I love how each Sim 4 You reflects each member's individuality. in this season, we did not only get to see/listen to Chen's high quality live vocals, but the whole show was like an unfiltered behind the scenes of Chen's healing journey of music.

I loved seeing Chen meet new people, make new connections, learn about music and eat delicious food~ I'd love it if he goes on more adventures like that, even if they don't film it ;P

Ko Young Bae was my favorite guest, he made Chen loosen up and feel more comfortable teasing the remaining guests, plus he is a super talented vocalist and I wish they release a duet together soon, also he is a natural "variety show" star xD

this was a total scam! iu is not a main! she only lasted the 1st ten mins, but dang her story was so much better than the whole movie ;(
I can't even say this was "exotic" cuz it was a film, it was just the ml talking to a bunch of random people.... I get the deep meaning of it but sometimes showing by action is so much better than spelling everything out with words, like if they showed us each character's story without any talking it'd have been so much more rich

on the other hand, not only was IU amazing! lol her story surprised me, but the thing she talked about, marrying the guy after 2 months, him dying early, that'd have been so much more engaging.

since this is 4 stand alone stories in 2parter I'll combine the review for each one here. long story short I loved 23 and 29's stories and I hated 35 and 42's stories

aw ok, so this is not a "sismance/female centered plot"

the 23
I loved this one, it's like the writing of a webdrama with a drama special's quality.
the relationships and the emotions were really realistic, and it really captured my attention though if I knew the whole thing was going to be resolved in 1:40 hours I'd have started it later cuz the pacing was really great and full of info
also this is a great example of "age appropriate" casting, I wish they'd stop forcing 20 year olds with 30 year olds and just give us more "college" dramas.

in some ways, the fl got scared with her "one" true love so she used the other guys to fill in the void, and in the process she belittled the guys to make herself feel like she's not wrong (otherwise she'd feel guilty and is forced to admit the truth)

and once it got out of hand (ie she was discovered) she again blamed the guys for "using" her becasue that'd make it easier for her to leave them too.
but I'm glad she didn't switch to her friend right away, both needed a little time and she needed to accept her feelings for him and take a risk ;)

the 29:
I also loved this one, in some ways it was about a really "quiet" go with the flow character that suddenly reached her breaking point and needed to escape from everything and with that she became her most honest self, she finally stopped trying to not cause problems in what looks perfect on the outside.

the relationship with her mother was the real problem, she was burdened with the fact that her mom was young and alone that she took the responsibility to "raise" her mother and that resulted in over attachment that when her mom wanted to live her life, the fl felt lost and scared.

the 42: *spoilers*
I reeeaallly didn't like it, it's like those movies where the kids accidentally hit someone and they think he's dead so they bury him but it turns out they killed him while trying to cover up?
so basically the fl thinks her husband is cheating so she starts doubting him and their "happy" marriage that she snaps and jumps to conclusions without asking her husband or listening to him. and the husband never really tried to convince her so in the end she goes to cheat back with the husband of the woman she thought her husband cheated with and worse they let her cheat when her dad died so it's just another reason to make the fl look like garbage...
and honestly that writer throwing in hints that her husband might be cheating. like why are people so sick to want to ruin a happy marriage ;/

the 35:
I couldn't get past the 1st part, it was boring and 1d without any real worth or plot ;/

the worst thing about this is the lack of consistency. s1 and s2 are just one complete 12ep drama that had a whole year between them.

with the way things ended here, the possibilities of a 3rd season is high, but the cliffhanger wasn't as abrupt as s1.

instead of getting any character growth that comes with a seasoned drama, we just had "events" surrounding those characters, they didn't have much base, they were just there for the sake of the plot..

instead of rewatch value we need character depth/development becasue I don't want to reduce the acting mark, but I do think the characters were lacking.
for example, Seo Bi felt miscast or just badly written. she felt too timid, too juvenile, too unfit for a mature strong 40 year old that was also incredibly smart. it came in some of her mannerism, she'd suddenly be too quite in certain occasions as if the writers didn't want her to "steal" the thunder.
Lee Chang was yet another cold/calm/strong prince people followed, and he kinda lacked a bit of humanity? emotions?
they spent so much time building up the queen, and suddenly it was all for nothing.. honestly, what good would another woman's son becoming king do for her? she said "if I can't have it then no one can", but jokes on her, every main character survived, and the son she stole became a king while she died. I kinda thought that would be her at the end but I was disappointed..

