Why not someone talking about how innocently she touches his Adam's Apple ...🥰🥰🥰🥰
In Chinese Paladin 1, the beginning episode when the ml and fl meet, the fl did not know what an adams apple was and touched his and asked what is that? why don't i have one? When they were in marriage chamber together, she had no idea what for? like what are we supposed to do here?
her voice is childish too but not as much. The sfl has a childish voice too. There are human size Sesame Street-like character, also I saw a chopstick fight.

So I feel CP6 is just following the spirit of Sword and Fairy. I'm sure CP4 has similar traits as well, naive lead, who later becomes most powerful and no longer naive.

People who have no interest in Sword and Fairy or fantasy should not even rate the drama because of course, they will not give it a fair rating. they don't like that kind of drama to begin with, so they will only skew the rating for potential watchers who may be looking for a good fantasy drama.

The story is set in a world of Chinese heroism and fantasy come to life. Thus, the drama adaptations were called Chinese Paladin (paladin means heroism or chivalry).

When The Legend of Sword and Fairy was first adapted into a live-action television drama in 2005, the production marketed it as "Chinese Paladin" for international viewers (but in China it remained to be known as Sword and Fairy), to promote the values of Chinese heroism.

Chinese Paladin means "Chinese chivalry" or a "Chinese warrior". Paladin is a medieval French word that means "warrior", later its meaning grew into any chivalrous or heroic person, someone who fights for a cause, which is the main thought of the Legend of Sword and Fairy's storyline.

I am a fan of both, especially Xu Kai 🥰. I just finished watching ep 1 and honestly it failed to captivate…
When Jinzhao and Qi woke up (not in the drama) starting with day 7 of game explains a lot about the actor's portrayal and I think they did a masterful job. Notice how Jinzhao makes that face because he can believe how dumb she is. I saw Xu Kai made that face in episode 1 and after I watched this, I understood what that face expression means now. Notice how the choreography of the drama fight scenes are very similar to the game. This drama may not be your cup of tea and that's okay. I like these two actors and the drama is well produced I think.

The game plot from Wikipedia:

Sometime in the past, Yue Jinzhao and Yue Qi awaken outside of a village with no memories of their past. They begin to travel together in hopes of discovering who they are.

In the present, Luo Zhaoyan, the head of powerful House Luo, is trying to defeat a cult organization involved in kidnapping. He works together with the clever Jinzhao and naĂŻve but powerful Qi, who were tricked by the cult. Zhaoyan also enlists the aid of the True Martial Alliance, who allow the timid Mechanist Altar Leader Ju Shifang to assist them. They are joined by Ming Xiu, a strict but caring spirit healer, and Xian Qing, her calm demonic companion. This party of six serves as the protagonists of the game.

During the elimination of a cult cell, they discover a suspicious doctor named Bian Luohuan. While trying to escort him to the city of Jingan to be interrogated by the Alliance, Luohuan escapes with the help of mysterious comrades. Severely injured, the party rest in a small mountain village inhabited by Xiu’s mentor, Gu Hanjiang. As the guardian of the Fount of Wu Gou, he has the ability to see into the future if he pays a price.

The Alliance discover the main cultist base and the party participate in the assault upon recovering, but are defeated by the cult leader, Ying Xuwei. Luohuan is revealed to be in Xuwei’s employ. Xuwei activates the base’s self-destruct mechanism, and Hanjiang sacrifices himself to save everybody. In despair, Xiu wants to resurrect him with the Fount of Long Tan, said to be able to bring back the dead but at a great price. Zhaoyan reveals that she is a woman, and that her brother Maiming is Guardian of the Fount of Re Hai, thus able to send them to the world where the Founts reside. At Long Tan, they learn that it is only possible to revive a person if another is sacrificed. Xiu does not go through with the resurrection and succeeds Hanjiang as Guardian of Wu Gou.

Afterwards, the party encounter Luohuan again. During the fight, Luohuan is severely wounded, but kidnaps Qi. Zhaoyan believes Maiming can help track them down, but he betrays and traps them. He then uses dark magic given to him by Xuwei to break the curse that binds Re Hai to him, passing guardianship to Zhaoyan when he dies. Xuwei confronts the party afterwards and invites them his base for a truce and a discussion with his Hengdao Society.

