Two kids meet near a floodgate after school. Yu is a shy 17 year old girl who sits down next to Yosuke as he plays his guitar. Yosuke recently gave up playing sports and has devoted himself to playing the guitar. He only plays a few lines over and over, as he tries to make a song from what he feels. Their relationship progresses tentatively as they both have difficulty in expressing their feelings and thoughts. One day Yu takes the initiative and kisses Yosuke. Yosuke responds by picking up his guitar and going home. Years later Yu wonders, "Why did I cry? Why didn't I stop crying? Why?"..while Yosuke wonders "Why did I run away from you that time?" Fast forward seventeen years later. They haven’t seen each since their days in high school and now have moved on with their separate and empty lives. That is until one day they randomly meet during an audition. They agree to go out together after work for drinks. As the evening turns into the early morning, they are still awake sharing memories of their high school days. After 17 years Yosuke finally kisses Yu. Yu starts to cry again and they soon go to visit her older sister. The next day Yosuke decides to call Yu and make good on a promise he made to her 17 years ago, that is he would play her his song when it is completed. Yu agrees to meet him again and Yosuke goes home to get his acoustic guitar. While on his way to meet Yu, fate deals a strange twist to their plans, perhaps this will be the moment where they can finally say “Sukida.”

Sae is a high school student who is studying hard for her college entrance exams. She lost her father when she was very young and so lives her mother Ryoko in Hokkaido, Japan. Her father Kemimichi once planted a dogwood tree in their garden after he found out he had a terminal disease and could not watch Sae grow up. She hopes to enter a university in Tokyo.
She then meets Kouhei, who attends a specialized high school teaching fishery. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather as a fisherman. These two young people meet and have a long distance relationship. Although their love is strong it does not last.
10 years later these two people have a miracle.

Korean language BLs that depict a love/hate relationship.

Definitely same vibes with hate turned into love. Both are Korean language BL where one guy is attracted to another and kind of bullies/picks on him.

Both are BL Korean dramas about two guys who are attracted to eachother but confused about their feelings. There's a bit of tension and hot and cold between them and they are both very amazing dramas. I needed something to watch while waiting for new episodes of The Eighth Sense to come out and A Shoulder to Cry On really fit the bill!

- both deals with the process of grief and giving final dignity to loved ones who have passed away.
-making sense of life and life while saying goodbye.

I think they are similar on the parts of so many reincarnations and both have a lot of beautiful guys, hehe. But "Death's Game" is more mysterious, thriller (based on synopsis)

These both strike me as less intense than a lot of traditional sageuks when it comes to the plot, but also they are not as "fun" as some of the more recent historical dramas have been.

Both had endings that were optimistic and full of hope in a way you don't see in a lot of historical dramas. They left me teary-eyed, just thinking of how far they had all come.

If you like historical dramas and don't mind investing some time in slow (but largely intentional) pacing, I highly recommend them both. You will leave feeling inspired.

- both have the same outcomes for both parties ( ending for the leads )
- both bombers are moved by a heartbreaking backstory and revenge
