Gameboys portrays reality. It narrates a story of two person in the middle of a lockdown. More than the lovestory, it uses itself to educate its audience with regards to socially relevant issies like LGBT Issues (coming out, acceptance, heteronormative gender roles), mental health, tourism in the Philippines and Covid-19 issues.

This is what seperates Gameboys from their contemporaries. They are not just after the kilig or entertainment. They empower their audience.

These two dramas also have overprotective, super clingy parents and do show character growth throughout the drama. Both stories are mainly focused on the main character becoming a more mature adult. Both are light, fun and hilarious shows!

They have the same screenwriter, which explains why I loved the secondary characters so much. The plots are also centered around complicated family dynamics.

* both are set in ancient times and have a mix of romance and investigation
* both couples start as boss and employee (in miss truth the FL is an examiner, in love is all she is an advisor)
* both FLs refuse social norms and want to make a name for themselves as women
* both MLs get captivated and become the softest softs for their FLs

the main difference is that Love is All leans more on the romance/comedy and the criminal cases are simple, whereas Miss Truth has romance mixed with a crime-heavy plot.

-Childhood friends who end up together romantically (But not clear who's going to end up with who)
-Same Dysfunctional Family/Community feeling in both series.
-Both nostalgic dramas about Childhood/Youth/Growing up. (Reply 1988 in particular is beautiful, Characters are shown reflecting on their childhood)
-Go Ahead has more of a nostalgic Family/ Healing theme, genetically different but a family nonetheless.
-All main characters in GA & R1988 are each others main source of support/happiness, the same support bubble/friendship groups.
- Go Ahead spends more time on the characters while they grow up and reconnect with each other and less on them younger.
