I honestly don't understand the rave behind this serie. Sure the kissing scenes are great and they have great chemistry but when did they start to like each other? It just came out of nowhere. Im sorry to say but im not buying their love story. Like where was the build up? I get it that its only 10 episodes and the novel has like 100 or 200 chapters but .....some sort of transition between hate to love would be nice to see. Another thing that was annoying is that supposedly Lee Chaeha is an ex-cop but thats not believable at all? How can an ex-cop be stabbed TWICE! I can also accept that BL series in Korea doesnt have the same budget as a ''regular'' kdrama but AI really cheapens the quality, just looking at the intro threw me off. I know AI is rampant but just NO.
the second lead is seriously pissing me off with his attitude against Ji Yul. I hate possive second leads, like bro you're just her FRIEND. For being a 30 min 12 episode drama, its really hard to finish...
Im currently stuck at episode 10. I fastforwaded a lot of scenes, which is quite rare for me and says a lot about this drama. Having mixed feelings about it.This kdrama could've been soo much better. I've read the webtoon (not completed it yet since im waiting for translation). The webtoon was very fun and good! the drama? I don't know how it turned out to be soo boring? I'm disappointed.
I don't know if it's Jang Ki Yongs way of acting or if its the way the ML written but I dont feel any emotions from him? Very cardboardy if that makes sense? For being alive for almost 1000 years, he has zero personality. Very boring. Felt no chemistry between the leads either and I can't even pinpoint when they started to like each other...? But maybe thats just me..
Also, this drama suffers from being too long. Not every drama needs to be 16 episodes long. 10 episodes would've been perfect. It got draggy and repetitive too fast and the drama has no sense of direction. And the second lead.. boy.. too cliche... it's the typical 'wow a girl just turned me down? but im handsome and rich? this can't be!!! let me chase her!!!'' LOL. But that actor is good at potraying his character and making him feel alive. .. so I'll give him a pass.
What I do like with this drama is actually Lee Dam's friendship with Jae Jin! It's not very often that kdramas portray a platonic friendship between opposite sex.
