It is confirmed not 46 episodes anymore if you see the screenshot in the twitter post and the link at weibo, it stated that new license has been issued for Wonderland of Love as a single drama changing from 22 episodes to 40 episodes. They updated the license for the 1st season (22 episodes) and changed it to 40 episodes, and cancelled the 2nd season license. There is no "if it's really only 46 episodes", this is latest record announcement from the censorhip board approval. They already cut those 6 episodes or distribute it, either way the drama is confirmed to have 1 season only with 40 episodes.

It's not rumors, they already resubmitted the combined of two seasons because the new rules indicate 2nd season can only air after 1 year min, so they combined the previously approved 2 separates seasons into one solid 40 episodes drama and has gotten the certificate for the combined version.