I could go actually complain more about the characters, but I'd still watch s3 even if it's just for Lee Chang's bearded look ;p

and honestly, this was like a chain of unfortunate events and battle scenes, so I don't think a rewatch would be necessary..

A cliche that did well

this felt like the writer opened the "big book of cliche" every writer has and tried to color outside the lines

this was more than "who the ml is", that was never a question, it was just the fans' desire. the true value of this was the metaphor of love. love is a feeling, a relationship needs work

jojo had feelings for sunho but she got too scared, it was overwhelming for her so she ran away, the moment she got the shield her heart felt safe, people didn't have the upper hand on her, they couldn't judge her for her feelings. sunho was burdensome for her

I feel like that's how I usually see the typical "rich guy, poor sad lonely girl" dynamic. sunho was too dominate, he always screamed and demanded attention. he went head 1st without looking at the people around him. he kissed jojo when he knew his best friend liked her, he kissed jojo again when he knew she was dating his ex friend, and he never did that to show his affection, he wanted to see how she'd react

Hye Young was at times too supportive that it was a burden of it's own. he was almost nearing a doormat level, but he also took a step back when he got hurt, and he went after her again becasue he wanted to even when she told him to wait. and I think that balanced him out

to the shallow bitter people, even though sunho wasn't a 1st main, he still had his own love line and I'm happy for that, usually 2nd leads are mistreated..

sunho lost his love become he was too aggressive and he lost his friend becasue he never looked at them, he also lost the only (figuratively) girl that liked him even though he mistreated her too, but I'm so glad he learned that love isn't just a burst of feeling.
love is working for a compromise, love is waiting and understanding, love isn't at 1st sight, love doesn't stay if it's not taken care of.

I'm so sure jojo and sunho would've had a worse ending if they stayed together, he always wanted her attention he didn't try to pay attention to her. she was just something he wanted that was taken away from him...
I also didn't like all the tragic pasts and the parents, but as I said it was as if the writer was working from a book of cliches, that's why s1 sucked xD

anyway I liked this more than the 1st season and I think by now we should learn, kdramas will never stray away from the 1st ml, and Hye Young is the 1st ml

I also liked the length, the ost and the aesthetics. I didn't mind the ep length when the "dragginess" was to show us pretty scenes.

watch until 01:39:00 ONLY!

the poster was misleading, I thought I'd see han jiwan with the precious baby but she was the adult vr ;)
basically the first half, the first hour and a half was beautiful, Park So Yi was SO AMAZING! her crying was on point and her smiles lit up the world!

the story between this unlikely "family" was cliche but so touching that I just loved watching them until suddenly she became a teen then an adult and boom the story lost it's charm ;(

suddenly right after she called him dad the writer made him get into an accident and they lost him for 10 YEARS! then one day she remembers the nickname she gave him (10 years later!) and that's how they found him! sick and locked up in a mental hospital where he couldn't function! and before his accident suddenly had a terminal disease! what ridiculous blood boiling plot move!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then in the ending credit she was getting married and had him marry her off and called it a happy ending when he didn't even REMEMBER his name let alone talk! how heart breakingly cheap!!!!!!!!!!!

I did hope it'd be sweet and funny for a rewatch but no, just no

I think the lacking part of this was that they over complicated the "relationship" chart... but on the other hand it might've been easier to have one big "evil" company and gather everything in TL rather than having several difference companies which would result in more "bad guys" and also more people to "catch"..

I really hope this shed light on those cases, or any work related crime... it was incredibly heartbreaking for me to see this... and most of the victims were kids or people in their 20s and seeing their parents fight for justice just so their child's death isn't ruled as their own "fault" is too heartbreaking...

now on a drama's point of view, it was wrapped up in a good balance of "solving" the crimes while also leaving a small hint of "everything can't be solved so easily"...
and this was my fault for not focusing when and how it happened, but I appreciate the change in the typical typecastness of the "evil" ones..

my rewatch values are a 1 or 10, but for some reason I'd want to give another shot, though I feel like it'd be too heartbreaking...