They learn of an ancient creature named Zhu Yu with two life stages: hibernating at the bottom of the ocean, and flying up in the sky. The Piscis demon race constructed a city on her back in the sea and when Zhu Yu awoke and flew, much of the city was destroyed. Feeling guilt, she spent massive amounts of lifeforce to preserve the lives of the Piscis, then attacked the Society for the power of the Fount they guarded, Wu Hun. Striking a bargain, the Society used the cult to gather life force to give to her. Their methods begin to corrupt her, and so Qi is created from her bones and blood as a weapon to kill her if she succumbs to darkness. Luohuan was intended to activate her but is now too injured to do so. As Wu Hun allows for travel to the past, the party go with Luohuan to set in motion many of the events that have been encountered up until this point. They also return to Long Tan, where Luohuan sacrifices himself to “create” Jinzhao, an entity who can resonate with Qi. Kidnapping Qi from the past, they leave the newly-created Jinzhao with past-Qi.

When they return, a maddened Zhu Yu flies over the city of Jingan and feasts on human
lifeforce, killing many. Shifang sacrifices himself to deliver a curse onto Zhu Yu to significantly weaken her and the Piscis demons. Xiu blinds herself to access the powers of Wu Gou and identifies Zhu Yu’s weak points, allowing the Society to attack her for further damage. With the rest of the party fending off the Piscis, Jinzhao and Qi confront Zhu Yu and defeat her. As Luohuan was so injured when Jinzhao was created, he finally fades away from existence as well.

Later, the party agrees to use Re Hai to heal Zhu Yu’s body and assist the Piscis, but this destroys the settlement of Yinghui Keep, ruining their reputation. Afterwards, Zhaoyan and Qing agree to continue to adventure together, while Xiu returns to Hanjiang’s mountain village, and Qi leaves the group to return to Long Tan. She attempts to sacrifice herself to bring back Jinzhao. Earlier, however, Xuwei struck a bargain with Long Tan as well, believing the disaster caused by Zhu Yu to be his mistake and wanting to repay the Yue siblings. Qi and Xuwei disappear with Long Tan’s activation, and Jinzhao is seen to be reborn.

In the epilogue, Shifang is remembered as a hero for his sacrifice, while his “three friends” and the Society are regarded as villains. It is revealed that both Qi and Jinzhao were reborn, but in such a way that they were never involved in the story.

The description of the game plot from 2019 article is interesting, and provides some insights about the drama adaptation (in the drama, the cult name is Qiyuan Sect):

"The story of Sword & Fairy 6 starts off with a confrontation between Luo Zhaoyan and two alleged members of an infamous cult known as the Risen Soul Saints. After a brief fight, the two members, Yue Jinzhao and Yue Qi, reveal to Zhaoyan that they are only faking their membership in the cult. They both agree to cooperate with Zhaoyan in her investigation of the nearby shrine where they discover human-like statues and documents that reveal that the beggars they kidnap are being treated like cattle. Joining them are the socially awkward mechanic and True Martial Alliance member Ju Shifang; the cold, passive aggressive mage Ming Xiu; and stoic wolf demon, Xian Qing, all of whom have their own motivations. It doesn’t take long for them to catch the attention of the cult as well as the mysterious organization known as the Hengdao Society, who are interested in Jinzhao and Qi for reasons unknown. As they uncover exactly what the cult is up to, they get caught up in a conflict between factions that potentially threatens all of mankind.

The narrative and cast of characters prove to be Sword & Fairy 6’s strongest asset. As the conflict unravels, it becomes clear that the story is not so much about good versus evil but a story of factions working towards their own goals and ambitions. This is supported by excellent use of the characters, with none of the major players in the story quite being what they seem at first glance. This extends to the antagonists, who are revealed to be just as complex and multifaceted as the game’s six party members. The game deftly explores what it means to fight against pre-determined fate, exercise free will, as well as the lengths friends and foes go to protect those loved ones. It’s not uncommon throughout the game to spend a couple hours at a time going from cutscene to cutscene as the story unfolds; though it can get long-winded at times, it’s a testament to the strength of the story and characters that it never feels extraneous..."

