Both drama have male and female leads solving crimes and a smart, psychopath killer after one of the main leads. The female leads are both helping the male lead solve crimes. Also main leads in both dramas have special abilities (although it's on the supernatural side for The Girl Who Sees Scents).
The Girl Who Sees Scents is more focused on the female lead who I found much stronger and more interesting than in Love me if you dare, which is more centred around the male lead. The romance is much better and more consistent in The Girl Who Sees Scents.

Both of these dramas feature a similar mix of poignant political (mostly historically accurate) intrigue, life and death situations, and a passionate romance at its core. Therefore they give of a similar feel.
The grown up now and the younder adolescent, the friendships, the love, the fun...
It has the Reply 97 reminescing vibe, the feel, the energy, the happy and the fun times where things were good, when idol pictures were plastered on the walls, when love blossomed outdoors and not in front of a computer or a mobile phone screen....
The two drama show the struggle of a Crown Prince who has to deal with court intrigue.
The Crwon Prince/King has to deal with an "impossible" love in both case.

They are both historical dramas. Both love stories have a Romeo x Juliet vibe, Princess man is more serious, but both dramas are beautiful in their ways
Both are about illness and love that transcending or defying possible and upcoming death. There are days when this type of love just make the world around you so much sharper.
Both are about unrequited love and reunions. Remembering Lichua is amazing I think even better. The male lead Geofrey Gao is so yummy. Read the novel of Remembering Lichuan first before watching the show. Hope english sub are available by the time you read this.
Both of these dramas have a Mafia setting :)
Both deal with smart (as in, really, really smart), capable females that start out as slaves and rise in power, winning the king's/emperor's love along the way. Both also deal with palace politics and power play. In general, EK is more intense and has more fight scenes, but I thought the pace was good in both (little to no filler) for longish dramas.
They have the same setting (high school) and a variety of personalities.
It has the same lead. including many spoofs and goofs. The scene jump on the table. getting deep with Character development.
- Both are set in the future
- Missions in the space
- Cool battles against strange creature
- Contains a little bit sad part in the movies.

The plots sound very similar, I have yet to watch The Bridegroom is 18 Years Old.
