I think something very weird happened with this drama. We have no idea why a lot of things happen in the last eps.…
her past already changed since Mei Zhuyu had returned, so she recovered
I'm not done watching so I don't know. I still have 2 ep. left. the ml will die in ep38 right? but he didn't actually die, he was in a coma, but it can be an open ending whenever you do endings like that, subject to interpretation
He cannot really interact with his father in the past, can he?
Apparently, the father was the former cat lord with is why their fate and destiny are intertwined, why his master knew that he cannot stay in the sect forever, that he still has unfinished business in Chang'an, that was foreshadowing.
Mei Zhuyu should have been the Cat Lord but on that night, he was missing fell into the river? so the former Cat Lord found her and passed on Cat Lord to her, and seal Evil infant inside her.
梅竹雨 (Mei Zhuyu). 梅 (Plum): Blooms in winter, defying the cold — a symbol of perseverance and quiet elegance. 逐 to pursue, to chase, to expel or to drive out. 雨 (Rain): Softens the world, washes away dust — a metaphor for emotional depth, renewal, or even nostalgia.
Why did he even need to say this, " Zhu Yu, you must remember that you cannot change cause and effect or change life and death." Isn't that a given, I mean he cannot do this even if he tried.
wow that was fast, she left and he had already returned, that's why she was cured, they showed her waking up as Cat Lord then she left, and they show Mei Zhuyu had long returned and recovering. So, at that point, he must have already changed fate with Wu Zhen. Wow they really cut out a lot of scenes about how it all happened. the sect kept it from her what he did.
I'm still watching but what exactly does the second couple have to do with the main plot?
I supposed with snake demon was overcome by sulfur she was too weak to use her powers to vanish from the carriage. later she 's able to go out and about, but what about the sulfur. maybe it's later after it dissipated?
Yayy!!! Moonlit Reunion's marketshare increased from 14.5% to 15.5% after the express package was released 👏🏻🥳💕The…
Market share percentages are tricky because they depend entirely on the landscape. They’re relative, not absolute—reflecting not just how well a show performs on its own, but how it stacks up against everything else airing at the same time.
Assuming This Thriving Land (TTL) peaked at 46% while Moonlit Reunion (MR) held 10%, if TTL is not in the landscape and 20% of its audience watched MR while 5% shifted to other dramas, MR’s market share would rise from 10% to 29.3%.
Alternatively, if TTL declined to 18.5% and MR rose to 15.5%, then 20% of TTL’s lost audience likely shifted to MR—assuming no impact to other dramas, for simplicity.
And because TTL commanded such a massive audience at its peak, even an additional 10% shift from TTL to MR represents a significant movement in the ratings landscape. Small percentages from a dominant player can translate into big gains for others.
mei zhuyu posture is so impeccable, every time he is in the frame, I'm just in awe of it. seems like mei zhuyu is more personable, charming, and smiles more, but that's how the novel went too, later on, his personality did change, he was warmer, more approachable and socialized more, after marriage, but alone with wu zhen, he was especially that way once he got over his shyness. I can't get enough of close ups of mei zhuyu because the face is so expressive up close, no gestures, just simply expressive.
Liu Taizen has a very nice posture too. Whenever the camera pans to her, she's so tall and elegant. I think it's because she is so tall. Tall slender people with nice figures just look good.
oh didn't they switch it. I thought in the novel, wu zhen fell off a cliff when she was a little girl, so they gave that storyline to snake demon. so that's why snake demon is fully demon and has a human father. but wu zhen is half human and half demon because she didn't actually die I dn't think, she was near death when former cat lord revive her with his demon core or whatever it is that he transferred to her body. with snake demon, Tai had actually died when snake demon took over her body. but I thought int he novel, wu zhen fell off a cliff and actually died, i remmber she said she did die. novel and drama mixed it up, it's okay, it's just different storytelling, all fantasy anyway. just roll with it.
the snake blaming others for not ascending into a dragon, it's all their fault. what kind of tribulation when struck by lightning he is all smiles? that's not how it went in ALP, it was bloody. what does snake's ascension have anything to do with the story?
gosh one word can make a difference in meaning. earlier the translation was "her calamity," not it's "her tribulation." wu zhen that is.
xu kai's face is just pure handsomeness, divine handsomeness, his face and body was made for leading man in romance dramas, he looks so noble, like a prince.
MDL is not the only rating. Moonlit Reunion received an above average Douban of 6.6. so, I'll take that one instead.…
well seeing how some other drama got 8.6 that is not any better, I'll give this 8.6 too if you are serious about checking out the drama, try sampling a few scenes randomly.
In ep34, and the ML is disappointing me. He started off as one of the greenest flag MLs, but after their marriage…
I think you’re taking that scene out of context. Mei Zhuyu wasn’t actually trying to hurt the assistant—he was desperate to get Wu Zhen to talk to him and explain why she was leaving. It’s a dramatic moment, but not the same as Shu’s behavior. The assistant wasn’t harmed, and the scene was meant to show emotional tension, not cruelty. The show overall is lighthearted and whimsical, with humor layered over serious themes—so reading it as purely dark misses the tone completely.
