Woooo! What a movie. Choi Min Shik and Lee Byung Hun were outstanding! Choi as the psycho killer, totally devoid of emotion. And Lee as the grief stricken, secret agent, oh my! You can tell he’s barely keeping it together and his mission is the only thing keeping him going. The ending was cold! And when you watch it you’ll see what I’m saying when I say, I see the devil in Lee’s character. And that’s one of the reasons this was such a great movie. The unexpected journey we went on as we saw Soo-hyung getting his revenge was so subtle and well acted that it wasn’t until the final scene that I realized how broken he was. His fiancés death destroyed him completely. And the ending song that played as the credits began rolling just totally swept me away, it didn’t matter that Lee’s face was no longer on the screen, the music played out his sorrow for him.

I never expected that it would turn into a cat and mouse game but since that was so unexpected, I loved the movie even more. I’ve never seen a revenge film take that approach before. Following the killer around I felt engrossed, waiting to see what would happen next and I never felt bored as there were many twists to keep me entertained.

It was a little gorey but nothing in the gore porn film genre, like it’s not a Saw movie. It was just enough to fascinate and disgust me simultaneously. You saw how psychotic the killer was so it was satisfying watching him suffer. Which I think is the mark of not only a good actor playing his role to perfection but a well told story, that I’m rooting for pain.

I'm truly sad to see such a drama have only an 8.4 in rating. From the beginning I was in love with the idea of a prosecution team fighting for the rights of the sexually abused. In the first case we saw something unprecedented on TV especially in Korea, I imagine, a man that was sexually harassed. I was stunned at the social conscious of this show and felt excited to see where they'd go next. I was not disappointed. They interwove new sexual harassment/abuse cases with the overall plot of catching Jo Gap Soon effortlessly. For a few episodes we focused on a call girl who was killed and her murder was pinned on the wrong man, to me, that was the strongest section of the show.

The writing has been impeccable and believable,  literally keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens. Every time I turn on the show, I can feel my body tense up in anticipation. I feel like I've learned a lot about what it takes to be a prosecutor when before I just thought they worked for the defense, oh no! they are like detectives! I had no idea. Ma Yi Deum is goals! She is so tough and fearless, Jung Ryeo Won did a FANTASTIC! job. I was drawn to the show based on the premise but also because  I had just finished Tunnel and loved Yoon Hyun Min in it. He was just as good here, I can't wait to see where he'll go next.

Ma Yi Deum's tenacity to catch Jo Gap and make him pay for what he did to her mom was inspiring and  Jung Ryeo Won did an amazing job acting as both the heartbroken woman who missed her mom and the motivated prosecutor who would do whatever it took to bring him down. We saw how bad that determination can be and how it can be dangerous to those around her, which I think was a realistic point to make that they could've easily overlooked but added a lot of depth because they didn't.

I didn't expect to like this show so much but am grateful to have been surprised. Give this a chance if you haven't watched it.

Korean John Wick.

Such a good movie. Action was top notch. I liked how they didn’t show you in the beginning how kickass he was, really drew out the anticipation of seeing him fight. This movie was so dark! Don’t watch if you don’t want to be reminded of what a crappy world we live in and how it’s filled with so many crappy people. But I can appreciate it’s realism. I can appreciate the gore. In both those aspects, the movie really wants to captivate you.

The MC can act! Apparently he’s an all star actor but since I’m newer to kdrama, I hadn’t seen him in anything yet. I’m definitely going to search for his other work. They touched on his past and his character just enough to help you understand where he’s coming from and why this girl matters ????

The pacing was well done, no lulls. I don’t like slow paced stuff, I frequently get up and take breaks. Didn’t pause this movie once though ????

Oh! And the closing theme song was so beautiful!

Ended on a strong message that we cannot close our eyes and cover our eyes to the damage we are causing to our planet. That if we care about our children's future, we must face down fear of the unknown with hope and dedication.

The movie was really well done. Great cast and special effects. The storyline was crafted together well. Power plant meltdowns are not easy to explain to the general public but I thought they did a good job without making me feel bored.