I never watch "daily" dramas, so I don't have much to compare, but this is the only (maybe best) family drama I'll ever watch... their bonds and yuri were the only reasons I watched this...

it's funny that even-though I never watched this type of dramas, everything in this is a big cliche..
- mean rich naggy mother in law? check
- mean rich dad and the runaway son? check
- misunderstandings? triple check
- birth secrets? check
- fake incest? long check that it got super awkward
- fake identity? check
- secrets? a million check
- useless uncle and his side family? check
- bad blood between the in laws? check
- jobless older brother that's studying? check
- bullied younger sister? check
- shallow maknae sister? check
- sickness?
there's more, I mean this is a 50+ drama ;)

Mi Yeong and Joong Hee were the cheap "star crossed lovers", the "we can't even admit our feelings for blah blah reasons"... I can't believe it took them 40 eps to reveal that.. and then everyone was ok with it as if it never happened, ie a cheap move to keep them apart and cause conflict.. they were cute enough, that move was unnecessary...

my rewatch values are either a 1 or 10...

I feel like, for my taste, I'd have preferred a more "38 task force" approach, the "con artists coning rich people for the greater good".. it did have some of that, but it was still too focused on the election/assemblyman thing.. it's kinda like the fiery priest and chief kim, it has great comedy with a cute (uncle?) bromance but the overall "big picture" plot was not my style..
I loved the "villain" here though, she's one of my favorites, she was so fresh (and cute), part of me wanted the 3 of them to work together, but that's just because I love the actors ;p Siwon and Min Jung NEED to do a drama where they are both "1st" leads/a romcom couple ;p

things I liked:
+ siwon
+ siwon's smiles and dimples
+ min jung's adorable facial expressions
+ crazy hulk Mi Young
+ that "jingle"
+ the comedy
+ the overall pace was really great, the weekly dose and the whole journey felt "satisfying"
+ cute couple
things I didn't like:
- the random crush 2nd guy had ;/ I am seriously over brother zoned 2nd leads with a secret crush or (hate in TSLOMS's case)
- my two srs girls (cop girl/con girl) deserved better.. usually if the fl is not the "airheaded sweet type" then they'll add random female characters to fill that part.. but these 2 were different and fresh.
- it needed 40 eps. things were really rushed at the end..
- political plot ;p
- for me the marriage and their issues were "inconsistent"
- needed a better "teamance"

ps: I never rewatch dramas, so it's either a 1 or a 10 ;)

while watching this I thought this was like Saw mixed with The Liar Games. maybe even a little Matrix and The 100, ooh also The Hunger Games.. now I'm not made for this kind of shows, I'm sensitive and I have a soft heart but I appreciate the change (and I just needed to close my eyes a few times, though I still saw stufffff...)

so the story wasn't that high quality, even some of the game "twists" weren't that shocking. they did pull a little at my emotions, especially the screams in agony, but still storywise it wasn't that great.

I used to be a fan of Saw (ik shocking) but then as I grew up I was like the heck did I watch as a kid, I watched like 7 of them? and I'd always cry too, like they just needed to work together! also recently with The 100, I watched 4 seasons until I thought why am I watching this!
I'm a scaredy cat and I hate violence, so I think they could've lived without all that gore and blood, atleast that burned eyes wasn't necessary...
on the other hand the hunger games was a dystopian future were people naturally lived in a "game of death", so like here what was their story?

it's like, I actually don't remember much from the matrix but what was behind it? a person? an alien? an evil organization? here too, yes we saw that lady at the end, but WHAT'S THE STORY. are they real people? are they a game but don't know it? do they die if they get killed in the game? is the game just a mental game like the matrix? did people from Tokyo go missing or are the people in the game the one's who got "kidnapped" and do the people outside the game know? are they living their lives not knowing anything? do they think the people in the game were just missing cases or deaths no one cared to investigate? come on, there was no answers....

