the two drama have a completely different cast and concept (the royal concept)
but instead i kept thinking about Live Up To Your Name while watching The King and how the main actors keep going back and forth between the two worlds

two different dimensions or different era. similar romance. mystery, humor and overall vibe is very similar. ( Chicago typewriter is less complicated than TKEM so if u dropped TKEM because of it complicated plot/story-line try Chicago typewriter)

Both are enjoyable to watch their journey from friends to little love birds! Both have a similar tesundre lead guy with an opposite leading girl in a college.

Similar soft yet cute Chinese short drama with indifferent male lead that has a long time crush on the leading girl from the beginning.

both of them are about romance except the untamed is BL.

- ML punished for breaking rules and kind of/partially leave their homes (sects whatever you want to call them)

Both are crime-based human dram films, excellent at portraying the emotions of people involving with the crime. That's all I can say, any further may contain spoilers.

Both Female leads share similarities on their braveness, also the background. Both of them climbed up the ladder from the very bottom.

In terms of FL acting, I find Empress Ki to be more domineering and realistic.

Same concept. A bureau that specifically handles the relationship between humans and monsters and a newbie who is different from his coworkers.

If you have watched Doctor Foster (the TV series where this drama was adapted from), you wouldn't have made a connection, but this Korean adaptation and SKY Castle both have themes of greed for connections to social elite.

Both also have high ratings in South Korea, and their mystery genre may have been also a big factor contributing into it.
