Touching ending though I really disliked the negative twist before it and it was fairly predictable and mediocre also on a general level why does k drama use 30 year olds as hi school students、they are not fooling us、 surely there are young actors to debut?
this drama I began to lose interest around episode 12、 like many k dramas for some reason they must go on for 16 episodes and this went beyond its natural boundaries as a youth drama I think。 the later episodes are interesting showing how relationships change from youth to adults but there was enough material to put them in a sequel I think 、also to show the changes they contrive this by bringing in side stories that add nothing but unconvincing melodrama [I can not detail without spoilers with respect other commenters here also should really not put in details spoiling it for other viewers] still this does not detract from this being a good drama as a whole
I do not understand why this drama suddenly goes off on the corporal punishment theme it seems strangely out of place in the context of the rest of this drama、 interesting and they make a good point about stopping abusive teachers but if they want to do this they should get their facts right。 Koreans were well known for physical punishment of students and I checked and corporal punishment was not banned in S Korea until 2010 so the time this story takes place it was legal and they are misleading、though beating a boy round the head so he bleeds is surely not lawful anyway、but anyway a few spanks on the backside over pants I do not see as specially abusive、 the humiliation teachers use in Japan is worse
a side issue、 but Idk you never see these gorgeous pretty persons who just happen to be genius surgeons as well in a real hospital I can tell you、 if it were true no one would get any work done they would be too busy ogling
Interesting movie of its type、 the 80s Korea small town life seemed genuine。 I really did not recognize Lee Jong Suk from School 2013 until I saw the credits: cute then。as for the ending、 it was nice but、 a large leap in credibility in 5 minutes of film from all that went before。
I am always in split mind about ”inspirational” dramas with characters fighting through the toughest situations poverty personal limitations envy of people and so on to reach the top and also usually finding the love of their life if only this were real life and not fiction I also wonder if I can work through the usual 16 long episodes of k drama this is coming of age teen drama not school drama as I thought but、 this is well produced drama with engaging characters and original theme of fencing competition and rivalry; the mix of professional action and romance and also including interesting stories of sub plots is well balanced; so for all my doubts I find this passes the test of drawing me in enough to want to see an episode every day
I am amazed at the number of people complaining of boredom if they watch a drama with 45 episodes about a 33X time loop :anyone repeating 13 minutes of their life 45 times watching 45 episodes about a time loop is in a time loop of their own、 they just don't realize it
also on a general level why does k drama use 30 year olds as hi school students、they are not fooling us、 surely there are young actors to debut?

constant pop idol interpolations are overdone and become tiresome
cute characters though、 not bad in all