Should’ve left the writing to the professionals, the webtoon writers

It’s about time drama writers stop trying to modify webtoons. There’s a reason the creative community chose the wentoon, they released a story, a style of writing and it was embraced and accepted
Some things do need to be modified for the entertainment value of moving picture but the process, the development and the moral of the story should’ve been kept the same

I read a bit about how the ending was executed in the webtoon and it made more sense

Here their biggest downfall in both seasons was lack of coherent development
Everything conveniently went downhill, they just happen to run in different directions, they just happened to have missed the signs
But I was fine until they went berserk with the changes and many things changed
Again the changes from the 1st half made sense for the impact but the development lost all their handwork

I get the exam guy going nuts, kids are emotionally unstable
He was bullied, looked down on, didn’t have the luxury of a steady home that he carried the burden of the future, he was alone and snapped

The way he snapped wasn’t done well, I thought he killed the cool kid, tbh that should’ve been his breaking point
And maybe he’d have seen the kids seeing the video at their final destination and so he lost his shit , sure when he went back he thought old looking girl was telling them everything and yes the one he 1st killed was his bully…
That’s what it goes back to, the bullies became cool, dependable and charming. Even bora. Soon they all bonded. Especially the way they were forgiven for lying
But for nerd guy, he was just alone alone alone

Now, the pre bully murder tbh was too disgusting and pointless. Sure he was upset old girl looked down on him but he didn’t have to assault her. This way, he wasn’t bullied into breaking point, he is not the victim, but everyone was right about him and he was a creep
10years in and he wouldn’t have become a dr or any type of office worker. He’d have become one of those creepy coworkers who’d end up in jail cuz he kept making moves on the female employees and ends up assaulting her….

In the other hand they made aesol kill him as a way of “she was the real type of outsa” and he was just a creep that was outcasted

Anyway what hurt the most was realizing the teacher, the team leader and some of the earliest kids(?) didn’t die, I’m not sure about the ending tho I did read it went with less casualties
So basically the old sacrifices went down the drain, and many died in the name of “a few weeks later they discovered a better weapon” so the kids didn’t have to become soldiers, they weren’t supposed to be sacrificed by the adults to just gain time.. and the adults + others just lived happily ever after? Well all wars are like that I guess….

But I feel like the enemy should’ve been the adults, the higher ranked soldiers and wobin for leaving the kids unattended, that guy deserved to die, team leader sacrificed for the kids and he just went back to base??
Basically they went Mist on us, it “didn’t have to go that way, if only they waited” I hate that as much as I hate the “it was all a dream”
Anyway I thought geek guy led the aliens to the kids, so the shock was ok but again the steps, the results… I cried more when they were all putting on makeup and laughing, kids should be pure, bullying is the main source of the trauma….

uneventful but cute

the story was about 2 people in same yet different struggles, Woo Ram lost his mentor so he lost his hold on his dream, Hyun Ji as a normal graduate was trying to fight against the other candidates to get a job

and in that moment they met, awkwardly yet naturally interacted, he kept going to her workplace and she kept looking forward to his visits and with that love bloomed

I think both did a great job with their characters, they were both soft and careful, as a girl with only a father and as a maknae in a 5 child house hold they both just naturally felt timid

now though if they gave them more depth and time to develop the romance I think Hyun Ji would've shown a cute cheeky side and soon Woo Ram would've lightened up and they'd have had more potential at a sweet romance

now the drawback was the unevenfulness. nothing much happened and soon they were super comfortable with each other and that lost their biggest asset which was the sweetness and the youthfulness of the 2 mains.
the struggles were shallow and the sadness was fleeting but overall for a 1 hour 40min it was a nice breezy watch

this reminds me of a US show lovelife(?), both basically follow the love life of the main lead and the lessons/events revolving around a normal person's choices.