I took a class on how government in the U.S. operates during natural disasters and I couldn't help but think about all the ways the government in this movie went wrong. It was an interesting thought experiment that added to the overall depth of the film. I feel like something was lacking in the film that is keeping me from running out to the store to buy it. I think the characters weren't fleshed out enough. If they had spent just a little more time on developing them and their relationships, I think the movie would've been a smash hit.

But I definitely recommend  watching it. My heart was racing the whole time which is truly the mark of a great thriller.

I feel like this is underrated. It's funny, it's incredibly well acted. The storyline doesn't lag. The CGI is actually really good considering when it was made. The character development is there. I didn't think i'd like it so I'm surprised to be writing this saying I liked it more than the movie Tunnel, which I watched right before this. I'd say if all that I said appeals to you, then you'd probably like it and go check it out. A monster movie isn't normally my deal but I like post-apolocyptics and that's why i turned this on.  I felt like it delivered.

A visually stunning movie whose music and actors swept me away the instant I turned it on. The characters are so well thoughtout, each depicting a side to vampirism. Through their whirlwind love I'm still left rooting for them even in the end. An erotic love story, Thirst, was wonderfully entertaining and well worth the time.

Japanese and Korean cinema always seems more poignant than other culture's media. They tell their stories so beautifully, If Cats Disappeared From the World is no exception. Seeing the main character come around to value the things in our world was slower than I would've wished but also well paced. It would be hard in real like to accept the bad card your dealt. Prepare to cry, btw.

A really all around great show. Great! acting, especially Sin Wan, that actor played crazy so well. Top notch actors here. Great story, camera, and production quality. Very well written show, I thought it was a tad too long and they could've shortened it a little. But it's meant to be a crime drama so seeing as how many cases were solved, I guess the length isn't unusual. The music was killler, best OST! You want a crime drama, this is it. You won't be disappointed. I gave it a 9 because, like I said, I wish the story was just a little shorter and sometimes, I just couldn't buy the plot they were selling, some things just don't happen like the show portrays. It's too unreasonable for me to believe. But those were really small things like believing Soo Ji was free during some scenes, etc.

Overall an excellent show with great music. Story lagged at times and I thought they did one thing too many but it's easy to over look. I didnt expect it to be so funny. The romance is great, both couples. I find myself thinking about them from time to time and reminiscing about how much I enjoyed them being together. The acting is phenomenal. I love the leads so much. Looking forward to watching more of them elsewhere.

Very thoughtful depiction of a variety of couples. the writing really gets you to appreciate all the aspects of a relationship, even the bad ones. Thoughtful is a perfect depiction. And I was very happy to see a sensitive portrayal of a gay couple they addressed the societal issues that come with those and the other relationships in a beautiful, thought provoking way. As if that wasn't enough, it was a freaking hilarious show. I loved it so much, I thought about rewatching it when I was done and am considering buying it.

I really liked the show. I think it deserves an 8 but I gave it an 8.5 because of the following:
-The romance was great. Who she ended up with, they were soooo cute together. The guy especially, I loved how he played his character. He is so cute when he's in love.
-I liked the dark, detective story. The criminal played his role well, he was so creepy.
-The comedy was great most of the time
-the bromance! Ah! So good!
-Music perfectly fit the show
-the acting was of course excellent

What I didn't like though that really brought down the score I gave:
-It tried to be too many things. If the show had stuck to one aspect like the comedy and bong soon trying to come to terms with her powers, I think it would've been better. I know why they had to have the criminal storyline but it was so contrastingly dark, it was jarring sometimes. I felt like the best parts about the show was the comedy and the bromance but They didn't touch on those as much. they should've come up with a different storyline to get her comfortable with her powers.
-I REALLY disliked two of the characters. That lead gangsters who was hospitalized forever in a body cast and the project team leader, omg, they were both sooo annoying. I didn't think they were funny at all. It really detracted from the show. They were both so useless and their characters were so over the top. No not good.

I still recommend people watch it. The beginnng was really strong. Towards the middle it got more involved in the crime genre. Each were good stories, i just thought it was too much together. It was overall, a really funny show and the romance was so cute! I just loved them. And seeing Bong Soon grow up and into her powers, seeing her believe in herself, it was a nice thing to watch.
