In miss mermaid the daughter was betrayed by her own father because the father marries a rich woman while in miss montecristo the female lead was betrayed by her own friends, one of her friends married her boyfriend and one of friend plagiarizes her work. Both the female leads carefully plot their revenge by carefully tormenting the people who made them suffer. Both of the female lead uses the male lead for revenge.