the 1st guy was kinda the "dream" guy, they met by chance/fate, he was sweet and simple but for young aya he was too grounding and unfit for her luxuries life dreams. (and at the end she regrets it, but on the other hand he really did want the simple lifestyle, which was only her dream after people pressured her, so if they stayed together they'd have probably fought alot and hated each other)
the 2nd guy was exactly what she wanted but HE was too "ambitious" for HER, so he left her
the 3rd guy was the guy she needed to fulfill her luxury living lifestyle until it felt empty
the 4th guy was the result of people's expectations and their definition of a woman's happiness "of a 30+ year old woman to get married and have kids" and it was too much of a burden
the 5th guy was a boost for her ego, a 40 year old divorcee was still "wanted" by someone but he was too young and free spirited so he left her for money
and the 6th guy was her "the one" who actually turned out to be her long time friend! (I'm sorry I'm bad with faces) but he was really a great not unexpected match for her. he was intuitive and since he had a lot of platonic girl friends he was the ideal modern guy for the independent 21st century career woman, he understood their worries and goals ;D

sadly this was too short, and it took me a while to get used to the characters talking to the camera, and (a shallow part of me shall say) the guys were unattractive, but it was a really sweet underrated unexpected gem❤

I never rewatch stuff but I want another drama like this ;(

it was just a love diamond + a million subplots

I'll start with the good points;
+ Xie Xiang was a great female lead, one of the best, she was smart, cool, caring, independent and strong

+ Gu Yan Zhen was playful and a playboy but a total sweetheart, I mean he literally fell for her in the first few eps

+ the cross dressing was done well

+ Xie Xiang and Xiao Jun's sismance was adorable

+ Man Ting and Yan Zhen also had great friendship

+ the friendship between Huang Song and both Yan Zhen and Xie Xiang was sweet, the whole gang were a great team

+ the outfits and filmography was beautiful

+ those 2eps Xie Xiang saved herself/others (plus the ending)

+ the chemistry between Xie Xiang and Yan Zhen was off the charts~

now the things I hated
- the million of subplots! every other ep had a new unrelated story, I was losing my mind

- in the early eps Xie Xiang always had to be saved (though granted they were being realistic since she was physically weak and tiny)

- they literally wasted the romance ;/ I would've gotten it if they didn't want romance to be the focus, but they literally spent 40eps developing a main lead x 2nd lead love line ;/

- they ruined Man Ting and Yan Zhen's pure sibling like relationship when they added a sad pathetic 1 sided love..

- they made me really angry when even Huang Song fell for "the sister" and she literally went out with him as a girl and never tried to turn him down (and I wished she'd told him everything from the start and stayed as pure friends)

- the 2nd lead was slightly obsessive. he changed Xie Xiang's room without asking and he'd tell her "I won't take no for an answer" as if he owned her ;/

- they spent more time on the side characters than on the main, heck the evil girl had more screentime

- the evil girl felt unrealistic, she was young and weak, there's no way the bad guys would've given her that much authority

- Huang Song's death was unnecessary. he should've died with a bullet to the head or they shouldn't have left him to get shot 5 times

- the forgetful girl. agh I hated her the most..

- there was no consistency, it felt like the writer had 1 plot move "girl cross dresses and goes to a military school" and then she just added whatever that came to her.

- the romance took 40eps and 2seconds for them to confess and then it ended with them "walking" along towards the sunset... that was it. after such a long chase and misunderstandings, that was it......

- I was ready to give this a 10, but I didn't know it'd be that messy and draggy. I'll never watch another cdrama,

- the ahahahahahah ost drove me crazy!

I wish someone just made a cut of the 2 main leads, especially when they were together, that'd have saved me 30eps ;D

there are few dramas I rewatch, and even fewer dramas, but this is a beautiful story that gets better with every rewatch. I could watch 1 ep per day, 1 ep a week, or just watch this drama all day long, it's just so beautiful..

if I had to choose 3 dramas that can kinda reflect on my drama preferences, then this drama would be num1. it has everything I look enjoy in any type of show;
1- strong independent smart yet soft and awkward female lead
2- clean cut cold dark traumatized male lead that is naive and clueless
3- a beautiful elegant smart fashionable business woman
4- a brutal messy killer with a sad life/story
5- a ragged disheveled playboy that loves "beauty" and hates hard work
and many many more layered and interesting side characters all intertwined in a beautiful story about protecting a country.
if I were to describe the guys' reaction to Ae Sin's life choices I'd say;
Hui Seong wanted to be a shadow Ae Sin could hide in
Dong Mae wanted to tie her down/stop her from doing anything that put her in harms way
and Eugene wanted to walk by her side.

I'm currently rewatching it so I'll fix this review later ;p
