Recommendations

Both revolves around characters who are suffering and then proceed to find and explore a new chapter of their life. They both portray love in a pure and destined manner and I must say the romance genre is very strong too.

Both series involve traditional Japanese crafts, Kyoto Love Story with dessert and Mare with lacquerware, though it is more of a side story. The ML in Mare is also into dessert but more Western dessert, unlike the one is KLS. Both series tackle the hardships and passion they have for their respected crafts and both series involve the main couples becoming the successors of their traditional shops.

Thai BL series. The stories are very different, Love Poison relies more in comedy than drama, however both BL series take place in Northeastern Thailand and some or all characters speak Isan dialect.

Thai BL series. Same as in A Tale of Thousand Stars, part of the story in Oxygen takes place in countryside Thailand. After the death of one of the characters Tian/Gui move from Bangkok to a rural area and become teachers.

Thai BL series. In both, one of the main leads in the couple moves from Bangkok to Northeastern Thailand to escape from the city and meets the other lead. Both stories start after the death of a woman and the mystery/consequences surronding it. If you like green scenery and Isan dialect, you will like these 2,

Rebel Princess resembles a lot like Ming Lan
Both females leads are strong characters who play a important role in the palace politics
and FL's in both dramas fail to marry their first love but they completely overcome it and devote themselves to the ML hmmm
In both dramas ML's are generals who gains favors from the emperors and they both act dead to win over their enemies

Both drama have:

-a young talented Main Lead
-Societal Expectations
-Female Friendship
-Strong 2nd Lead Presence
- the topic: what truly makes you happy

Both are pretty calming shows with characters you might have seen but with differences
Main leads are personality-wise very different than typical leads .

Both drama deal with age difference in relationships (older woman-younger man) and the topic of whether one should conform to society's expectations or not. Strong 2nd lead presence too.

Short lovely dramas

Both are short documentaries by Josh Kim and both are available with subs on his Youtube channel with the same name.

- intelligently, well written mystery dramas (although I find the Joy of Life dialogue more humorous)
- each character lives and dies with purpose and the story is ended neatly
- involving the jianghu underworld
- main character does not desire power, is upright and loyal to his comrades, displays excellent character growth throughout the drama

In both films a truck driver driving through a desert forms a unique bond with a young boy in his care.

The second season of Produce 101 Japan based off of the Korean survival show, an 11 member boy group will debut from the 101 trainees.

the plot surrounding the main leads is almost identical. The love triangle, the high production quality, the excellent actors are all similarities as well.
