.6 which reflects those who dropped it at below at 2.5 and those who purposely rate it low when they haven't' even watched the episode is hurting the heat for this drama. If I enjoy rewatching ep 2 a few times, I have the right to give it a 10 regardless of some technical flaws

Episode 2 rewatch value is high for me. I enjoy the humor so much.

if I hadn't watched the character in the video game, I wouldn't' have connected her performance to the character. She nails the nuances of her character, the way she stands, the facial expressions, the way she fights. In the game, I noticed how the character will make this expression whenever she sees Jinzhao and Qi act playful and Wan Peng does the same expression well. She is believable. When I see her, I think of that character in the game, same with Esther and Xu Kai. I'm only at episode 3 because I can only watch for free, but these are my impressions so far.

Wan Peng really nails her character. She too looks and feels like the character in the game.
