The roles are kind of swapped. In moon lovers, the ML is the exiled prince who everyone looks down on while in princess wei young, the FL pretends to be the illegitimate "jinxed" daughter of a powerful minister.
- Both the ML in moon lovers and the FL in wei young are pushed down by their families and slowly gain favor with the emperor
- Both show a fight for the throne and political plotting, but moon lovers is a little more intense
- Both are tragedies ;-;
Chemistry was a little better in moon lovers imo (although the princess weiyoung relationship is definitely healthier from the eps I've watched), but the FL in princess wei young was super smart and independent which I loved.

Both are rather short korean stories about love stories between two men where one of them is a dancer. They are also productions of lgbt focused production companies.

In My Secret Romance, similar to LSITC, follows a couple that once had a short-lived steamy and passionate relationship. They meet again and can't help but fall in love for the second time.
Both follow a same age range group of friends-turned-lovers and offer a refreshing slice of life romance with lessons on friendship. The friend group in LSITC has very similar chemistry compared to the FFMY one.
Both have female leads who have huge lies that started out of insecurity and miscommunication. They both have you urging to find out the end of the story.
- Historical-mystery drama
- Brilliant FL that assists in investigations
- Love rival with first love

If you like one then chances are you would like the other...
-Strong Bromance
-wuxia/historical/fantasy
-Good vs Evil but ambiguous
-Eye candy(if the plot is not your concern)
Yin-Yang master is just shorter, more fast paced, and action heavy with amazing visual effects/cinematography.
They have the same kind of vibe

Although these two kdramas are completely different in both plot and time period, I would recommend this if you are looking for a drama with a male lead similar to Yong/Tak Goo. I found that the male leads are somewhat alike in terms of both their personalities and goals; they are both looking to get revenge for the murder (/kidnapping) of one of their parents and go down difficult paths in hopes of achieving it. They also share a more light-hearted/humorous side to them. However, while Iljimae grows more serious as the series progresses, in King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo the male lead loses some of his resolve around half way through the drama and starts to focus more on his baking .