Someone gave CP4 1.5 and said:
"Story is like a mix of Peter Pan, Lord of the Rings.... Literally a 3 years Olds drama...."

This person doesn't know he is talking about because The Lord of the Rings is one of the most popular works of literature of all time. It has sold over 150 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 38 languages, inspired many adaptations, such as movies, TV shows, video games, and board games. Some of the reasons for its enduring popularity are its masterful world-building (fictional world), its coherent and relatable characters, and its epic and timeless story. Many fans of The Lord of the Rings enjoy escaping into the rich and immersive fantasy world of Middle earth, where they can experience adventure, friendship, and heroism.

has any episode explained yet why Qi needs to eat so much that poor Jinzhao has to keep finding ways to make money to feed her appetite?

Qi is already strong but her character is more of the cute and naive type. And yes, Jinzhao does take care of…
Qi has a teenage body but woke up with not only no memory but an empty brain, no language skills, like an AI program, takes things literal meaning, and obviously no social skills. Jinzhao woke up in teenage body with no memory but retained high intelligence and knowledge of how things work. Almost seems like her brain went to him. What's interesting is that she's not capable of crying as a member of Kun Clan yet she shed tears for Jinzhao. Just shows you the power of love.

I hope u guys dont hate me for my opinion.I watch this because of xu kai and esther yu. I love both of them esp…
Qi comes across childish on the surface but she's smart. Jinzhao is so protective of her, he's not letting her grow up. From the first two episodes, there has been three clues that Jinzhao has feelings for her, but he knows she doesn't understand this world. In the game, when she first woke up, she had an empty brain. Jinzhao was so frustrated with her not knowing how to talk and not knowing anything, he called her "dummy", "brain damage". But the drama starts 3 years after they woke up so she's improved. She's a fast learner for having only three years of life experience. In Ep 1, When Jinzhao tricked her by giving her a bag of stones, she copied his trick later on and did not get scammed by Mr. Meng. Later, in Ep2, she learned that crying can be useful because Jinzaho felt bad for her. She's always spouting off information like an AI program because she reads a lot of storybooks. She has no social skills because she hasn't learned them yet. The only "family" she has is Jinzhao. Jinzhao was the first person she saw, she followed him around last 3 yrs. and he made her egg noodles. I wonder if there is any significance to her odd behavior of eating so much. When Luo Zanyun says they will give back the spoils to the people, Qi remember the bank notes Jinzhao kept and says Oh so those are spoils too? Jinzhao was going to keep it but her brain doesn't work that way. Her brain can only process data logically not play tricks unless it's been taught to her. Logically, the bank notes are part of the spoils. I think of her as some alien or in case of wuxia, perhaps an immortal who has inhabited or reborn into this teenage body with empty or infant brain. She talks the way she does because that's how the character is in the game. Her naive and innocence combined with that voice opposite his smart and protective nature is the intended chemistry and the special bond that they wanted to create between them, and the actors are nailing the nuances of their interactions and behaviors toward each other. The problem is that the drama doesn't show their beginnings. Unfortunately, her early character in the drama is a turn off for some people and used by haters to put in low ratings and bad reviews. Even the super popular Chinese Paladin 1 from 19 years ago, I saw couple of similar comments like the following, sound familiar?

Uhh... 6 minutes in and I have no idea wtf is happening. I'll give it a 10 just for the weird flying wicked-witch-of-the-west dude in the squishy pumpkin hat. May come back to this later.

Anu’s voice was suuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr annoying almost unbearable. I almost stopped watching this because of her voice. A lot of stupid childish scenes that could’ve been skipped. Premise of the story was alright, so I just held on.

I've been watching CP1 to see why it was so popular and rated over 9.0 on Douban and I can say it was justified, but at the same time, I can still enjoy CP6 and cannot expect it to be like CP1, production and actors are totally different. I actually like the more realistic techniques of creating special effects in the old days (CP1 was 19 years ago). Each drama has its own merits and entertainment value.

7.7 is a "quite good" rating. Not like it's 4.
My time is limited so I use the score as a gauge when randomly looking. I also look at # watchers to see how popular it is.
